  1. So who takes over as closer if he is out for an extended period of time? Uribe? Payamps? Someone else?
  2. I don't think his bat plays at 3B though. We have to have some degree of power in the line-up, and typically, power comes from the corners. (1B and 3B) I can see this in a pinch, but I'm not sure it is a good solution on a regular basis.
  3. This one still hurts. We will regret this one in the near future.
  4. After reading the below blurb, maybe the Dodgers are re-opening the thoughts of getting Adames from us? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dodgers manager Dave Roberts refused Thursday to name Gavin Lux the team’s starting shortstop. It’s notable that Roberts lack of a vote of confidence comes on the heels of several defensive miscues by Lux at shortstop in recent days. He added that performance matters and the club will do what is best for the team. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the 26-year-old will need some time to knock the rust off after missing last year with a torn ACL, but his throwing issues could lead to Los Angeles seeking an alternative at the critical defensive spot, at least temporarily. It’s not like Enrique Hernández is even passable at shortstop at this point in his career, but Miguel Rojas is still a viable defender at the spot, and the tandem could fill the void at least initially. 5. What does Curt Hogg know that we don't know? I highly doubt Wiemer's opening day roster is secure... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joey Wiemer told reporters he’s fine after making an early exit from Thursday’s game against the White Sox. Wiemer checked out fine after being shaken up a bit on a play near the right-field wall defensively during Thursday’s Cactus League affair. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a frosty start at the dish, but his spot on Milwaukee’s season-opening roster appears to be secure. Source: Curt Hogg
  6. Because some of the big money teams could easily scoop up either guy for a 1-2 year deal, and it's a lot more realistic thinking they would grab them up if what we are hearing is true. It's not like we are making a secret deal under the table for Snell, that no other team is aware of. If he's available for a 1 year deal, you can bet Boras has let everyone know, not just the Brewers. It can happen, but the odds are probably really really really really low.
  7. Trevor Bauer is expected to pitch for a Japanese travel team against Dodgers’ minor-leaguers on Saturday. The 33-year-old is hoping to get noticed by professional scouts and this is one way of doing it. The team he’s playing for is called Asian Breeze, a traveling club from Japan that plays scrimmages against squads of minor-leaguers from MLB clubs. Ironically, he will be going up players within the Dodgers organization. Los Angeles has distanced itself from Bauer since he was released in January of 2023 after serving the longest suspension (194 games) in the history of MLB and MLBPA’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy. This will be closest Bauer has come to a MLB-affiliated competition since his suspension. Source: Bill Shaikin

  9. Thanks for the reminder. :(
  10. Has Chourio been struggling defensively? Why else would he make that comment?
  11. This is great advice now, and throughout the season.
  12. Really, there are nothing BUT questions after Peralta. Things could go horribly wrong pretty quickly with a couple injuries here and there. God help us, but what if Freddy goes down for an extended length of time? Say he misses 4-6 weeks at some point. I shudder to think it...
  13. lol I thought the exact same thing. Teams might do anything in desperation...
  14. Barfly - Something about this movie always brings me back. Keeper! Black Swan - An interesting, and at times disturbing and confusing, movie. This is the first time I have seen it (bought the dvd on a whim a couple years ago but never watched it until now), and don't feel the need to watch it again. Loved the ending though. (Plus, I love Natalie and Mila! A definite bonus if you've seen the movie)
  15. I don't think that would be because he is overly excited, I think Wilken is legit, and I still think he plays with the Brewers at some point this season!
  16. I like your optimism, I just don't share it.
  17. This is the bottom line as I see it: With the rotation as it currently sits, this will not be a playoff team in 2024. Defense and bullpen should be great. Offense, hopefully improved, but there will be a lot of growing pains with the youngsters. The rotation is the obvious question mark, and for things to advance to a playoff caliber team, we are going to have to have a lot of things go right with this group. I'm skeptical, but can't wait to see what happens.
  18. Keeping all these in the collection, nothing new to add to the dump pile yet: Bad Boys Trilogy - Fun movies to watch, but the way the third one ended, I don't think I'll be interested in anything from that franchise in the future... I find Will Smith to be irritating these days since his ridiculous hissy fit with Chris Rock. Behind Enemy Lines - Not one of my favorite war movies, but still a fun watch... Took me a little while to buy Owen Wilson in this role, but once I got used to him, it was fine. Best of Enemies - Love this movie! Big Daddy - Good movie to watch to kill some time or take your mind off things. Not a huge Sandler guy myself, but this one is entertaining. The Big Lewbowski - I am not into this movie as much as a lot of people, and I realize it has a pretty big cult following, but I do like it, so it's a keeper. Beverley Hills Cop Trilogy - Kept them all!
  19. Actually, what is best for the team is to not have Yelich in the OF much at all. If it truly is about winning, and our outfielders are as good as we hope, Yelich shouldn't be out their with his average fielding.
  20. I'm not sure anyone here hates the man Craig Counsell, I don't hate him personally, but as a sports fan, I will throw all my hate his way until he retires. Sports fan hate is a lot different than personal hate imo. I hate that he's a Cub, and I hate the Cubs, so yeah, I guess you can take that any way you want. Craig Counsell is the enemy, and I wish him the poorest luck this world has to offer.
