  1. This is odd to say the least. I actually saw someone mention the Brewers interest in Bradley last week on a facebook page. The source was something I had never heard of before, so I dismissed it.
  2. I'm curious, seriously, just curious as to why this term bothers you so much. Is it a political issue. Do you consider cancel culture to be a political term that causes issues in discussion? I wasn't aware that cancel culture was an offensive term, but I figured you were offended by the term when I used it a few weeks ago, and you removed my post. Again, not trying to start anything, just want to understand why the term can't be used...
  3. He's just a guy, we have plenty of "just a guys" on the team. Save the money and put towards a #3 starting pitcher...(I would have said a 3B, but I have given up on that ever happening)
  4. I'm hoping Taylor takes it, and is everything that a lot of used to think he would become...
  5. The first two years of my teaching career, I taught in Illinois. When I came back to WI 29 years ago, I let it sit for a year or two, then just took it out and paid the penalty. I can't remember what I even did with it, but I knew I was never going to teach in Illinois again, so I sucked it up, took what I could and turned the paige.
  6. Might as well lock this one down too. Braves nabbed him.
  7. My wife and I are both teachers. She got her 2nd shot last week, I'm still waiting for my 1st... My district says after March 1st. My wife had a headache for 2 days after her 1st shot, and only a sore arm after her 2nd. (Phizer)
  8. Angone have any opinions on "Bates Motel?" Something I always wanted to see but never got around to it... Is it worth the time?
  9. What a shame if he never gets the proper send-off... I want him back for one more year. Surely we can work him into some kind of a rotation. He's a top 2 player in Brewers history, he deserves to go out like it!
  10. Let it go man, let it goooooooooooooooooooooo!
  11. and I bet the same thing is happening in SD as we speak...
  12. Wong isn't going to be sitting with the kind of cash we spent on him. That is crazy talk.
  13. I'd pass on video game movies myself. No interst what-so-ever. I do like the Marvel movies, but they are over-doing it imo. DC movies, meh.
  14. Arcia at 3B? I don't know wether to laugh or cry. I think I'll just puke instead.
  15. I'm not surprised really... I think it makes sense. Hopefully he is healthy more than hurt...
  16. You guys are far more casual than me. I NEED to see the games. Doing what some of you have suggested just doesn't compute in my world.
  17. I've been told by friends not to wear Brewers clothing at Dodgers games. The risk of an altercation is too great to make it worth it. I have yet to go there, but plan to do so in the future. I wore a Brewers jersey at Wrigley 3 years ago and got zero hassle from anyone.
  18. I binge watched the Brady Bunch this past weekend. I've had the entire series on DVD for years but never got around to watching. I might be made fun of for saying this, but that show is just soooooo good. Brings me back to a much simpler day. I remember watching the show on tv as a kid, then re-runs after schhol years later. Just plain classic tv when every show didnt have a back-talking brat (or 3) and parenting was actually taking place. It is nice to see morals being taught with strong family life examples. Such a classic show!
  19. I'm telling you, Gyroko will be a Brewer again... Probably as soon as tomorrow...
  20. That's totally not true. We were 1 game from winning the NLCS. If you're in the dance, you've got a chance. Billy Beane used to say he could build a team to win over 162 games, but it's a crapshoot in the playoffs I agree that we had a decent chance in 2018, and actually 2011. I know 2020 was totally non-standard, but the chance the Brewers had of winning the World Series was about as close to zero as you can get. So, the point I think that the original poster was trying to make is more that outside of a few outliers, that the big-payroll teams have the realistic chance while the small-payroll teams have only a slight chance and need lots to go their way to win it all. Stop using common sense.
  21. DAMN IT! 1 year, $8.5 million. I sure as heck hope he really wanted to pitch in Seattle, because if the Brewers weren't offering someone with his kind of talent more than that, shame on them. Totally agree with you on this... The only other starter I really want to take a shot on is Walker... Wanted Paxton bad!
  22. Agreed. Gyorko isn't a world beater, and even though he was very good last year, he'd still be a risk to throw out there every day. But at least he's an actual big league 3B with some results. That beats going with a unknown or a shot-in-the-dark. Robertson and urias have a prospect pedigree, but haven't proven anything yet. Plus they are both right-handed hitters, so you can't really platoon them. Not much left for lefty-hitting 3Bs. Jake Lamb and Travis Shaw are about it. Yup, that just isn't very exciting. *yawn*
