  1. Wow, 3 totaled cars since May? Hopefully everyone is ok, man, that is tremendously bad luck...
  2. Cards win, and that makes me unhappy. Can you imagine having a top 3 rotation like Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin? It must be fun.
  3. On the Deer subject, kind of. In July, my son, who is working in Montana, waiting to start Grad school in the fall, was driving his Saturn L200 and ran over a rock (on a road that car should not have been on I might add...grrrrrr), which cracked his oil pan. He didn't realize it at first, drove a mile down the road and discovered the oil leaking out. Long story short, the car being worth about $1800 pretty much totaled it out and it wasn't worth fixing. Car gone. 2 weeks later, he flew home to Wisconsin to pick up our 2010 Mercury Mariner. My wife and I decided that she would just get a new vehicle, and we'd give him a great deal on the Mariner. He was home for a grand total of one night, then started his 22 hour trip home. Another long story short, 3 hours from his house in Montana, he hit a freaking antelope at 70 mph. He was fine, but the Mariner was totaled. In the span of a little over 2 weeks, he totaled out 2 vehicles. We planned to drive the Mariner another 3 or 4 years since it only had 70K miles, so in the process, we purchased a new car for my wife so we could give our son the Mariner, and now he doesn't even have it. Car #2 gone. He finally purchased his own vehicle, but in Montana, which means he can no longer be on our insurance, and has to get his own insurance since the car is titled in Montana under his own name. A learning experience for a 23 year old who had a car that should have lasted him through grad school, and is now paying for his own car and insurance... Sometimes life is just not fair.
  4. Might have something to do with how horrible Shaw was this year.
  5. Man, I'd hate to have to face Hader as a Dodger in the 2020 NLCS, game 7.
  6. If the best we can do is aim for Neil Walker, I don't want 2020 to get here.
  7. I shudder at the thought of running another catcher out there not named Grandal. We can't appreciate how much his bat meant to us until he is gone. Without him, we go from a top of the order offensive threat, to a bottom of the order below average offensive detriment. The difference will be striking. If he walks, our offense takes a MAJOR hit, as there is no one on our current roster, or available that even sniffs Grandals jockstrap. Offer him a 3 year deal, maximum, but pay the man.
  8. Which is exactly what we saw in 2018. He could not handle the full time catcher duty, but was pretty darn solid as a back up this year. Pina, to me, is a really really good back up catcher. If we can get him his 40 starts and pair him up with Grandal again, that would be awesome.
  9. I would bet that Houser is given every opportunity in spring training to be one of them. In fact, I think only an injury or extreme poor performance stops that from happening.
  10. There are no circumstances that would turn me against the Brewers. My loyalty runs deep, and switching teams are not even words in my vocabulary. It irks me when people even say they have more than one favorite team in the same sport. To me, that is impossible. One team, period. Would it suck if I knew they would never win the WS? Yup, but I watch the games, win or lose. As much as I want to win it all, I enjoy the daily grind too much to quit on my team. Would it suck if they made it to the world series, and I already knew they couldn't win? Yup, but I'd watch anyway, in total agony. To me, having the Brewers on is comfort. I love when winter turns to spring and knowing that in a short time, the Brewers start again. My answer is yes, I'd still watch, and the Brewers will always be my team until they close the stadium doors permanently, or I kick the bucket.
  11. Good point. NOT a good point. Grisham's mistake didn't cost us the world series, hell, it didn't even cost us the game last night. It was just another bad thing that happened on a bad night. No one will ever equate Grisham's mistake to Buckner, no one at all...
  12. When, in the 9th? No one was up in the pen. CC was going to win or lose with Hader, and he lost. A hefty part of the blame belongs to CC in this one. Hader didn't have it, and most of us knew it, too bad the guy calling the shots didn't.
  13. He just stinks. You just can’t give up that many home runs He’s bad HRs? Are you even watching this game?
  14. This is on Hader and to some degree CC. Everyone of us knew Hader didn't have it tonight, but he is left out there to fry. I know a lot of people here think CC is God, but it is things like this that can't happen to a team like this. CC's decision to do nothing is what killed us. Didn't even have a guy up in the pen just in case. Inexcusable. We had 3 pitchers pitch their hearts out, only to be robbed by a guy who was off from the very beginning. Grisham messed up, but that is cause and effect. Before he had the chance to mess up, there were two other guys who messed up and put him in that situation to begin with. This sucks.
  15. You don't purposefully put the tying run in scoring position with 2 out. You just don't. you mean winning run, right? EDIT: oh, ok, I see what you said, my bad.
  16. These announcers have been dying for something to go the Nationals way all night. They get their wish, now Hader needs to make it right! I can't stand the bias towards small market clubs in the playoffs. SCREW THEM!
  17. That hit the bat at the same time as his hand. foul ball. I don't trust the replay though. listen to these guys saying it has to stay as the call on the field. screw these national idiots.
  18. It would have to be 4 or more. Even then, with what we have left to throw out there, I'd stick with Hader... 5 or more I might risk it.
