  1. That is exciting! I've been a Tyrone fan since his days in Appleton!
  2. Could Bogaerts play 2B? Has he ever done so? Why not get him, and leave Arcia at SS and Bogaerts at 2B if that is an option, and I'm not saying it is because I have no idea if he has ever played 2B. Hell, some us seem to be fine with Shaw sticking at 2B, I'm sure Bogaerts could handle that positiion pretty easily being a ss... 3B Shaw SS Arcia 2B Bogaerts 1B Jesus (though I am not sold on him......still......seems to be a guy with regression written all over him if you ask me.)
  3. I'd take that bet every time! 145 for Braun is a pipe dream. If he plays 125, I'll be amazed.
  4. I will hurl my guts out the day Barry Bonds gets in. I don't think I have ever hated a MLB player as much as I hate that guy. (Alomar is a close 2nd)
  5. We really have no use for Broxton at this point. I have zero faith he would ever offer us anything more than a late inning defensive replacement (who would probably get too many at bats during the course of a season). Glad we got something for him that might be of value in the future.
  6. While I agree defensive metrics not very accurate in general and even less so in small samples I think the eye test is also very suspect. It comes with preconceived ideas that is hard to filter out. If you think the guy is going to suck to begin with you are far more likely to remember the bad than the good. The same holds true the other way around. It's just human nature. I like Thames, I had no preconceived notions, just saw that he was horrible in the outfield last season. I now have those ideas in my head, but it came from watching him play bad outfield. lol
  7. I watch almost every game, and according to the eye test, Thames was a complete and total nightmare in the outfield. There is no possible chance that I am the only one that noticed this.
  8. Except when Thanmes was out there. Total nightmare.
  9. If he gets injured and misses large chunks of time in the first half, they will wish they had traded him this off season for sure...
  10. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic writes that the Brewers "like" free agent second baseman Brian Dozier. But it's unclear whether the two parties have engaged in any serious contract negotiations. Dozier would be a nice stopgap in Milwaukee until the arrival of top second base prospect Keston Hiura, and Miller Park would be a nice offensive environment for the veteran to attempt a bounceback after he struggled through much of the 2018 season. Dozier is also said to be drawing interest from the Nationals. He may have to settle for a one-year deal after batting .215/.305/.391 in 151 games between the Twins and Dodgers last year. Source: The AthleticJan 3 - 10:48 AM I'd be fine with adding Dozier on a 1 year deal...I hope this has legs.
  11. Man, you just bummed me out... All true though, which is pretty scary. We haven't done a thing yet to address the weaknesses that you mention. We caught lightning in a bottle with Miley and Chacin last year, can that even happen again?
  12. Has anyone seen any pint glasses, shotglasses, or signs regarding the 2018 Division champs? In 2011, this stuff was available all over the place, haven't seen anything this year... Did they make them?
  13. I can not express to you how disappointing that would be to go into the season with that as our plan...
  14. Hope JT enjoys another year playing for that trainwreck. I would guess he can't wait to get out of there...
  15. All the crap in the stadium would go to waste on me... I go to the games to actually watch the games. Nice to do things before the game starts, but once the first pitch is thrown, I'm in my seat for the long haul. Why do the ushers still allow people to go back to their seats during an inning? I remember when if you got up during the game, you were only allowed to go back to your seat at the half inning so you didn't have to disrupt entire rows of people from watching the game. Man, I find that annoying.
  16. Dubon has always been extremely over-valued here... I just don't see it. Hope he proves me wrong.
  17. I don't think that less than 15 million a year for 3 years was too much. I know to sign here we would be paying a bit more than that, but let's say 16 million per year, is that really too much in today's market? I'd have paid it. Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that Yusei Kikuchi will make $43 million over three years in his reported agreement with the Mariners. It's a unique contract. After three years, the Mariners can extend Kikuchi for four years at $66 million. If they don't, Kikuchi can either opt into free agency at age 30 or exercise an option for a fourth year at $13 million. He could max out at $109 million if the Mariners extend him. Kikuchi was posted by the Saitama Seibu Lions last month and faced a deadline of January 2 at 5 p.m. ET to sign with an MLB team. Source: Jon Heyman on TwitterJan 1 - 12:19 PM
  18. Or, and I know this sounds crazy, the Mariners offered him the most money and best deal...
  19. ..and never win squat!
  20. If there was a like button, I'd be hitting it!
  21. Do you view him as a threat though? I don't, and I doiubt our opponents will either. I think he is a depth signing, nothing more.
  22. Has Tulo ever played 2B in MLB?
  23. That looks like about 3 different injuries these days...
  24. Yup, it is a given...
  25. Really? How many games did he play there? Jesus at 3B would be a total nightmare. Imagine that infield for 2 months... By that time, we may have played our way out of the playoffs.
