  1. Cardinals only batted 237 in that series and that includes a strong Friday game. Our pitching did solid. Just gotta cut back on the long ball .
  2. Burnes gave up 2 solo shots to two mvp caliber hitters. The DeJong home run was a good pitch after a bad luck infield single. Those three home runs end up two doubles and a line out, which is the luck factor in baseball, and he pitches 6 innings and gives up 1-2 runs and strikes out 12. It was a good start and there is a lot to be excited for.
  3. These in game threads should be changed to “White Hot Takes r us”
  4. Ok, so let’s approximate that the Brewers were a 90 win team this upcoming year with Knebel. So, let’s now assume Knebel misses the year. I assume most of you now think we will win about 75 games. The pessimism on this board can be exhausting .
  5. In the last week, this team has signed two good solid major league proven bullpen guys with no major warts and we gave up very little. Wilson and Fields are exactly the type of pickup we always do. Torres in 16, Hughes in 17 and Jennings in 18. All 3 of those guys were a net positive to the team all year. Good signings
  6. Lol, who’s doing the catching
  7. What the Knebel situation does mean is that likely the rumors were not some scheme to get another team to up their offer. It would seem that our interest and our talks with him are actually happening.
  8. While the Grandal signing came out of the blue, the Moustakas signing was rumored here and there for a few weeks.
  9. Brewers 93 Cardinals 89 Cubs 87 Pirates 82 Reds 78
  10. Coming to Milwaukee Aug 19-26, for the homestand. what are the best brewers related restaurants or must see restaurants that my family and I should hit. every one is 15 and older. thanks
  11. Trade Santana, Peralta, Villar and Houser for Archer Trade Nottingham, Woodruff, Ortiz, Erceg and Lutz for Realmuto We are in great shape for this year, and while we take a major prospect hit and a solid depth hit, we would still remain in good to great shape at every position for the next 3-4 years. SP Nelson 20 Anderson 21 Archer 21 Chacin 19 Burnes 24 Davies 21 Guerra 22 Diplan Zack Brown Wilkerson Derby C Realmuto 20 Pina 21 Betancourt 1b Aguilar 22 Thames 20 Gatewood 2b Hiura 25 Perez 20 Saladino SS Arcia 21 Dubon 25 3b Shaw 21 OF Cain 22 Yelich 22 Braun 21 Broxton 21 Ray Grisham Thames RP Knebel 20 Hader 23 Jeffress 21 Albers 19 Jennings 19 Williams 23 Soria 19 maybe Barnes 21
  12. How about this offer : Peralta Santana Villar Houser
  13. How about this offer: Nottingham Woodruff Ortiz Erceg Lutz
  14. Do you guys recommend the Mexican Fiesta as a source of entertainment?? My family will be in town from Aug 20-26 for 5 brewer games and am looking for something to do on that Saturday. Thanks
  15. why can't Shaw play 2nd, he's an infielder, it's a shorter throw, less hot shots to deal with. yes there are double plays to see about and other intricacies, but he's an infielder playing an infield position. we is an average 3b and he will be an average 2b .
  16. I have no link, but according to my son, a Brewers nation Instagram is reporting that Brett Phillips was seen giving out hugs in the Colorado springs dugout
  17. I'm a western Pennsylvania lifelong brewer fan, and this year I put together a group of 9 guys to split a Pirate Season Ticket Package. Tonight was my 7th trip to PNC Park this year (2nd game vs Brewers) . On the nights I have attended a game, the Brewers are 0-7.. It's diabolical and it's starting to get personal for me. Just thought I'd share
  18. Counsell spent extra time with the team according to Dario Melendez and did not have his presser after the game like usual...... hmmmmmmmm
  19. A solid reason to consider Happ is the fact we face the Reds, Pirates, and Cubs a lot the remainder of the season and those teams have very prominent lefties in their every day lineup. Cubs have Schwarber Rizzo and Heyward Reds have Votto Gennett Schebler and Winkler Pirates have Meadows Dickerson Bell Moran and Polanco Happs opponent ops for lefties this year is only 502 We play the Reds 9 times, Pirates 14 times and the cubs 8 times to equal 31 games which is 40 % of our remaining games. Happy could help neutralize those lefties in may be 6-7 of those 31 games
  20. Every team trades what are considered spare parts. Woodruff would go right into their rotation as he is a borderline top 100 prospect. Brett Phillips is a top 10 Brewer prospect and still young and could immediately see plenty of playing time in Kansas City. Villar would provide the same role for them as he does for us. One teams spare parts are another teams starters.
  21. The post actually just showed that it doesn't come close to emptying the farm
  22. Someone mentioned in one of the threads that perhaps the Brewers were looking to get Merrifield to make it more comfortable to trade Hiura. This makes a lot of sense to me and here's my proposals. MIL gets Merrifield KC gets Woodruff Villar Phillips and Supak MIL get Syndergaard NYM get Hiura Burnes Santana and Ray I think very fair for all teams involved. MIL is left with this for players available to help in 2020 C Pina Nottingham Bandy 1b Thames Aguilar Gatewood 2b. Merrifield Perez Dubon 3b. Shaw Perez SS Arcia Perez Dubon OF Cain Yelich Braun Broxton Thames Stokes Grisham Merrifield SP. Syndergaard Nelson Anderson Guerra Peralta Surer Davies Ortiz Z Brown Wilkerson Derby RP. Knebel Hader Jeffress Williams Barnes Lopez Houser N Ramirez QTC Griep any of the above mentioned starters should the need arise. We would still be pretty set both offensively, defensively and starting and relief pitching Thoughts??
  23. Woodruff is starting tonight in CS, so he could easily slide into Suters spit if they decide to remove him
