  1. We are? . I apologize, I wasn't clear. I meant my family, in our household. My wife, my kid, & myself. I can't presume to speak for anyone else here on this forum.
  2. We are? I see both sides of the arguement. I'm not against owners being rich, it's why they are able to own the teams in the first place. I can't feel sorry for players who make 20 million or more in their careers, I just can't. I can't feel sorry for players who only make 5 million in their careers either...In fact, ONLY Making 5 million is still an obscene amount of money. I don't feel sorry for either side, just hope they can come to agreements, and we can continue to watch the best sport on earth, played by the best athletes on earth.
  3. I agree, I want to see Guerra in that relief role, not starting...
  4. To be honest, I'd roll with Guerra starting before paying any of those bums... Would consider Tillman and Fister on minor league deals only! No way do I touch Bailey, in any capacity. He is a dumpster fire.
  5. Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Padres are showing interest in Gio Gonzalez. The Padres have now been connected to J.T. Realmuto on the trade market and Manny Machado, Bryce Harper and Gio Gonzalez on the free agent market in recent days, as it appears general manager A.J. Preller is looking to take advantage of a stagnant market. Gonzalez is 33 and coming off a down season that saw him post a 4.21 ERA over 32 starts, but he could offer a little stability to a rotation that's lacking it. The only other club known to have interest in Gonzalez is the Mets, and Mike Puma of the New York Post says the club has "maintained dialogue" with the southpaw's camp. Source: MLB.comFeb 1 - 8:27 AM For the record, I have no interest in bringing him back. I don't think he is a difference maker, just a guy on a roster.
  6. This is not good news... We couldn't pony up 5 million on a one year deal? That is the kind of deal that seems to be right up our alley...
  7. I would not want Gio back unless he is mega cheap. I'd much rather have Miley every single time!
  8. Until I see proof of that, I chhose to believe that this is just a message board, full of regular people who think they know what is gong on...
  9. Orf at #50? Please... This is the kind of placement that always makes me wonder if these guys really do their homework.
  10. Fixed that for you. No, there are people on here that know things......or at least have heard credible things....that the rest of us don't know about. people guess, and people predict...that's about as far as it goes.
  11. Fixed that for you.
  12. Stearns may know this, but does Counsell?
  13. Well the weather here in AZ will be in the 70's all week does this help? With our windchill, we will be about 120 - 130 degress cooler than you. Jealous?
  14. I'm one of those few...WHEW!
  15. I honestly wonder if Milwaukee is a place that starters would prefer not to come to based on innings pitched per game, or what is assumed will be innings pitched per game... I can see why a guy who can go 6 to 7 almost every time out would be cautious about coming to the Brewers... Not specifically Dallas Keuchel, but any starter.
  16. Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that the Padres are considering free agent Mike Moustakas. And Moustakas comes at the recommendation of his former teammate and current Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer. The Padres have emerged as a potential suitor for Manny Machado, but Moustakas will come cheaper and might also be more realistic. The 30-year-old was better defensively in 2018 while batting .251/.315/.459 with 28 homers and 95 RBI in 152 games between the Royals and Brewers. The Phillies and White Sox are among the clubs who have been linked to Moustakas in recent weeks. Of course, Machado is also a potential fit with those clubs. 17. If he was being reasonable about his demands, he'd have been gone a long time ago. Odds are, he is asking too much.
  18. It frightens me to think that Perez might get 500 at bats... Be as positive as you want, I don't want this guy playing as much as he will.
  19. I was going to add to the "no lights on" discussion, but it seems that conversation has ended. I guess I was a little late to the party...
  20. Brewers 90 Cubs 89 Cardinals 89 Reds 84 Pirates 72
  21. The Reds are getting scary. yikes. I'm hoping they do not get JT.
  22. [sarcasm]That would be third base.[/sarcasm] Seriously, they'd get more offense by using Aguilar at third, Shaw at second, and Thames at first. but no defense. STOP.
  23. How exciting... Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Sunday that he envisions second base being a timeshare between Hernan Perez, Cory Spangenberg and Tyler Saladino. That's assuming the team doesn't sign or trade for an established second baseman prior to Opening Day (or acquire a third baseman and move Travis Shaw back to second). Spangenberg would seem to be in line to serve on the long side of a platoon since he bats left-handed, although it probably wouldn't be a strict platoon. Whoever starts the season at second base for the Brew Crew will likely just be keeping the seat warm for top prospect Keston Hiura, who could take over the spot sooner rather than later. Milwaukee also has infield prospect Mauricio Dubon as an eventual option. Source: Tom Haudricourt on Twitter Jan 27 - 3:15 PM
  24. When I saw they were discussing an extension I thought how stupid of the Royals, no reason to spend money to extend a 30 year old when you're rebuilding. Now that I see for how much, it seems like he must really want to stay in Kansas City. Which is kind of ironic because this deal certainly just upped his trade value. Maybe that is why he signed that deal? Maybe he wants out of KC badly, and now that he is even more tradeable, he figures this is his ticket out?
