Man I hope MLB's uniforms don't continue down that path...
This is how it starts. Huge Nike swish, advertising on the sleeve...
Next thing you know we'll have an advertisement on the upper leg, then it turns into that mess we see above.
This is why I was totally against it when the advertising on the uniforms started.
It's just gross.
Contreras was not going to keep that pace up all season, add that to the fact that he was over used.
From this point on, he needs rest, simple as that. Maybe less than most catchers, but he better not be playing the next 70+ games again.
It would be extremely risky to trade Adames at any time this season. The time to do it would have been last off season.
He is one of our leaders, and trading him could really effect our offense, both physically and mentally.
Unless we get an unreal haul for him (not likely) I think we keep him.
Rea deserves to be the game one starter, however, knowing MLB and how things work, we all know that we'd trot Freddy out there for game one because he is "supposed" to be our best starter.
How sad is our starting situation that we are actually arguing that Rea is our best starter?
Gross.
Give up Brown Jr. AND Blalock for 2 months of Kikuchi is insane.
Nope, not going to do that one. Adding a guy like Kikuchi isn't going to strengthen our chances of beating LA or Philly in a playoff series. There would have to be a lot more moves made before that one would interest me.
We are what, at least 2 top notch starters and a big bat from being serious about advancing in the playoffs.
I'm not trading Brown and Blalock for 2 months of a starting pitcher that isn't having a very good year as it is.
It's all about his ability to stay on the field. He hasn't proved that he can stay healthy.
Yeah, he'd look great in our line-up, can't argue that, but trading the farm for a guy who will more than likely play less than 100 games a season is the issue.
It was only a matter of time before he wore down, and that time is here.
I don't know how anyone in the dugout didn't expect it to happen at some point. By that I mean Pat Murphy.
He needs a breather, and once that meaningless record is established, hopefully they can give him a 1 or 2 game rest.
