  1. Maybe he wanted to return to the Brewers all along. How do we know if he had gotten any other offers? Maybe he had more than one, and chose to stay in Milwaukee where he is comfortable. We simply don't know.
  2. Needle moving signing for sure.
  3. Just another movie to add to the Super Hero over-kill... I'm pretty much done with them all. I want to go to a movie tomorrow, but don't see a single one that I have any interest in seeing. This happens a lot. Kind of sad that I want to spend my money, but there isn't anything to spend it on.
  4. I simply will not count the Cardinals out until they are mathematically out. Too much history here to act like they won't have a say in the division before all is said and done.
  5. I truly hope that Murphy has a different take on line-up composition and a lot of other things having to do with playing time, etc. I think we truly needed a new view on things.
  6. Ghostbusters : Afterlife I'm late to the party on this one, but wife and I watched it tonight for the first time. Light year's better than the female version they put out a few years ago. Not one mention of that movie or those characters in Afterlife, so I'm assuming the studio would like us all to forget it existed, and rightfully so. Anyway, enjoyed this one quite a bit. Having the original guys make appearances in the film was an ingenious touch. Just tickled me to see them in those old roles again. Hopefully they will be back for the new one coming out this year.
  7. Oh man, if he goes to the Cards or Cubs, that will suck butt.
  8. That is debatable... (and has been debated to no end on this board, so I won't bother)
  9. From what I read, it sure doesn't look like it.
  10. Good for him, I hope he mashes his way into the line-up!
  11. Simple fact of the matter is this. We could have a "decent" rotation, and I use that word as a positive, but it's going to take a lot of things to fall into place to hit decent. We'll have to have a couple guys pitch better than they previously have in their careers. We'll have to have some guys who always get hurt stay relatively healthy. We'll probably need a couple guys to have career years. We'll need some unproven guys to step up and meet the challenge at the MLB level. We'll 1000% need Peralta to take the next step into ACE country! I see so many things that can go wrong, so I just can't get warm and fuzzy feelings from our rotation as it sits. We are not going to put a powerhouse offense on the field (praying we can be league average), so our pitching is going to have to step up if we have a shot at good things. I'm not too concerned about the bullpen, but our starting rotation has more question marks and uncertainties than things to make me giddy with optimism. That's where I stand, but can't wait for this season to start to see what happens!!
  12. Especially "projections" that so many here view as gospel.
  13. Stop with the Lux nonsense. He is coming off 2 major injuries. With our farm, we simply no longer need him. HEAVY pass on any deal that sends Lux to the Brewers. Maybe your Cubs would want Lux?
  14. Where will he start out 2024? Carolina?
  15. Actually, I just started season 2, and so far, I like it. It is what it is, but I like it so far. Hank sure does find new and exciting ways to sabotage his relationship with Karen, that's for sure.
  16. I know Cabrera has been a target of many people here, the latest news: According to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pirates are in active trade talks with the Marlins to acquire right-hander Edward Cabrera. Mackey confirms that the Pirates remain in active discussions to acquire a starter both via trade and free agency, but talks with the Marlins appear to have gained steam, and Cabrera is the pitcher they are most willing to part with. While the 25-year-old has plus raw stuff and has pitched to a 4.01 ERA with 221 strikeouts in 197 2/3 innings (41 starts), he also has some major problems with control. In his brief career, he averages 5.4 batters walked per nine innings, which has some people believing he fits best as a reliever. If the Pirates were to acquire him, they would certainly slot him into the rotation, but their previous inability to develop starters like Tyler Glasnow, Joe Musgrove, and Gerrit Cole makes it questionable that they would be able to fix Cabrera’s command issues. Additionally, if the trade were to happen, it would seemingly give A.J. Puk the inside track to make the Marlins rotation. 3h ago Source: Pittsbugh Post-Gazette
  17. How many of them are Boras clients?
  18. Woodruff signing with who?
  19. Looks like I've stumbled into another urinating contest... If Gasser ends up being a #2 or #3 for the remainder of his contract, then his service time is definitely something to consider. If he ends up being a back of the rotation starter for that same time period, then his service time probably means nothing, like stated above. If that is the case, I doubt he is still around or that we even care at that point. Simple fact is, we have no idea where he shakes out. If it only takes 2 weeks to save him a full year of service time, then it seems the obvious choice to keep him in AAA for the first two weeks. (Is that accurate? Does he really only need to start the season in AAA for 2 weeks for us to get a full year longer? Seems unlikely)
  20. Giants sign Soler, 3 years 42 million. Comes out to 14 million per season. They will probably regret this decision in year 3 of this contract. Maybe even in year 2. If that was the going rate, I'm glad we were not in on that. I'd have been fine with one year at 14 million, but no more.
  21. I'm a little surprised there isn't more outrage online about the douchary that took place there. Hyped up, lots of emotion, whatever, that behavior should not be allowed without repercussion. I know there isn't a coach on the planet that would do this in the super bowl, but he should have been immediately benched and removed from the sideline. A total lack of respect, and for all the world to see. Shame.
  22. Prayers to you and your family...
