  1. How did Peralta damage his expectations so much?
  2. If you're looking for a movie with an interesting storyline I'd suggest "Smoke" from the 90s. I like how they weave all the stories together. It can be a little slow and times but the ending is great, at least I thought so.
  3. The Braves' logo is not a total caricature, too? Again, sorry if this is drifting toward political territory.
  4. Not too tech savvy myself, but might it be easier to transfer the DVR programming onto your computer and burn a copy from there? May be easier than purchasing a DVD-Recorder. I know Tivo has software to transfer stuff to my computer although I've never used it. I'm sure there's something out there for a generic DVR.
  5. Don't mean to get too political on this forum but how in the heck did MLB approve the Braves' hat?
  6. I agree this is a good comp for Hart's value. Not sure how I feel about that.
  7. If you were the Red Sox, would you rather have Cody Ross at this price or Victorino at whatever he signed for? Neither is not an answer.
  8. His walk out music has to be "Figaro," right?
  9. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/12/twins-to-sign-mike-pelfrey.html
  10. Yeah I don't get it. I'll be fine eating some crow in September but I really don't see Dickey replicating his season last year again this year. I know the rules of age don't apply as much with knuckleballers as with a fireballer, but he REALLY came out of nowhere. Definitely not worth two top prospects.
  11. Good trade for both teams. Guess Harper is moving over to LF now? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/nationals-acquire-denard-span.html
  12. What's Michael Bourn going to get and is Upton really that much of an upgrade?
  13. So they would call us for the debt of an unrelated third party? The third party has the same first name as my SO, but their surnames are extremely different. It's not like we knew this guy so well that we'd have co-signed a loan with him or something. My concern was that somewhere along the line he might have listed our phone number (without our knowledge or consent) as a way to reach him. That would seriously piss me off, not to mention further justify why we ended the friendship in '05. Yeah, if you take out federal student loans, you are required to list two "references" who do not live with you in case they skip out on payments. Most likely you were listed by this guy as a reference. I always asked the people I had to list if I could list them before filling out my loan application. I'm not sure if ignoring the calls or answering and saying you were listed as a reference in error would be a better course of action.
  14. I believe the Marlins don't have a single player under contract for 2014. Shouldn't be too hard to just fold em up after this year. (semi-blue).
  15. Why is this trade bad for baseball? Sure, the Marlins are fleecing their fans and taxpayers who built that stadium, but the Marlins already were a horribly run franchise. With this deal, the Blue Jays become instant contenders and add even more competition to the AL East. I, for one, am excited to see just who will come out on top in that division next year. It will be stacked from top to bottom.
  16. Remember when people freaked out about trading away Thatcher and Inman? Not saying Linebrink was awesome but sometimes trading away prospects isn't as dire as it seems at the time.
  17. I agree with some others that Veras hasn't been all that bad and should at least be in the conversation to bring back. I definitely think we should look towards finding a lefty who is a true loogy or has some hard stuff as opposed to our lefty option this year (Parra).
  18. Man, how good has Schafer been hitting those balls down the line? Looks like he'll be a nice 4th OF next season.
  19. Well they weren't in DC so if they're a traveling band of idiots they seem be restricted to the greater Ohio River area.
  20. Wow, what a game! Went with my fiancee who is not a baseball fan at all but that 9th inning rally had her screaming louder than every other Brewers fan in the section. Had the unfortunate pleasure of sitting near the guy who would yell about Braun doing steroids every second but his hit in the 9th sure quieted him up. This streak has been unbelievable but I have all the faith that we can take over the Cards. Bring. It. On!
  21. Tangent -- Just realized Marcum will be starting the game I'm going to in DC. Blech. Yeah I don't feel too good about offering Marcum a QO either. Not saying the injury might still be hampering him but with his stuff, it might not be too good for him going forward. I guess I'd be ok with offering him a 1 year deal with incentives but I'm not sure if he'd take that.
  22. Mark A saying tonight is probably Rogers' last start.
  23. This would be perfect if the guy was wearing a Brewers shirsey. Still pretty awesome. http://h9.abload.de/img/guncelebgifg0awh.gif
  24. I caught a little of the Pirates game a day or two ago and he has some sort of leg issue. He was quite gimpy. It didn't seem serious, but probably something that merited some rest to make sure he's okay for the final month. I wonder if that's lingering soreness from when he crashed into the wall going after a hit in PIT from our last series?
