  1. I've done plenty of fantasy BB, but I've never done a keeper league. I'd like to give it a shot if you all would let me.
  2. I like this fix. I would also recommend giving a shot to MalwareByte's Anti-malware. I've found it to be one of the better virus/trojan/etc killers out there. Do you have any other symptoms other than internet browsers crashing? Similarly, does it give you any specific errors when it crashes, or does it just bring up a message saying IE needs to close?
  3. Over the long term for a career, I'd take player A. Those stats are more likely to sustain themselves in the long term. Now, if we take into account position + defense...
  4. I remember seeing something similar this on this board: 2009 runs saved projections in CF: Cameron ~ +3 Braun ~ -8 Hart ~ -9 Obviously, I'm only guessing as to what was actually posted and I'm too lazy to do actual research on it. My question is this: Let's say that those projections hold up, and we trade Cameron to the Yankees for whatever. How many runs would Braun gain with his bat over average if he were playing CF instead of LF and lived to projections? A .300/.360/.570 CF would be worth a HUGE amount of VoRP offensively. Would the difference be more than 11 runs?
  5. I can't believe not a single a person has said Chappelle's show yet. The 2 seasons of that were as funny as anything ever released.
  6. I have no problems with Pedroia winning this award. The only person with a higher VoRP in the AL was Sizemore, and it was close. If Kinsler had stayed healthy and kept his line, I would probably be voting for him. I have major issues with Morneau getting 2nd. He wasn't even the best player on his team overall.
  7. Brewerguy, no offense, but how can you put David Wright at 2nd in the MVP voting if your criteria are Sept + playoffs? The Mets didn't make the playoffs.
  8. The thing is, there isn't a more sensical geographical conference for those teams. There aren't any college teams west of Denver and CC except for the two Alaska teams. MN and WI are the western most states with hockey teams for them. I think the reason they split up the Alaska teams was to even out the increased travel costs to 18 different teams instead of 8. If those other 8 teams in the conference had to make 2 trips to AK every year, it would cost them considerably more than any other teams in the nation (except the two AK teams).
  9. Family Guy: This show got stale after the 4th season. Seasons 1-3 were great, 4 was decent, and everything since has been AWFUL. I rarely laugh out loud at all if I watch an episode of Family Guy. It's a bad sign for a show if they become self-referential in the 4th season. Simpsons: It's reached the point of no return. There are good episodes here and there, but it's not worth it any more. Scrubs: Did anyone see the last episode of season 7? That was the worst Scrubs episode I've seen in my entire life. Things don't seem to be getting any better for it.
  10. You've likely got a busted power supply or a bad connection from the power supply to the computer. My guess is the former, though.
  11. I can live with either Lee or Halladay getting the AL Cy Young. If "the save stat definition just made me millions and millions of extra dollars I don't deserve" Rodriguez wins the AL Cy Young I will flip out.
  12. I have to agree with the gmail people. I like the gchat function as well. I don't have to have AIM or any other instant messaging service installed on my comp. All I need is a web browser. Plus, gmail is very customizable. I haven't really done anything with it, since I'm happy with the main set up, but you can install and mess around with a lot of addins. It's kinda like firefox in that sense.
  13. It would be really impressive if they somehow got more than 4 points. I think 3 is a more reasonable expectation than "at least 4."
  14. As a note, I've had it on in my radio on the way to and from work the last couple days, and I have heard the same song in every trip. One play of the same song was exactly one hour apart at one point. I like the idea of a hip-hop station to compliment 101.5 on my radio, but this is ridiculous. There's so much good rap and hip-hop out there, and they play NONE of it.
  15. It's halloween in Madison, and I'm stuck at work. This sucks. And blows. At the same time.
  16. I can honestly say I've never seen anyone with more upload than download. That's awesome.
  17. Work: http://www.speedtest.net/result/348165293.png
  18. Do any of you 1000+ uploads play Halo CE? You guys would be great hosts on XBC. http://www.speedtest.net/result/347760125.png EDIT: That ping to Chicago bothers me a little. Madison to Chi-town should be around a 20-25 ping.
  19. This is boring and sad hockey. I can't believe the Badgers haven't won a game yet. The defense is just horrid this year.
  20. Rule out the possibility of invisible, flying, silent dragons in your room right now. Okay, now rule out the possibility of their existence anywhere. Is that reason to believe it? EDIT: If you want, put unicorns, fairies, leprechauns, etc in for the dragons. It's all the same. You can't make a conclusion and then attempt to find evidence to support it. You need to take what evidence you have, and what you know and/or can reason, and then go with the most logical choice. To respond to the thread: If you can't guess by the way I responded above, I don't believe in any of the common conspiracies/monsters that are prevalent in today's society. EDIT 2: If I were to find out about one specific possibility/question, it would be "Do any supernatural things actually exist?"
  21. Of course it is, UND hockey is literally the only thing in the entire state. I'm pretty sure that there are only 20,000 people in North Dakota, and half of them go to the games.
  22. Thanks for explaining my viewpoint trwi, that's pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I suppose it's time to change the avatar since the new season has started.
  23. Bar none my biggest complaint with Eaves is his special teams. Even when they won the national championship and had one of the top penalty killing units in the nation, they still weren't running a good system. His penalty kill and his power play are WAY too passive. We allow teams to set up shots and get rebounds because we don't challenge the puck on the penalty kill. On the power play, we take WAY too long looking for the perfect shot. Far more garbage goals are scored than by making a pretty play. Fire it to the net and crash. When we pass the puck around and waste time, we give up fast breaks the other way because they know we won't shoot unless it's perfect. When they know we won't shoot, they pressure us and we make mistakes. We're also waaay too dependent on our goalie. Shane Connelly is decent, but he's not anything near Brian Elliott. Your defensive strategy has to be adjusted for your goalie's weaknesses. Eaves doesn't do that On the good side for Eaves, though. He recruits extremely well, especially defensively. Go Badger hockey!
  24. That is pretty much exactly what I expected you to say. And I agree. Thank you.
  25. Ennder, would you say that OPS+ is more or less (or equally) valid when used as a team stat compared to its use as an individual stat? EDIT: I tried to phrase the question as neutrally as possible. I don't like using the word "valid," but I couldn't think of a better substitute.
