  1. That is such a great album (Blackout) in general...One of my favs of all time. Nothing they did after even comes close...
  2. In all reality, there isn't much to discuss. They will be around that 100-110 million, not much deviation. Discussing their payroll is kind of a waste of time. They won't be players in any big time free agents, we might be able to snag a bargain the later it gets, but that is really about all we can expect. The way the Dodgers are set up right now, it's probably a good idea to do nothing anyway. Nothing we can do now will be enough to knock them off the top of the heap. MLB is broken, the sooner we all accept it, the better off we will be.
  3. They are in on Bregman too from what is being reported.
  4. He has far more than a "bat waggle." His entire approach at the plate is about as busy as any I've seen. We shall see. I hope for nothing other than the best for him, he's an awesome teammate, and great player.
  5. I beg to differ. I watched him for a full season in Appleton. He was awesome, but you can't watch him in the batter's box and not be concerned that all that extra movement isn't going to be an issue at some point.
  6. If the best we can hope for is Rodgers or Dejong, that is pretty sad. I really want nothing to do with either of them. Gross.
  7. Arienamo and all his crazy batting stance and movement worries me. Don't get me wrong, loved him as a T-Rat last year, but if that stuff doesn't get calmed down, will it play in the higher levels? I hope so, but I think he is going to have to make some changes.
  8. Exactly. I hope teams stick to their guns. Don't think the Dodgers need him, so we don't have to worry about them swooping in and getting him below market value. Well, I shouldn't say that, I suppose if he is still available in a couple weeks, they might sneak in and snag him. Some of these guys are really over-shooting the market. Usually it's a Boras client, which I find funny.
  9. We have a bunch of guys pegged for DH time. Contreras obviously when not catching, figure 20-30 games at DH. Yelich even more obviously since we don't know how he'll be once the season starts, at the very least, he'll be seeing DH time just for back management throughout the season. I'm going to guess he gets 1/3 of the season at DH, possibly more. Lets say 50-60 DH games. Hoskins, hopefully gets to DH a LOT! If he is our full time 1B, yuk... Considering Yelich and Contreras with about 80 DH games, that leaves Hoskins with about 82 or so. We know he'll be playing some 1B, but I sure hope it isn't 80+ games there.
  10. What are we trying? Placing comments in random threads that have nothing to do with the forum they are placed in? I don't get it...
  11. It's to the point now where they should be embarrassed, but nope, they just keep on adding guys. Bregman or Alonso next? Flaherty?
  12. Or not... Why make excuses, the Dodgers are taking over, and everyone seems to be fine with it. I hope you guys enjoy seeing the Dodgers win another 3 or 4 rings in the next few years. This is as close to a juggernaut/dynasty that we've seen in a while in MLB. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  13. I think someone needs to explain to Mr. Trueblood where to post. This isn't the first time he has placed posts in the wrong room.
  14. MLB might, but I doubt the players ever will...
  15. Unbelievable, I mean, this is now getting cartoonish... Baseball is broken. The Dodgers are signing Tanner Scott to a four-year, $72 million deal, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Well, that’s one way to make sure he won’t be striking out Shohei Ohtani in October. Scott, 30, has been one of baseball’s best relievers the last two years, posting a 2.04 ERA in 150 innings. This probably settles the closer question in L.A.; though Scott doesn’t necessarily need to be in that role, the paycheck demands that he get the first try over Michael Kopech and Evan Phillips. 16. In 3 of the last 8 seasons, the highest paid team was in the World Series. That's pretty good odds in my book.
  17. So, 8 of the 10 years listed, at least one of the teams that made it to the world series was in the top 5, 7 of the 10 were in the top 4, and 3 of the 10 were (#1) the highest payroll team in all of baseball. If anyone is trying to say that team salary makes no difference, this proves it in fact does. I know we have those here who like to say and act like we don't need to spend money to win, and why a small market team's fans would take that side is beyond me, but at the very least, it sure as hell improves your chances.
  18. Now I see that the Phillies and Reds both made trades with the Dodgers at the last minute to give the Dodgers more pool money. Why would any team, at this point in the Sasaki drama, be willing to help the Dodgers acquire him? This entire situation is/was just plain gross.
  19. Getting ready for another bite of that damn apple...
  20. I'd love to know if we even bothered calling Rosaki... Not that we are ever tied to anyone in the media, but would love to know that we at least made an attempt.
  21. They might make a call to say they did it, but that is as far as it will go. I think we all know that.
  22. Like I said, it is unlike me to confront someone in public, but this was just such a selfish thing to do, and rather than roll my eyes and ignore it, I couldn't stop myself from saying something this time. It did no good though, all it did was raise my blood pressure from her reaction, or lack of reaction. Sometimes, it's just better to realize that there are trash people out there, probably more now than ever...
  23. Nah, I'd take the Dodgers for the repeat. The team they have built for 2025 is even better than 2024, in which they won it all. It's just a gross stain on the game, and all we can do is pout about it.
