  5. Spending all my time at school, preparing for online/virtual learning. I get a kick out of all the teachers that don't have to report, while we report for a full 8 hours per day through Friday. After that, half days at school, answering emails, video-chats, etc. with the students. Followed by going home, and spending another 2 hours being available for the students who have questions, etc... My only complaint is that we have to go into the physical building when we could easily be doing it all from home. It seems like a blatant disregard for the lockdown/shutdown that everyone else is supposed to be doing. I want to do my part, but my district isn't allowing it. My wife teaches in a different district, and you guessed it, she does it all from home...
  6. I understand why people are saying we should still frequent restaurants who are offering take-out and drive through business, but is it a legit concern that the people preparing your food could transfer the virus via packaging, coughing/sneezing near or on your food? I mean, if we are practicing social distancing as a society, and the virus can last on surfaces, isn't having others prepare your food a genuine risk? I mean seriously, I get it, those businesses will need the cash flow, but to me, I'm not willing to risk picking up the virus from a careless person preparing my food.
  7. That is really not true at all. They have ended their face to face school year, everything will be done online until the end of this school year. Kids are not off the hook, just have to do everything online from here on out.
  8. It would be great to not have the same people constantly harping that one game means nothing when they play 162. This would surely put some urgency in every game played...
  9. geez, you guys are bumming me out.
  10. Something tells me that air quality was quite different in 1918 than it is now...
  11. It's going to be a mess, that is for sure...
  12. We are going until Wednesday (kids and teachers)... Teachers have not yet been told if we have to report Thursday and Friday, or anytime after, but my guess is that we will be going in every day, regardless of schools closing. It's absurd. Same with us. Update, teachers will be reporting THURSDAY and FRIDAY, and it is still up in the air if we have to go after that. I think we'll be required to go every day until this is over, which is pretty counterproductive to the point of shutting down...
  13. That seems like the prudent thing to do...I don't understand how we can shut down, but still have teachers gathering. Knowing my district, they will have us in some kind of in-service, all in the same space... Grrrr.
  14. District Update: My district has school through Wednesday, then on Thursday and Friday, teachers are required to report. Geez... It just gets more ridiculous as time goes by.
  15. Given what we know now, it REALLY bugs me that with so many things shutting down, my school district has decided to stay open until after Wednesday's school day ends. For the next 3 days, I'll be in a complete germ field. Knowing full well the rest of the world is shutting down, yet here we are, impossible to keep any social distance, watching kids sneeze and cough into the open air, etc, etc... If Evers shut schools down starting Wednesday, why didn't he just do it starting Monday? Ok, I'll even say going to school Monday is probably ok, let us touch base with our students, explain what they should be doing over this shutdown, etc... But why Tuesday and Wednesday? It's asinine.
  16. We are going until Wednesday (kids and teachers)... Teachers have not yet been told if we have to report Thursday and Friday, or anytime after, but my guess is that we will be going in every day, regardless of schools closing. It's absurd.
  17. My greatest list would be fluid on a day to day basis... The one song that would make my top 5 each and every day would be: Accept : Balls to the Wall For whatever reason, that song hit a nerve with me, that to this day remains. It's just a great freaking tune! I won't even try to come up with a list so to speak, it is 100% completely impossible to list a top 5 for me...
  18. My district is still going, however, they are dropping like flies now, just a matter of time... 4 weeks seems a bit overblown, why not do 2 weeks, then re-evaluate?
  19. Nope, not Andy Kaufman... He never went on to be a household name comedian. Probably pretty obscure. Was just hoping someone had a memory the same as mine and maybe a clue for my search.
  20. Nope, it wasn't Buster... That I am 100% sure. I know and remember him.
  21. For years, and I mean YEARS, I have been trying to find a comedy sketch I saw in the 80's on Showtime, Cinemax, or possibly HBO. The only information I can remember was that there was a sketch that had a lounge type act, and the guy with a giant pompadour, would go up to someone in the audience and say rather seductively (tongue in cheek) "You're a beautiful woman, what is your name? (said in somewhat of a Hispanic accent) The lady would state her name, but Barbara was the one I can remember. The guy with the pompadour would then sing her name really obnoxiously... I was thinking about it again today, searched everything I can think of, and nothing... I'm sure it was on one of the movie channels at the time, a comedy special with a bunch of comedians doing skits, etc. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
  22. So all the colleges are shutting down, while all their students are traveling... Seems a bit counterproductive. Imagine the number of students getting infected on spring break. If they stayed home, would there be as much reason to shut down campuses?
  23. lol yes, I'm glad I don't run the team, as a random message board poster... Yes, it was praise for David Stearns. Also, dug my heels in? I was unhappy about who we gave up for Yelich, but certainly wasn't unhappy he was a Brewer. What do I know, I'm a random message board poster after all.
  24. Anderson being depth? The guy is hurt constantly. We need depth behind him to allow for his IL stays during the season, but I don't look at him as depth for that reason. Depth would be guys you can count on to fill in for guys like Anderson, who we all know is going to be injured.
  25. I really wish we hadn't signed Anderson... He just complicates things. Oh well, once he gets hurt, it will be a moot point.
