  1. I don't want to see him in a pinch hitter role. He needs regular at bats daily. His only real chance at daily at bats seems to be between OF, 1B and DH. I don't think he is considered any longer at 3B or 2B. We need to know if this kid is the hitter some think he is. The only way to do that is to not jerk him back and forth between MLB and AAA all season long. He needs regular at bats. He needs to e allowed to fail and not worry about being up and down between levels all season. Give him at the very least a full month of full time playing time to figure things out.
  2. Not a chance we see Black at 3B...............................EVER! That ship has sailed.
  3. They had me at Lovedrive and Animal Magnetism, but Blackout sent me over the edge! That album is just plain killer! I still listen to it to this day. The stuff that came after Blackout, though not bad, just didn't measure up. That 3 album stretch from Lovedrive to Blackout was their absolute peak imo.
  4. Agreed, that's my point. Suffering through another season of FAR too much playing time...
  5. The Reds are doing some things... Cubs are still tied to some free agents too. I do not think the division is going to be the cakewalk it has been this year. Still not worried about the Cubs until they actually add some guys, but the Reds are threatening imo...
  6. He was horrible in Seattle, shocked he wanted to go back to that hitter's hell.
  7. Even if you call it a form of gambling, MLB loves gambling now, they can't get enough... Look at all the sponsorships, billboards in the stadiums, etc. MLB is all about gambling now. Sorry Pete Rose. RIP.
  8. We are going to have to suffer through another season of Bauers on the team.....................aren't we? Man...
  9. They won't...We'd have to severely overpay to get Lowe from them.
  10. Absolutely. It's too bad we will complicate things by throwing Yelich in LF even though the other 4 are way better fielders than he is. Yelich either needs to learn 1B or strictly DH every game that Contreras isn't DHing...
  11. Not a chance I'd take that offer. Money talks, and the only thing I'd be looking for after pulling that card is cash, the most I could get.
  12. The card collectors do, anyone not in that hobby would think this is just crazy talk...
  13. Bummer. Seems like a no-brainer for us, but I guess the Reds jumped in and snagged him. Just seems odd that we weren't the ones to get him. Reds signed LHP Wade Miley to a minor league contract. Miley is making his way back from Tommy John surgery and hopes to resume pitching in the majors before the end of May. The 38-year-old made just two appearances for the Brewers last season, but he was very good in 2023, going 9-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 23 starts. He had maybe the best season of his career with the Reds in 2021, going 12-7 with a 3.37 ERA in 163 innings. Source: Gordon Wittenmyer
  14. I am so so so so thankful that guys on this page are not the Brewers GM. lol Way too much to give up for rentals, just crazy talk. The Arraez deal, sure, do it, the other two, no freaking way.
  15. That is such a great album (Blackout) in general...One of my favs of all time. Nothing they did after even comes close...
  16. In all reality, there isn't much to discuss. They will be around that 100-110 million, not much deviation. Discussing their payroll is kind of a waste of time. They won't be players in any big time free agents, we might be able to snag a bargain the later it gets, but that is really about all we can expect. The way the Dodgers are set up right now, it's probably a good idea to do nothing anyway. Nothing we can do now will be enough to knock them off the top of the heap. MLB is broken, the sooner we all accept it, the better off we will be.
  17. They are in on Bregman too from what is being reported.
  18. He has far more than a "bat waggle." His entire approach at the plate is about as busy as any I've seen. We shall see. I hope for nothing other than the best for him, he's an awesome teammate, and great player.
  19. I beg to differ. I watched him for a full season in Appleton. He was awesome, but you can't watch him in the batter's box and not be concerned that all that extra movement isn't going to be an issue at some point.
  20. If the best we can hope for is Rodgers or Dejong, that is pretty sad. I really want nothing to do with either of them. Gross.
  21. Arienamo and all his crazy batting stance and movement worries me. Don't get me wrong, loved him as a T-Rat last year, but if that stuff doesn't get calmed down, will it play in the higher levels? I hope so, but I think he is going to have to make some changes.
  22. Exactly. I hope teams stick to their guns. Don't think the Dodgers need him, so we don't have to worry about them swooping in and getting him below market value. Well, I shouldn't say that, I suppose if he is still available in a couple weeks, they might sneak in and snag him. Some of these guys are really over-shooting the market. Usually it's a Boras client, which I find funny.
  23. We have a bunch of guys pegged for DH time. Contreras obviously when not catching, figure 20-30 games at DH. Yelich even more obviously since we don't know how he'll be once the season starts, at the very least, he'll be seeing DH time just for back management throughout the season. I'm going to guess he gets 1/3 of the season at DH, possibly more. Lets say 50-60 DH games. Hoskins, hopefully gets to DH a LOT! If he is our full time 1B, yuk... Considering Yelich and Contreras with about 80 DH games, that leaves Hoskins with about 82 or so. We know he'll be playing some 1B, but I sure hope it isn't 80+ games there.
