  1. Anyone in MLB 2K7 with a power rating over 50. The game is just too easy to hit home runs. I just beat Cincinnati 38-1 on the hardest difficulty and in the process hit 16 home runs. It also seems that the only hits I ever give up are bloop singles where the OF decides to slow down even though he has plenty of time to get the ball and home runs. I give up at least one a game, usually two, and I'm painting corners.
  2. Hardy would be better suited as a 3B in my opinion, but his offensive production would cease to be top tier for his position, and be about league average. That is, if he doesn't continue to hit at his 2008 pace. At .296/.361/.490, he'd still be in the top 10 or so. I personally don't expect him to hit like that for his career, though.
  3. Is Stetter really that bad of a LHP that we need to acquire another one? If we get a bullpen arm, just get the best one we can get at a reasonable price. Stetter will not be appreciably worse than several of the LHPs on the market, so why burn prospects to get one?
  4. Does anyone have a decent list of who is available? I could probably go through the rosters of every bad team and figure it out, but it's way easier to ask you all to do my work for me.
  5. "I've dropped him. Hope he's enjoying his money." I hope whoever picked him up is enjoying the steal. You should have traded him. Guarantee you can get good value off him.
  6. Is anyone else really excited for this series now? We win with McClung, and we've got Sheets and Sabathia still to go. 6 more outs for AZ and we're 2 back to the Cubs.
  7. A big key for this is if Yost will have the intelligence to give up on this idea pretty quickly. If McClung has two bad starts and Bush isn't pitching well at home, he damn well better end this platoon. If it works well, then whatever. I have no problems with it then. If it comes down to it, I'd better be seeing Bush get more of the starts.
  8. "I've got my Rock style keys to the game... 1) Don't give up runs. 2) Score more runs then them. " In fact, I think #2 would be sufficient for me.
  9. If what I'm doing now accurately represents work in business, sign me up for a 50k a year full time job.
  10. If it's a soft platoon and either is available off the bench, even if he is scheduled to start the next day, then I'm okay with it. I feel that Bush should be getting every start until he falters again, but whatever. If this is a strict platoon, then it's a waste of time and resources.
  11. He's only a left handed bat. His split against lefties is just horrid, even though he's batting right-handed.
  12. Screw the Padres for giving up 3 leads this past weekend and letting the Cardinals get a 4 game sweep. What a joke that team is.
  13. " You are also not counting the high number of starts he was forced to leave early or was on a limited pitch count because he was coming back from injury." So he made a start that wasn't a start because he only went 5-6 innings? What difference is there between one of those and a bad start where he only went 5? You're grasping at straws with that argument. I never made the claim that Sheets is the model of durability, but trying to act like he's Rich Harden or Chris Carpenter is faulty logic.
  14. In 2007, Sheets made 24 starts. In 2006, Sheets made 17 starts. In 2005, Sheets made 22 starts. That's 63/105 starts, which isn't great, but is significantly more than half. On top of that, he made every start in 2004 and has only missed 1 this year. There are far more injury prone pitchers out there than Sheets.
  15. As far as the Brantley discussion goes, I'm highly doubting that he is the PTBNL because he's being blocked by Sizemore. There's no reason to take another CF if you've got one of the best (if not the best) player at the position blocking him. Odds are on Green or Lucroy.
  16. Last year's Braun vs. last year's Cameron or Hart definitely is an edge to Braun. His offensive value was through the roof. But really, this stat is essentially the same as VoRP, except worse, in my opinion.
  17. Release him. He's clearly a clubhouse menace that could only be cured by the Brewers' awesome team chemistry.
  18. That's coming from WSSB, but they're probably just blowing smoke.
  19. It's been confirmed that the PTBNL was not anyone in AA (except maybe Cain who got promoted from A at the time of the trade).
  20. I don't trust a metric that rates Lance Berkman as the 9th best 1st baseman in the league this season (even with defense included). Absurd. EDIT: Whoops, it's 2007. I'm still pretty surprised by that. Did he really not have that good of a season last year?
  21. Can we also talk how awesome a name "Outman" is for a baseball player? I guess it's better for a pitcher, but I don't really care either way. He is OUT-MAN!
  22. I think 5 years 100 mil is the likely contract for Sabathia plus or minus a few million. I also think that there is no way we should be paying anybody that much, so I will wish him well and say thanks for your help after this season.
  23. I agree that LaPorta will be like Pat Burrell. Pat Burrell is really good, though, so I'm content with that. I would guess anything that LaPorta will be a better professional hitter than Gamel. High average in the minors with significantly less discipline will tranlate to an OBP of 60 points lower when you reach the pros (at least). I see Gamel as a Braun type with probably a little better discipline and a little less power. LaPorta is more of a Prince Fielder or Burrell type. EDIT: Even though he's not a Brewer, I can see myself rooting for LaPorta throughout his entire career. With him and Sizemore on Cleveland (and them playing games at Miller Park during snowouts), they might become my AL team.
  24. Well, the hit wasn't a hit, so I give Sheets 2 BB and 3 Ks. Not horrible, not great.
