  1. Kind of a dick, isn't he...
  2. This x100. The ball in glove is classic and among the best logos in sports, period. No we don’t have 27 World Series titles, but that doesn’t mean our logo isn’t great, even perfect. Make the ball in glove, in its current glorious perfect form, the primary logo. Forever. However else you want to tweak the jerseys/colors...hey go nuts. 100% agree with both posts above. 100%!!!
  3. GI Joe's were the best! wow, thanks for wasting 1 minute of my life. What the?
  4. I will never tell anyone how they should feel, but I don’t get the hate. First of all, a team logo should give a team their identity. When you see the cubs “c” you instantly know it’s the cubs. The brewers have had basically 5 logos in 50 years. You don’t see iconic brands doing that, like Coca Cola, etc. My hope is to have one logo and stick with it. For better or worse, the ball in glove is forever linked to this franchise more than any other logo and I’m happy it’s back,
  5. Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports that the Mets are "taking a really long look" at Eduardo Perez and Tim Bogar in their search for a new manager. Martino says that Carlos Beltran, Derek Shelton and Luis Rojas are still "technically" in the mix, too, but it sounds like this might be a two-horse race between Perez and Bogar. The Mets have not yet made a decision on who will replace Mickey Callaway, per Martino. Source: Andy Martino on Twitter Oct 27, 2019, 1:36 PM ET
  6. I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people on this page when Arcia remains our starting SS in 2020.
  7. The new thing is to blast all stats that were used before 2017. All stats that don't require a college education to cypher are now meaningless. You guys must not have gotten that memo. Crazy old coots!
  8. ryu = major injury concern. Only the big market teams can afford to take the kind of risk that he is going to create.
  9. Only when it mattered most... jk…...at least a little bit anyway.
  10. Yawn, but continues to promote Nike with each time he types Nike. Great reply, you are so smart. *yawn*
  11. What if the Astros did Alvarez for Tucker? Since we are operating in fantasy land, would that sway anyone to make this deal?
  12. I grew up calling it pop, it took me 10 years or more to start saying soda, and it still bothers me to say it....soda, just doesn't feel right. Hot tamales might not be a thing n real cities, the town I teach in is small, and is surrounded by other small towns, all connected in many ways, so maybe hot tamales isn't really a fox valley thing, but a thing in all the little towns that are basically connected by relatives and the like.
  13. They say bubbler in the fox valley area, and since moving here in the early 90's, that has always bothered me too. The weirdest one I have come across is Hot Tamales. To me, that is a Mexican dish. When I moved here, one of the first days of school (I am a teacher) hot tamales was on the lunch menu. I went through the line expecting a hot tamale/mexican dish). What I got was a sloppy joe. Not even a spicy version, but a regular old sloppy joe. (I actually called them BBQ sandwiches growing up, but I think they are universally known as sloppy joes) Asking around, I found out that they are known as hot tamales in the town and area I teach in, which to this day makes no sense at all.
  14. We tried that before and he wore down at the end of the season. With the small amount he played last year, and 2 years older, I doubt his stamina will be better, probably worse. If we keep Pina as the every day starter, we would have to pair him up with a guy that we can stomach starting 3 games a week. Might be tough to do seeing the FA list at catcher. We need to suck it up, pay Grandal a realistic salary, and mark him in for next season. imo

    Survivor

I think Survivor needs to be 2 shows a week. Similar to what Big Brother does, but not 3 shows, 2 is enough. I don't think we see enough of the socialization, it seems like the entire show is challenges, and tribal council. Also, when it comes to the challenges, we need to see fewer puzzles and more physical competitions. I have noticed they have really cut back on the physical contact challenges and are now almost exclusively a little physical (obstacle course) and a puzzle. They really need to vary the challenges more.
  16. Rooting for Nats, but I think the Astros win it in 5.
  17. I hate the guy that Arby's has on their commercials. He gets on my last nerve, so much so, I change the channel immediately when their commercials come on. Same with the SOL commercials during Brewers games, just really horrible.
  18. The fact that Gallardo would have to be considered saddens me. Personally, he wouldn't be on mine. CC, Teddy, Sheets, and Hader would be mine currently. Hopefully, in a couple years, Woodruff makes it!
  19. Any departure from that horrible McCarthy voice saying "challenge" is a welcome change...
  20. Wow, so you just don't want to commit to any logo then? lol I'd like to see fewer logos, and just roll with one.
  21. How long ago did the Marlins do it? Seems pretty recent.
  22. If they are doing a ReBrand, I think we see the Miller M gone for good. I hope they usher in the Ball in Glove in a new way, and we keep some form of it forever. It is such a shame that we have to part ways with Miller, it just fit so well.
  23. Man, that seems like a long time to wait with a psycho on the loose.
  24. I freaking hate the fact that Nike is the uniform company. I stopped buying anything with a Nike logo, I mean anything.
