  1. Is it wrong one reason I'm excited about this is to see the St. Louis fans get up in arms the first time Edmonds untucks?
  2. The Twins and Mariners games aren't on FOX. FOX is doing special Saturday night telecasts on 5/22 and 6/26.
  3. I've been a 9 pack holder since they've been introduced, and the past few seasons I've gotten a letter mid-season stating if I upgrade to a 20-game package, I would get full postseason rights. I'm pretty sure they let you pick which 11 games you want out of the remaining ones. I've never done it, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I know they've offered it as an option.
  4. Wow, they're actually digging out the late '90s German unis? Those are ones I never thought I'd ever see again. Also, for the 2000s weekend, it seems weird to call it a retro game when they're just going to be wearing their normal uniforms. Now that I think about it, this is the 11th season in the current unis, it doesn't seem like they've been around that long. Also, for the Philly series, the Saturday game will be on FOX, and ESPN is doing the Sunday game, so the only game FSN is doing in that series is the Friday night game. Seems weird to say FSN will be featuring the greatest moments of the '70s throughout the weekend when they're only doing one game. Kind of bad planning on the Brewers parts.
  5. Leno also had shows like Law & Order and ER as lead-ins, shows that got big ratings, Conan had Leno, which didn't. Not to mention if people get to see a talk show at 9, they're less likely to stay up and watch one at 10:35. NBC's choice was not obvious, they could have given Conan a couple of years to find an audience at 10:35. NBC set Conan up to fail by sticking Leno at 9, and never gave him a chance to gain an audience. Let's not forget in Leno's first few years, he was beaten soundly by Letterman in the ratings. It wasn't until the Hugh Grant interview that Leno pulled ahead. Because it's a douche move. He pulled a Favre.
  6. I'll never forget that Friday night game against the Cubs the last weekend of the season in 2008. We're tied with the Mets for the Wild Card, game tied at 1 after five, and McClung comes in and pitches four scoreless, picking up the win and a game on the Mets. Definitely my favorite McClung memory.
  7. I'd be tempted to slot Zaun in as #2 because out of Zaun/Hart/Escobar, he's going to give you the best OBP. Plus his lack of speed won't be an issue in front of Braun and Fielder, as we likely won't be doing much running when those guys are up. You can get more use out of Hart's and Escobar's speed at the bottom of the order.
  8. Yeah, I definitely would have dropped $40 for a postseason sign. My friend and I live in the Fox Valley, we left at 7:30 to get there by 9 yesterday, not sure I would do that again, as it was like Black Friday. Like a said before, I got a really nice winter jacket for my dad for $50 which was originally $185, it was the last one on the rack, so it was worth it that way, although they could have had a ton more which they just restocked, I'm not sure. I also got a polo shirt for myself for $20, which was originally $60, so there are decent deals for clothes. I just bought a house, so I was hoping for more signage or household stuff, since as a single guy, my decorating scheme is Brewers. Last year they had this wooden cabinet with dartboard for $75, which I had in my hand and almost bought, but didn't. I so regret that now, as it would be perfect in my new basement.
  9. They had a bunch of game used jerseys for 2007-2008 players for $100. I saw a Branyan jersey, was going to get it, then looked at the price tag, $350. As much as I love 3TO, that's too much for me. I saw a Counsell game used jersey for $1,500. Who would possibly pay that much? They also had old locker nameplates for $10 a piece. I tried looking for a Branyan, but there weren't any. The nameplates for a lot of the backups and minor league callups for 2009 were also $10. Was debating on getting a Gerut, Rivera, or Narveson but decided to pass. I got a really nice winter jacket for $50 for my dad for Christmas. When I checked out, the guy told me it was originally $185, so it was worth it for me.
  10. I still remember a home run he hit off of Randy Johnson late in a game to give the Brewers a win over the Yankees. I don't know why, but whenever someone brings up Spivey's name, that's the first thing I think off. He was traded to Washington a week later.
  11. The World Series starts on Wednesday regardless of how long the LCS goes.
  12. Boy, you aren't kidding. In all four division series, the eliminated team lost a game by blowing a 9th inning lead. We've seen some amazing comebacks so far.
  13. Are these the Twins or the Brewers? They just keep making more and more boneheaded plays. They should be on the verge of going up 2-1 in the series, instead they're on the verge of getting swept.
  14. Wow, so is this the postseason of the 2 out nobody on base in the 9th comeback? Red Sox have a 6-4 lead on the Angels, and the Angels manage to string a bunch of hits together and get three off of Papelbon.
  15. The Cardinals surpassed the Cubs as my most hated team this season, and that quote by Wainwright is exactly why. They're just a bunch of sanctimonious whiners, and I hope Dodgers sweep those big babies right out of the playoffs. I haven't cheered that much at a baseball game since the Brewers were still in the race, that ending was just plain sweet.
  16. Chip just called a blooper a line drive, he's the grade A #1 example of why nepotism is bad.
  17. Yeah, I'll always remember Jesse Crain, I was at that game and it's probably one of the top 5 games I've ever attended.
  18. Chip Caray is an idiot and a terrible announcer. Screams "Base hit!" on a ball that's caught and turned into a double play.
  19. Braun fails to score on a wild pitch and Cameron GIDP on the next pitch. That's a possible two runs we should have had.
  20. Wow, Narveson has been amazing tonight. 8 Ks through 5 IP, 7 of them looking. He's been good since moving into the rotation, a possible #5 candidate for 2010?
  21. I'll say it, I'd like to see us hire Manny Acta. Yeah, he stunk it up with Washington, but that club was hopeless, it didn't matter who was managing them. He's a very open minded, stats-friendly manager. He's into sabremetrics, values OBP, doesn't like to bunt, values outs, etc. I think if he's given a decent team to work with, he'd be one of the top managers in baseball.
  22. The game is on FSN up here in the Fox Valley, hawing, not sure why it wouldn't also be on in Madison. Arizona with "Los D'backs" on their jerseys, how come we didn't bring the Cerveceros unis back out?
  23. I think Yo is a given, I was surprised they didn't do one for him this season. Bush is a good possibility, he's been around for four seasons now, and has the only postseason win by a Brewers pitcher in the past 27 seasons, I'd say he deserves one. McGehee is a decent choice with his breakout season. I could see Coffey getting one, he's been great and his entrance has made him a fan favorite. Cameron and Lopez are possibilities if either one are with the team next season.
  24. So was that the first triple play turned by the Brewers since the '99 home opener?
