  1. Getting ridiculous...
  2. ...because they are too busy texting to realize it.
  3. Kind of like the 2018 Brewers, and it worked pretty well for us...
  4. According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Yankees had trades for Sonny Gray in place with teams other than the Reds on Friday. The Reds have a tentative deal in place, but it's contingent on completing a contract extension with Gray. Their 72-hour negotiation window expires at some point on Monday after which the Yankees could pivot to other possible deals. If the trade with the Reds goes down, complete with the contract extension, it's believed the return package for the Yankees would include at least infield prospect Shed Long and a competitive balance pick. Not working out an extension doesn't rule out a different trade with Cincinnati, but teams like the Brewers, Athletics, and Padres have also been mentioned as possible landing spots. 5. All the time... The older I get, people making careless decisions that can/will effect me, bothers me more and more. All it takes is one fool on his phone crossing the center line, to end someone else's life. Are people just oblivious to the fact that their inability to control their addictions and impulsive behaviors put others at risk? Geez. I know people here won't believe me when I say this, but I have never, not one single time, texted while driving. I don't trust myself to do so. I do not use my phone while driving, ever. The risk just isn't worth it. It's too bad others don't feel the same. So much selfish behavior out there...
  6. I just don't want to throw Zach Brown in any deal that doesn't net us a true #1 starting pitcher. Greinke is no longer that guy.
  7. I see all ages texting and driving to be honest... For me personally, it is the 20's and 30's crowd. I see people in their 40's and 50's frequently too. Doesn't matter who is doing it, I'm just sick of seeing it.
  8. Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that the Phillies maintain interest in free agent third baseman Mike Moustakas. As Heyman notes though, their interest in Moustakas is likely entirely reliant on how their pursuit of Manny Machado turns out. The 30-year-old slugger hit .251/.315/.459 with 28 homers and 95 RBI in 152 games between the Royals and Brewers in 2018. Source: Jon Heyman on TwitterJan 19 - 6:32 PM
  9. Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that the Brewers have interest in bringing back free agent southpaw Wade Miley. The 32-year-old southpaw was terrific for the Brewers last season, posting a 2.57 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 50/27 K/BB ratio across his 80 2/3 innings. At the right cost, he could add some much-needed depth to the Brewers' rotation.
  10. whew!
  11. The Mule delivered. Great story. Great movie.
  12. I am assuming you are talking about an actual Ghostbusters movie, with Akroyd and Murray to follow up to the Ghostbusters 2 movie?
  13. Totally with you on this. I'm a high school teacher, and my classroom rule is no earbuds/headphones or whatever they are called now. They act like I am taking their right arm when I ask them to remove them. The hell of it is, there are teachers in my building that allow them, all the time. There are kids that wear them all damn day, IN SCHOOL! If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny. Don't get me started on cell phones... Studies show teens and millennials are showing hearing loss normally seen in senior citizens due to having music constantly in their ears for 10-12 hours per day. Not surprising at all...
  14. Really? Because I seem to remember a whole lot of people being real excited about the possibility of Machado coming over here in free agency. I think it's a lot easier to say you don't want Machado when there's virtually zero chance it's going to happen. I don't really like the guy....but I like an elite power hitting SS/3B. That was before he acted like a punk in the NLCS series vs Jesus and Arcia... Things change.

  16. Are you okay with Ryan Braun being on the team? Yup, and it's not the same situation, not even close...
  17. How do you know be would be a big clubhouse problem? How do you know the team wouldn't get him and Aguilar together before a signing and try to bury the hatchet? Regardless, I'm able to separate my personal feelings about a player from my desire to see this team win. I don't particularly care for Ryan Braun, but I certainly root for him to do well. Also, we hardly field a team of 25 angels every season. We know Braun's history. We acquired K-Rod numerous times despite him being a known abuser. I'd probably draw the line at Addison Russell, but a guy being a dislikeable punk like Machado or Puig isn't enough for me to just totally cross him off the list. You'd have to get Arcia together with him too since he pulled an equally dirty move with him in the NLCS...So Jesus and Arcia might not be happy with him on the roster, and my bet is there would be many others as well. Team chemistry is tricky, Machado could come in and wreck it from day one, never allowing the team to gel and flow like it did last year. Not worth the risk, and rooting for him would be unpleasant as could be...
  18. Why care about something that isn't going to happen? true...
  19. I can't wait for him to be off the market one way or the other. It causes me anxiety to think there is even an outside chance that we give up the kind of package that is being mentioned above. *shudder*
  20. It saddens me that people seem to be fine with a punk like Manny Machado on our roster. How soon some forget his antics in the NLCS. He was public enemy number one around here, and now there are those willing to let that slide? I don't care what he brings to the team on the positive side, the negative vibes he creates would be a total bummer, on the field and in the clubhouse... The thought of him as a Brewer, my team, disgusts me.
  21. Could be true, however, that laves a lot of time for someone to make him an offer he can't refuse... Risky to wait too long.
  22. lol Manny's Dad trying to get his boy paid! Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports reports that the Yankees and Dodgers have not made Manny Machado an official contract offer this offseason. Machado's father, Manuel, told Z Deportes that his son has received offers from the Yankees, Dodgers and Phillies and that there's been "a lot of interest" from the White Sox, but Heyman is hearing otherwise. While it doesn't necessarily matter that he hasn't gotten "official" offers from either club, the Dodgers have never seemed likely to re-sign Machado and him landing with the Yankees has been looking less and less likely by the day.
