  1. Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Brewers "remain prominent" in trade talks involving Sonny Gray. Morosi adds that while the Reds were in on Gray earlier in the offseason, he's not as much of a priority for them anymore after they added Tanner Roark and Alex Wood. A move to the National League would surely aid Gray as he looks to bounce back in 2019, but obviously Miller Park wouldn't be an ideal landing spot. 2. Jon Morosi of MLB.com reports that the Phillies to this point have been unwilling to give Dallas Keuchel the five-year contract offer he desires. Patrick Corbin landed a six-year deal, but he's a year and a half younger than Keuchel and also has the higher upside, so whether Keuchel is ultimately able to get a five-year pact remains to be seen. The Rangers, Angels, Brewers and Padres are some other clubs known to have interest in the veteran left-hander. Related: Phillies Source: Jon Morosi on Twitter Dec 28 - 9:59 AM
  3. Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports the Astros and Marlins are still in touch regarding a potential J.T Realmuto swap. The Marlins are demanding either pitcher Forrest Whitley or outfielder Kyle Tucker to headline the return package and the Astros are not willing to part with either of them. Both Whitley and Tucker are consensus top-10 prospects in all of baseball and both are on the cusp of the major leagues. The Astros signed backstop Robinson Chirinos to a one-year, $5.75 million contract last month to replace Brian McCann, who left as a free agent and signed with the Braves. They would surely be happy to slide Chirinos into a backup role if they are able to snag Realmuto to be their starter. The Padres, Dodgers, Reds and Rays are also known to have negotiated with the Marlins regarding Realmuto in recent weeks. Source: Jon Morosi on Twitter Dec 29 - 1:00 PM
  4. By now we should have heard the Yankees and Red Sox want him...Those are the only 2 teams in MLB that the media seem to care about.
  5. Has to be Yuni's fault, just has to...
  6. Based on their usage last season I'm not sure we have any reason to think Pina is our primary catcher and Kratz our backup. Or, the other way around...
  7. Stop with the Jesus to 3b nonsense. It's not going to happen, nor should it.
  8. This exactly. Without DJ, taking a 9 million dollar risk on Gray seems a bit foolish. I'd take him for Thames straight up, but not much more.
  9. Hiura can play 3B? Are these 2 positions completely interchamgeable? I highly doubt it...
  10. I keep seeing Harrison's name come up. Does he offer anything better than what we have now? I want nothing to do with this guy to be honest.
  11. Along with that, I was under the impression that dump trucks had to have a cover on the rear when they were loaded with rocks, gravel, dirt, etc., so it wouldn't shoot out at the cars behind them... I have seen so many that are not covered, that I think I am making it up in my mind that there was a law passed stating so. It is so annoying watching crap fly off the back of those trucks onto traffic. I stay far far far back when I see them, which is often. That really bugs me...
  12. I can only hope they had their emotional support animals near-by...
  13. I believe Generation Y is another term for Millennials. Ok, I'll take your word for it, never heard them referred to as that before. Is that an attempt by the Millenials to remove the negative connotations associated with the word Millenial" perhaps?
  14. There is a generation Y? I thought it was Baby Boomers, X, Millennials, and Z...
  15. Keon is out of options so he is either with the Brewers or with another organization... Keon will make the 25 man out of ST. Gamel will not. Gamel will make the 25 man out of ST. Keon will not. See how this game works?
  16. I'm allergic to most dogs and all cats. I 100% do not want them in the workplace, or have to take medication so others can enjoy their animals at work. We bend over backwards to be accepting of others for many reasons, if it is a health related reason such as being allergic, it's ridiculous to expect myself, and others like me to have to accept animals in the workplace. Maybe the people who want animals in the workplace/school just have to deal with the fact that not everyone agrees with THEM? I can't believe this is even a discussion.
  17. He would be a fun signing, with very little risk. Actually, no risk at all as long as he is willing to play 2B. Would make some interesting conversation, that's for sure. What if he bounced back a bit and was able to stay healthy? 20+ homers from the position would be sweet. I was against the thought at first, but have warmed up to the idea.
  18. But if Broxton makes the roster you're not counting on him for offense. You're counting on him to be a late defensive plus replacement, or a pinch runner type. He's not going to get Hernan Perez type ABs. I hope you are right... I wouldn't have expected guys like Kratz, Sogard, or Perez to get as many at bats as they got either. If he is actually our 4th outfielder, he'll get at bats, and my guess with my pessimistic attitude, lots of crucial at bats in high leverage situations because it just works out that way when CC makes the substitution.
  19. I know Broxton is a plus defender, but he is brought up here often as our 4th outfielder, etc... He is one guy I'd like to see out of here for an offensive upgrade. Would have loved it if it was him instead of Santana getting traded. I may be in the minority with that thought, but I feel like he is a bit over-valued.
  20. I think this is spot on. Perez has value to the team in the versatile bench role that he's designed to play at a modest cost. It's when the cost is no longer modest or the role involves starting at one position that he's not the player you want in that role. I have zero doubt that Perez is valuable to this team, but it isn't as an expected starter. I agree.........with all that was said above.
  21. I disagree.........with all that was said above.
  22. Claudino, Santiago, am I in a parallel universe of some kind where all names are just a little off? Not meant as a rip on anyone, just find it funny. I am almost starting to wonder if it's a "hip" thing, and I am the last to get on board.
  23. So that is the best we can get for Santana? I'd rather have kept him to be honest. Not that I mind moving him, he seems to have no place on our roster, but just kind of sad that was the best we can do...
  24. If we enter the season with no improvements at 2B and C, and Arcia continues his struggles, it will be so disappointing. I can live with Pina at C, but we have to do something better than CS and Perez at 2B.
  25. ?? His money is already guaranteed. So he will pick a team that lets him play SS or is his geographical preference where he wants to live/play. Money will no longer play a role in where he goes, he already has Toronto's money, and he won't get any more. In essence he is playing for free if he decides to play. Free to the team who signs him, not free for him since he has 40 million coming his way whether he plays or not...
