  1. I too think Cuban would be a lot of fun, but I would be saddened if Attanasio sold out. I like that he often has his wife and/or kids and/or other family members with him when he's at Miller Park. I like how he seems to just be kicked back, watching the ball game. I like that he has his father sing The Star Spangled Banner every year on opening day. And even though I'm pretty sure we have nothing in common whatsoever outside of Brewers baseball, I think I could enjoy having the Attanasios over for a cook-out.
  2. Due to his whining about it, I predict that that line will come back to haunt Molina until the end of time. He'll hear it at every road game. There will be signs, T-shirts, etc. Had he just played baseball, and not whined, He'd probably never hear it again. Edit: The mileage the Cubs fans alone are going to get out of this is staggering.
  3. Good Lord, no. I hope we're not that desperate for something to hang our collective hat on.
  4. I posted early on in this thread that I find TH to be a much better writer than AW. I don't think there's even any debate over that. However, I've noticed something else that bugs me. Beat writers should indeed be objective, and I think TH is fairly objective, but AW really seems to enjoy bashing the Brewers. Even in a fairly well-played Brewers win, AW will find some negatives in it, and those negatives will be the focus of his blog. He'll rail on (insert starting pitcher here) for only going 5 innings and giving up 4 runs (3 earned), and the terrible defense due to a tough error that could have gone either way and a couple of "seeing eye singles." Finally, almost as an afterthought, he'll come up with a gem like: "Despite (insert starting pitcher here)'s poor performance and the terrible defense the Brewers still won, 14 to 5." Wait. Huh?
  5. Catch words and phrases bug me. They bug me a lot. Especially when they catch on all over the place. Corey Hart does not bat "in the 2 hole." He bats second. Perhaps players and managers use this type of jargon, but when others use it it is just ridiculous. Much like "getting a blow" or "taking a blow" in football as opposed to taking a break. Thank God "outlier" seems to be losing steam and hopefully will soon have run its course. Unforunately, "classless" continues to thrive; especially amongst 12 year olds, which makes it all the more annoying.
  6. This whole thing referred to as "baseball" was merely an outlier.
  7. For God's sake, someone remove that post before DM sees it and signs Ankiel.
  8. Ice a bro...? Damn crazy kids. Why can't ya have good clean fun like we used to? Wait 'til the "bro" is at the urinal and kidney-punch him... that'll get his attention.
  9. InsomniacInkRoss wins. Good luck topping that one, boys n' girls. Blaahahaha
  10. I thought it might be fun to have a thread about baseball personalities and their look-alikes. I've got 3 to start with; how many do you have? First off, we have announcer Joe Buck and Jimmy Neutron, boy genius. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/Look-alikes/buckneutron.jpg Following that, we have Brewers announcer Bill Schroeder and Floyd the barber from The Andy Griffith Show. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/Look-alikes/Untitled.jpg Last, and certainly not least, we have Brewers catcher George Kottaras and extreme athlete Travis Pastrana from Nitro Circus among other things. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/Look-alikes/kottaraspastrana.jpg Well what do ya think?
  11. I very much like BA, but Rock could go away. I think I'd pick Jenks over Cirillo, solely becausde of the absolutely horribly Time Warner commercial Cirillo did last time he was here. He was stiffer than Davey Nelson. Of course, he might be much more relaxed "just talking baseball" as opposed to delivering scripted lines, but man that commercial was bad.
  12. This never ceases to amaze me. One of the best things in the entire organization is the owner, yet every so often somebody comes up with this kind of conjecture. When an owner becomes meddlesome, it usually becomes very apparent very quickly. I've never seen any evidence of any kind that shows Mark A. as anything other than a great owner. I've never seen Mark Attanasio and Bigfoot in the same place at the same time. Clearly, Mark Attanasio is Bigfoot.
  13. Hey Mike, how's the Kaw treatin' ya?
  14. I personally would like to see the Brewers be the first MLB team to implement NFL type coaching. Hitting coach is your offensive coordinator and sets the lineup. Pitching coach is the defensive coordinator and handles the bullpen. Manager oversees the whole deal, telling his coordinators what type of general plan he'd like to use against given opponents.
  15. The plate belongs to the pitcher. Every inch of it. The pitchers that use all of it, no matter where the batter happpens to be standing, have always been my favorites.
  16. I had Charter out here in the country and the HD was terrible. My tv is 1080p, and I would get diagonal lines across the baselines when the camera waould pan across the field. Same for football, racing, whatever. Wherever there was a long, straight line, when the camera panned across it, I'd get these maddening diagonal lines across it. TV tech at Best Buy told me it was due to Charter broadcasting in "i" instead of "p". We switched to Dish, and not only are the lines gone, the picture is better by far in every way.
  17. Try clearing the CMOS. Usually done with a jumper. You should be able to find the appropriate instructions for her specific mb on the net somewhere.
  18. When the Crew was in the AL, the Pirates were my NL team. I really feel badly for them and their fans. I think they should hire Ned Yost. I'll always believe that Yost was a big part of our turnaround. Great at turning nothing into something, but unable to go that next step.
  19. Perhaps you could have, but if that's your attitude about it, I highly doubt that you would have. Therein lies the difference.
  20. Next time we play the Cubs, I'd like to trade Provus for Santo for a couple of innnings. I'd love to hear Ueck and Santo together, each pulling for his own team. And there should definitely be a camera in the booth.
