  1. Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports that MLB will open with 30-man rosters, reduced to 28 players on the 15th day of the season and 26 on the 29th day of the season. So, nearly half of the shortened campaign will be played with expanded rosters. Cotillo also says that the current plan is for 10-day injured lists for both position players and pitchers (it was supposed to go back to 15 days for pitchers this year) and that the 60-day DL will temporarily become the 45-day disabled list. Teams are expected to submit a provisional 60-man roster before the beginning of spring training that includes their 40-man roster plus anyone else they want eligible for their taxi squad. Source: Chris Cotillo on Twitter Jun 23, 2020, 4:10 PM ET Why not just use the expanded roster all the way through the 60 game season? Why bother changing it at all?
  2. Ditto! Better we win it than someone else!
  3. The younger people have, and I guess the rest of us have no choice.
  4. We live in an extremely selfish society. The way things are today, a pandemic brings that out even more. Bunch of selfish idiots. We'll see how they like it when we get shut down again, this time more than likely even more strict. I can only imagine how much the protests/riots have affected the situation. Now, in election season, the rallies will start up (both democrats and republicans, I'm not hanging this on one or the other) Disgusting.
  5. Woh! The Dominican Republic newspaper El Nuevo Diario has reported that Miguel Sano and three of his friends have been accused of kidnapping, beating and threatening to hang Raudy Omar Sanchez de la Cruz during an incident last month in San Pedro de Macoris. The Twins slugger told the newspaper that he is being blackmailed and that Sanchez de la Cruz asked for 10 million Dominican pesos (which is the equivalent of about $170,000) to drop the accusations. Sano said he would sue Sanchez de la Cruz's lawyer, Odalis Ramos, for 30 million pesos (or about $500,000) and also noted that Sanchez de la Cruz was involved in a sexual assault of a young relative of Sano’s. It's certainly a bizarre situation that we're sure to hear more about. “We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to have more as it becomes available,” Twins spokesman Dustin Morse said. 6. How can the players say things like "tell us when and where" then turn down the offer? The players are starting to look bad here imo. Both sides still to blame though.
  7. sure you will... Just like you stopped watching the NFL because of kneeling.... That is a true story. Haven't watched a single down since I made that commitment, it wasn't an empty threat. Saying you will probably stop going to games is exactly that, an empty threat, and you know it.
  8. sure you will...
  9. yup, there is blame to be had on both sides for certain. greedy bastards, all of them.
  10. I have a tough time understanding this line of thinking. Whether they have any sort of season this year will likely have no bearing on next year, so why not play in 2020? The game being played on the field is still gonna be baseball, and any baseball this summer would be better than none in my opinion.
  11. Run out of the league, or just plain sucked at football? There are and were a lot worse than him still given jobs. But looking at your posts above, I am sure that’s something you wouldn’t admit to. It was an honest question, one that you were unable to answer due to your desire to out me as whatever it is you are hinting at. Again, was he run out of the league or was he just not very good? It's a question, do you have anything to back up your claim of him being run out of the league? Looking at his stats, he was bad at football, and his own worst enemy when it came to trying to be employed by the NFL.
  12. Run out of the league, or just plain sucked at football?
  13. I would go one step further and say the attitude of patriotism in general is diminishing with each generation. Patriotism in general seems to have taken on a negative connotation these days. Probably because our current president pushes patriotism, but there is no need to get into that. lol Kind of sad really. I really enjoyed the patriotism that was evident after 911, at the time I didn't think that would ever go away, but it has. Another time that was great to be alive for patriotism was the bicentennial. In 1976 I was 11years old, and patriotism oozed at every turn. Those who don't remember or weren't born yet will never understand it, but that was a magical time to be a kid.
  14. I can say this with honest to God's truth. The day NFL players started kneeling for the anthem was the last day I have tuned into an NFL game. Also in all honesty, I haven't missed it in the least. I actually enjoyed having Sundays to do other things than lay around watching football all day. (Not to mention all the other times the NFL is now on, Thursday nights, Monday nights, etc) I haven't enjoyed being around people who do watch though, as it always turns to uncomfortable questions directed at me. You don't watch NFL games? Why not? I usually just say I don't want to get political, and they then know why. That is usually all it takes. This news bums me out a bit though, as I saw a reason to come back to the NFL this season when my favorite team (Nope, not the Packers) signed Brady and Gronk. I was looking forward to watching again, did some research which told me there were only 3 players left kneeling during the 2019-2020 season. If there is mass-kneeling again, I won't be tuning in...…..again.
  15. Again, this is what it all comes down to for me. No matter how long the season ends up being, 48 games, 72 games, whatever, someone is going to win the World Series title. I'd rather it be the Brewers than someone else. I am going to approach this season like any other, World Series dreams and all of that... An * by the title means nothing to me, winning a World Series does. If it comes down to winning the World Series this season (no matter how many games are played) vs losing it, I'd take winning it every single damn time! Here's to the 2020 World Series Champion Milwaukee Brewers!
  16. THAT really bugs me... People lost businesses, jobs, their livelihood during the shutdown, but all that was passed over for the "importance" of the protests.
  17. You wouldn't pay $2 per game to watch the Brewers?
  18. Skipping class as an off the field issue? Shouldn't every college athlete have that listed behind their name? Geez, what a complete non issue.
  19. What exactly are his off the field issues?
  20. I have a couple of high school buddies who would totally disagree with that statement... It may not be physically addictive, but it is 100% mentally addictive, especially to certain personality types. I had one friend who couldn't do a single thing in his life unless he was high. Pot was the only drug he did, nothing else. It got to the point of him joining the military to get off the stuff. He would have an entire different take on whether or not it was addictive, in his case, it was. Saying weed is less risky to drive on than alcohol is a silly argument as well. Anything that impairs your driving ability is dangerous, simple as that. I don't want my family and friends on the road with high drivers, do you? Not worth the argument though, so I won't keep hammering that nail...
  21. I literally played every day of every summer right up until probably my sophomore year in high school. (Once we started getting drivers licenses, the morning games stopped, sleeping became important, and of course, girls.) Played high school ball for 4 years, but those neighborhood games were just so fun. We had a daily game at 9:00 am since I was 9 years old. It was glorious, and those memories will never be forgotten. Usually followed by our bike gangs driving around town, home for lunch, then meeting at the pool. (never on little league game days though, our coaches would have killed us) After the pool was little league practice, possibly an evening baseball game with the same neighborhood kids, or going up to the fields to watch the men's softball games. I miss those times...
  22. How can you love them if you haven't seen them yet...I'm so confused (spoken in true Vinny Barbarino fashion)
  23. A lot of the people who say they won't pay attention to a shortened season, or don't care anymore will be the same people in the IGT threads on a daily basis, watch and see. Since so many have lost interest and no longer care, I'm assuming that once the shortened season starts, they will no longer take the time to post on the page since they no longer care? Yeah right...
  24. A 50 game season would be a blast! Every game would count, it would almost seem like the playoffs from day 1. If a 50 game season gets us Brewers baseball, count me in BIG time!
  25. I find it hard to believe that people on a hardcore brewer fan site like this truly don't care if they play a season or not. For me personally, I'm fine with whatever they do, as long as they play. 50, 80, 100 games, just give me Brewers baseball in 2020.
