  1. I'd be surprised if the Cubs don't get him back the way he played with them...
  2. What will Arcia's attitude be like if we went the route mentioned above? I can see him not liking that situation one single bit and becoming a problem in the clubhouse.
  3. Now would be a good time to trade him with all that value he just received with the national attention... (blue ?)
  4. It should definitely you it.
  5. LIKE! This is a given... All the whining about the umps in the IGT will just refocus on the automated strike zone instead.
  6. I think you can bank on that for certain! I am looking forward to their 2020 list.
  7. lol You must not know Clancy. Every player can play every position, that is all you need to know when it comes to this guy.
  8. Vogt, why, because he was once a Brewer? Dude is over the hill, and has no arm, I mean nothing there, gone... If he is the best we can do to pair up with Pina, we are in trouble. Also, there is basically no way we carry 3 catchers.
  9. Cozart is a walking talking injury waiting to happen. No thanks.
  10. Why are pinch hitters crappy? Generally it's a guy who is quite good if the L/R matchup works out, and R/R matchups are usually okay too. I don't think that just because a guy is pinch hitting for someone that that means he is better than the guy he is pinch hitting for. Sometimes it's just a righty lefty match up thing, sometimes it's just another way for a tinkering manager to tinker, and sometimes it might be that the pinch hitter has had better success with a given pitcher than the guy who is supposed to be hitting... A pinch hitter is often not any better than the guy he is hitting for imo.
  11. He got real offended by Carlos Gomez. Gomez watched a ball for a second, ended up going off the wall, Gomez got a triple, and Cole was ticked off. I don’t recall a Braun incident, but wouldn’t shock me. I can’t recall if Cole retaliated after that. My memory is telling me that he maybe threw at someone, maybe it was Braun after Gomez ticked him off...I just don't remember, but something happened that made me think of Cole as a bit punkish all this time...
  12. Yeah, I didn't even address the Gamel comment, just makes zero sense.
  13. Wasn't there an incident a few years ago with Cole and Braun maybe? When Cole was a Pirate, didn't he do some douche-like move against us? I can't remember what it was exactly, but it seems like his dickness has happened before, against our own team...
  14. Agreed, but I'm not so sure about just cutting Shaw. There might be a team out there willing to take a chance on him that would give up a couple lottery ticket type guys at the least. I don't want to rely on Shaw bouncing back, I just don't think it's a wise move, but signing Moose, and trading Shaw for something is my plan. Big giant NO on Lucroy. That ship has sailed, he is a shell of his former self, and nostalgia should not play a role in building this team. He's gone, he sucks, leave him be... Do we want or need another 4 to 5 inning starting pitcher? CC won't allow a guy like Miley to throw 6 or 7 innings, I want someone who we can throw out there for a 6th or 7th inning, a guy we can trust, and I don't know that CC thinks Miley is that guy. Not to mention, Miley lost his magic the 2nd half last year... Miley only if he can be had cheap. really cheap. I'd be fine with Gibson, but at what cost? Wheeler is severely over rated on this site. His numbers don't impress me to be honest, and he is going to get paid!! Pineda(?) Interesting, but there are risks. I am in favor of bringing Lyles back, this I can get behind, however, again, we really ned a couple guys that can go 7 innings on occasion, is Lyles that guy? Both would be great, but I think Smith is out of our $ range. (Is he a free agent?) I want Pomeranz back, his price also went up due to his strong performance with us To me, Braun should already be penciled in for 50 plus games at 1B in 2020. Platoon him with Thames at 1B and problem solved. Assuming he is willing, and nothing I have seen says differently. Unless they are able to get Encarnacion for a decent price, Braun and Thames are my 1B starting the season. We NEED a TOR starter type to add to Woodruff. There is no doubt we will be looking, but I think we will roll with the usual cast of characters, hoping that Nelson will bounce back. (assuming we keep him) Arcia needs to be replaced, we just can't continue with the hopes that we see 2017 Arcia again, nothing about the last 2 seasons points to that happening.
  15. Ok, then where do you hide a crappy hitter like Arcia? Can't hit him 9th, he doesn't fit the above mentioned requirement. Can't hit him 8th, that is the pitcher's spot. Under what is said above, he would have to hit 7th? I understand what is being said, I just don't have an answer for where you hide a guy like Arcia, because we certainly don't want him getting more at bats in the course of a season, and the higher he moves up in the order, the more at bats he gets. Same thing with Pina, where do we hide him? Hit Pina 6th and Arcia 7th? Geez. This just tells me that we can no longer afford to wait on this guy, we need a bat at SS, and we need to resign Grandal.
  16. I know there will likely be posts of frustration about lack of free agent signings by the Brewers at some point but kudos for expressing yours before free agents are even allowed to sign. This offseason is shaping up to be a fun one. I think you read what I was saying completely wrong...
  17. Are you willing to take that gamble, and possibly be left with the blackest of black holes at an offensive position that needs to be productive? If Shaw tanks again, and that is what I am expecting, and you add him to Pina and Arcia, we better be upgrading the starting pitching or it could be a long LONG season.
  18. If we are going to rely on Shaw at 3B, and lose Moose, that is a MAJOR downgrade. If we lose Grandal, and rely on Pina as our everyday C, that is a MAJOR downgrade. They would have to add some MAJOR pitching to have any shot of contending imo. I know, I know, there is lots of time, and lots of moves to be made, blah blah blah.
  19. I do like the pitch clock though... That can't hurt the integrity of the game, it's a win win.
  20. Christmas movies in October? Seriously? I have been noticing while flipping around on the channels that Hallmark started showing Christmas movies weeks ago...Geez.
  21. Add Grandal to that mix...…..we can dream right? CF Cain 2B Hiura RF Yelich 1B Encarnacion C Grandal 3B Moustakas LF Braun A line-up like that, and an upgrade at SS, and wow! Hell, we could probably afford to keep Arcia with that line-up.
  22. Ok, I'll give you all that, but have some class man.. The hat and the comments, no thanks. Dick move.
  23. Yasmani Grandal will decline his $16 million option to return to the Brewers, says Jon Heyman. There was never any doubt about this. Grandal will get to walk away with a $2.25 million buyout. The Brewers should be willing to go higher than $16 million to bring him back next year, but it'd probably take at least a three-year deal to get him to commit anytime soon. 24. Yankees declined 1B/DH Edwin Encarnacion's $20 million club option for 2020. He'll get a $5 million buyout instead. Encarnacion posted a strong .875 OPS with 34 home runs and 86 RBI in 109 games this season between Seattle and New York, but the going rate for defensively-limited sluggers has tumbled in recent years. He'll turn 37 years old in January and may struggle to find a lucrative deal on the open market this winter despite his ongoing success as a veteran power bat. 25. I bet he gets more in the 10 million range. He was having a GREAT year before the injury hit.
