AZL D'Backs 6 AZL Brewers 3 Box Score For all those freaking out about Clint Coulter's defense, Stryker Trahan is having many of the same issues (14 PB's on the season). Trahan was drafted just ahead of Coulter by the Diamondbacks. My point is that these raw defensive catchers with plus tools are known to make big jumps in short periods of time. I'd expect both Trahan and Coulter to be much better next season. Heck, Coulter has already shown some improvement as the season has progressed. The pitchers and Clint combined to throw out 4 of 9 attempted base-stealers tonight. One thing you should not be freaking out about is Clint Coulter's (1-3 3B BB) bat unless you freak out when excited. Dustin Houle (2-4) has stacked another solid game onto his recent mini hot streak and Angel Ortega (1-3 BB) was solid. Jose Sermo (2-4 HR) is a somewhat interesting guy. From P.R. via Bethany College (KS), Sermo is just 21, plays multiple positions, and is putting up a balanced ~.800 OPS in his 1st taste of pro ball. If he finishes really hot, he might warrant more investigation (He might already). Keep it up, Jose! Joel Dicent and Jonathon Armold were the piggy-backers tonight. Both had uneven outings with Dicent's being particularly ugly. Dicent has average approx. 1 K and 1 BB per inning this season. Armold had a stronger outing tonight and he has been one of the better pitchers in Maryvale all year. Anthony Banda pitched the final 2 innings giving up 3 H 1 R with 3 K. Game Log Messy Banda D. AZL D-backs Top of the 9th Miles Walding singles on a line drive to right fielder Jose Pena. With Damion Smith batting, Miles Walding picked off and caught stealing 2nd base, Miles Walding to 3rd. throwing error by Anthony Banda. Damion Smith strikes out swinging. Andrew Velazquez called out on strikes. With William Castillo batting, Miles Walding steals (2) home. William Castillo strikes out swinging. The Sharkey line out and two weak outs to end it make this one tough. AZL Brewers Bottom of the 9th Pitching Change: Donald Medlinger replaces Eric Meyerchick. Alan Sharkey lines out to shortstop Jose Munoz. Dustin Houle singles on a line drive to right fielder Alex Glenn. Jalen Harris singles on a line drive to right fielder Alex Glenn. Dustin Houle to 2nd. Angel Ortega walks. Dustin Houle to 3rd. Jalen Harris to 2nd. Malcolm Dowell called out on strikes. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-hitter Deivi Mejia replaces Dionis Hinojosa. Deivi Mejia pops out to first baseman Rudy Flores.

Missoula (D'Backs) 3 Helena 0 Box Score The desert snakes sent 3 pretty good pitchers to the mound tonight to face the Brewers and all 3 continued their season success with a 4-hit shutout of the Brewers. Ryan Gibbard started for Helena and he allowed 3 R on 7 H in 5 IP. Ryan did not BB anyone and got 7 GO's. He did uncork 2 WP's. Next was Damien Magnifico who tweeted this before the game: "Work everyday to get better so I can do my job every five days #pitchergrind Had my pregame orange today, time to work" If by every 5 days, he means the Brewers are stretching him out, then I am super pumped. His appearance tonight was fantastic, inadvertently awarding oranges with a bump in popularity in this household. 4 IP 1 H 0 R 0 BB 5 K 1 Balk 6:1 GO:FO for Damien. Our Helena IR friend Amber Kuhn reports that Magnifico was routinely hitting 98-99 on the stadium radar gun. Magnifico gets a healthy bump up my prospect list if the Brewers are confident he can start. At the dish, Ruben Ozuna singled to lead off the game and was later robbed of a gapper by a nice defensive play. He also misplayed two balls in the field giving him 6 errors already this season. Adam Giacalone had anther hit and Michael Reed went 1-3 with a BB. Game Log

'Tees top Jays in rain-shortened game 08/08/2012 10:25 PM ET By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees http://www.milb.com/images/2012/08/08/cwCsAc2R.jpg Manatees starting pitcher Brandon Williamson had his best start of the season as he allowed just one run on one hit, while walking one and tied a season-high with five strikeouts. Brevard County defeated Dunedin 5-1 in seven innings on Wednesday night at Space Coast Stadium. (Dennis Greenblatt/Hawk-Eye Sports Photography) VIERA, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees snapped the Dunedin Blue Jays' five-game winning streak and kept pace in the jumbled North division race as they won 5-1 in a rain-shortened, seven inning game on Wednesday night at Space Coast Stadium. Manatees starting pitcher Brandon Williamson (3-9, 6.20) had his best start of the season with Brevard (25-21 second half, 54-60 overall). He allowed just one run on one hit - a solo homer by Jon Talley to lead off the second - walked one and tied a season-high with five strikeouts. For Williamson, it was his first win since July 14 and his first quality start since April 25. After Dunedin (23-23, 65-48) took a 1-0 lead in the second, the 'Tees tied the game in the bottom of the inning as Mike Walker led off the inning with a double and came home two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Joey Paciorek. Brevard's bats busted out in the bottom of the fifth against Blue Jays starter Casey Lawrence as they roughed him up for four runs in the frame, all with two outs. With runners on first and second, Reggie Keen cleared the bases with a single to right and then took second on the throw home. Then back-to-back two-out RBI doubles from Jason Rogers and Walker gave the Manatees a 5-1 lead. Eric Arnett pitched a perfect seventh inning in relief of Williamson and after Brevard batted in the bottom of the inning, the rain started and the tarp went on the field. After about a 30 minute delay, the umpires made the decision to call the game and give the 'Tees just their fifth win in 14 games against Dunedin. The duo of Williamson and Arnett held the Jays to just three base runners. At the plate, the meat of the order got the job done for Brevard as Keen, Rogers and Walker had two hits each. Keen also drove in two runs. The 'Tees will close out their three-game set with Dunedin on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. Drew Gagnon (0-1, 3.21) will toe the rubber for Brevard as he is still in search of his first win as a Manatee. Gagnon has gone at least six innings in five of his seven starts with the 'Tees. Dunedin will send undefeated southpaw Sean Nolin (9-0, 2.18) to the hill. In his only other start against Brevard back on April 12, he threw 5.2 shutout innings and struck out 11. Nolan needs to be promoted.

Brevard County 5 Dunedin (Jays) 1 F/7 Box Score This one finished a little earlier than scheduled which is fine because we won. But not only did we win, we thoroughly dominated. Brandon Williamson pitched his best pro game and Eric Arnett went the final inning in equally impressive fashion. The combined line was 7 IP 1 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 7 K 1 HR 1 HBP 8:3 GO:FO. Only 25 blue jays saw the batter's box through 7 innings. At the dish, a hitting clinic was put on by the Manatees. The 1-5 hitters were unstoppable as they combined for 8 H in 16 AB with 3 2B and a BB. Mike Walker had 2 of the 2B's and Jason Rogers had the other. Btw, has anyone seen this gem? Game Log It was a hit-it-to-the-wall 5th inning for BC. Brevard County Bottom of the 5th Brent Dean grounds out, second baseman Jon Berti to first baseman Jon Talley. John Dishon doubles (4) on a line drive to center fielder Kevin Pillar. Franklin Romero Jr. strikes out swinging. Nick Shaw walks. Reggie Keen singles on a line drive to right fielder Kenny Wilson. John Dishon scores. Nick Shaw scores. Reggie Keen to 2nd on the throw. Jason Rogers doubles (9) on a line drive to left fielder Marcus Knecht. Reggie Keen scores. Mike Walker doubles (21) on a line drive to center fielder Kevin Pillar. Jason Rogers scores. Shea Vucinich called out on strikes.

AZL Dodgers 10 AZL Brewers 9 Box Score A furious comeback falls short for Baby Brewers. Josh Butler continues his rehab with 2 uneven innings tonight. He gave up a homer to a pretty nice prospect in Alex Santana. Danny Keller came on in the 3rd and he continues to get lit up. He got some GB's at least. Keller gave up a homer to super prospect Yasiel Puig. 2012 3rd rounder, Zachary Quintana, threw 2 pretty unspectacular innings to pitch the Butler and Keller efforts. Quintana has had some very nice starts, so just consider this a bump. At the plate, Dustin Houle (3-4) had his best game in quite some time. Edgardo Rivera (2-5 2B) keeps hitting. I did kind of expect more SB's from him but 5-6 in 17 games is nothing to scoff at. Clint Coulter went 0-4 with a BB, but he did manage to score 3 times and steal a base. Renaldo Jenkins (2-4 3B) hit a nice 3B. Malcom Dowell (0-2 2 BB 2 SB) was a tough out and a pest on the bases. Jalen Harris was back at the hot corner for the 1st time since July 14th. He is an interesting guy if he can stay healthy. Houle allowed his 12 PB and Jenkins committed his 10th error. Game Log Ortega is scuffling a bit. AZL Brewers Top of the 9th Pitching Change: Ricky Perez replaces Samuel Taveras. Renaldo Jenkins triples (2) on a line drive to right fielder Noel Cuevas. Malcolm Dowell grounds out, shortstop Jesmuel Valentin to first baseman Paul Hoenecke. Renaldo Jenkins scores. Edgardo Rivera doubles (4) on a ground ball to left fielder Cory Embree. With Clint Coulter batting, wild pitch by Ricky Perez, Edgardo Rivera to 3rd. Clint Coulter walks. Jose Pena out on a sacrifice fly to center fielder Gregory Pena. Edgardo Rivera scores. Alan Sharkey walks. Clint Coulter to 2nd. Dustin Houle singles on a line drive to left fielder Cory Embree. Clint Coulter scores. Alan Sharkey to 3rd. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Dionis Hinojosa replaces Dustin Houle. Jalen Harris singles on a fly ball to right fielder Noel Cuevas. Alan Sharkey scores. Dionis Hinojosa to 3rd. Angel Ortega called out on strikes.

Brevard edged in 12 innings by Jays 08/07/2012 11:55 PM ET By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees http://www.milb.com/images/2012/08/08/YhjsTteX.jpg Manatees right fielder Franklin Romero Jr. was 4-for-6 with a double, RBI, and two stolen bases in Brevard County's 3-2 loss in 12 innings to the Dunedin Blue Jays on Tuesday night. (Dennis Greenblatt/Hawk-Eye Sports Photography) VIERA, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees were one out away from victory until the Dunedin Blue Jays tied the game in the top of the ninth and eventually defeated the 'Tees 3-2 in 12 innings on Tuesday night at Space Coast Stadium, to open up a three-game series. With a 2-1 lead heading into the ninth, Brevard (24-21 second half, 53-60 overall) called on Casey Medlen to close out the game. Jack Murphy and Kevin Ahrens led off the inning with back-to-back singles, to put two runners on for Dunedin (23-22, 65-47) with no outs. After Oliver Dominguez sacrificed the runners over, Marcus Knecht was intentionally walked to load the bases and set up the double play. Jon Berti would make sure that didn't happen as he sailed a fly ball to right for the second out, but it was far enough to allow pinch runner Justin Jackson to score and tie the game. Medlen would punch out Kenny Wilson to end the inning and send the game to the bottom of the ninth tied 2-2. The Manatees went down in order in the bottom of the ninth and the Blue Jays were unable to muster a run in the top of the tenth as the 'Tees now had another chance to win it. Shea Vucinich led the frame off with a walk and then Parker Berberet attempted the sacrifice bunt and was successful and able to reach base himself thanks to a throwing error by pitcher Frank Gailey. Now with runners on first and second with no outs, John Dishon laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to put runners at second and third with one out and the winning run 90 feet from home plate. That run would not score however as both Juan Sanchez and Franklin Romero Jr. struck out swinging to end the threat and the inning. Alan Williams relieved Medlen in the 11th and retired Dunedin in order to give Brevard another chance for the win. A one-out single by Nick Shaw and then a walk by Jason Rogers put two runners on for Mike Walker. Walker was able to move the runners over on a ground out to third to again put the winning run 90 feet from home plate. Vucinich was then intentionally walked to set up a force at any base and then Berberet, who was ahead 3-0 in the count, would end up in a full count and ground out to second to end another 'Tees threat. So close. Williams came out for his second inning of work and allowed a lead-off single to Wilson and then Jonathan Jones reached on a throwing error by Vucinich to put runners on first and second with no outs. Kevin Pillar then laid down a successful sacrifice bunt and would reach first as well thanks to a throwing error by Williams, as the bases were now loaded. Jon Talley then singled to left to plate Wilson and give Dunedin a 3-2 lead. Williams would then retire the side and give the Manatees one last chance to keep the game going. Blue Jays closer Danny Barnes had other ideas as he pitched around a two-out single by Romero Jr. and was able to close out the game for Dunedin as the Manatees dropped the first game of a six-game homestand. Brevard County had a 2-0 lead early, thanks to a two-out RBI double by Nick Shaw in the third and a two-out RBI double by Romero Jr. in the fourth. Manatees starting pitcher Taylor Jungmann (9-6, 3.69) gave up his only run of the evening on a RBI ground-rule double by Talley in the top of the sixth. Jungmann was unable to win his tenth game of the year as he did not factor into the decision. He yielded four hits in six innings of work and walked two, while striking out four. The 2011 first round pick has now allowed just one run in his last 13 innings of work over his last two starts. Offensively, Romero Jr. recorded four hits on the night, which marked his first four-hit game since July 18, 2010 with Helena. Brevard County will look to snap Dunedin's five-game winning streak as the two teams meet again on Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. Brandon Williamson (2-9, 6.62) will take the mound for the Manatees and is looking for his first victory since July 14. He has a 7.01 ERA in seven second half starts. Casey Lawrence (7-5, 3.63) will get the ball for the Blue Jays. He is 5-2 with a 2.49 ERA in ten road starts this season.

Helena 7 Missoula (D'Backs) 0 Weak Missoula Game Story Box Score This one is on the short list of most well-played Helena Brewers games this season. Tremendous pitching goes first tonight with Taylor Wall and Martin Viramontes combining for the shutout. Together, they pitched 9 innings allowing 5 H 0 R 3 BB 9 K with a ridic 14:0 GO:FO. This was Wall's longest outing by far (6 IP). I kind of had to double-take his season line, as it was much better then I expected. Lot's of K's and a manageable amount of walks for the 6'2" 190 lb LHP. Viramontes had his good stuff as he K'ed 5 in 3 IP for a long save. At the plate, Helena sprayed out 14 hits. If you can say one thing about this team, it's that they like to hack at it. Ruben Ozuna (2-4 HR BB), Chris McFarland (3-5 2B), Adam Giacalone (2-4), Emmanuel Quiles (2-3 2B BB), Michael Reed (2-4 SB (10)) and Michael Turay (2-4 HR) all had multi-hit games. Ozuna homered on the 1st pitch in the bottom of the 1st inning. The D registered a clean sheet, including 4 turned double plays. That is sick. Well done guys! Game Log Wow, 0 fly outs for the away team. That is incredible to me.

Dunedin 3 Brevard County 2 F/12 Box Score Some good things in this tough loss. First Taylor Jungmann was fantastic. 6 IP 4 H 1 R 1 ER 2 BB 4 K 2 HBP 7:3 GO:FO. That is two gems in a row now for Taylor as he continues his solid but unspectacular 2012 season. The thing that should excite you is Taylor could be poised for a Jimmy Nelson-like breakout in 2013. Finish strong, like Nelson did last year, and that just might happen. Greg Holle continued the strong worm burning with a 5:0 GO:FO over 2 scoreless innings. Casey Medlen blew the save and Alan Williams took the loss. Check the game log and you will see it was clearly a strange way to lose. At the plate, not much was cooking. There was one hitter in the kitchen as Franklin Romero Jr (4-6 2B 2 SB) continues his strong play (7-23) since his return from injury. Nick Shaw (2-6 2B) was the only other multi-hitter. The 3-5 hitters (Jason Rogers, Mike Walker and Shea Vucinich) combined to walk 7 times along with a lone 1B from Rogers. Game Log This might be the craziest 1-run inning I have ever seen. It was also the deciding run in the 12th inning. Dunedin Top of the 12th Dunedin Blue Jays pitcher Frank Gailey ejected by HP umpire Mario Seneca. Kenny Wilson singles on a ground ball to shortstop Nick Shaw. Jonathan Jones reaches on a force attempt, throwing error by second baseman Shea Vucinich. Kenny Wilson to 2nd. Kevin Pillar hits a sacrifice bunt. Throwing error by pitcher Alan Williams. Kenny Wilson to 3rd. Jonathan Jones to 2nd. Kevin Pillar to 1st. Jon Talley singles on a line drive to left fielder John Dishon. Kenny Wilson scores. Jonathan Jones to 3rd. Kevin Pillar to 2nd. Pierce Rankin called out on strikes. Kevin Ahrens strikes out swinging. Oliver Dominguez pops out to first baseman Jason Rogers.

It is rather important that the games are reported on the night of, so as long you can commit to that, I see no reason not to give you a shot. Just to be clear, I need someone for 5 nights (fri-tues) to cover the Brevard County and Helena games. Covering Maryvale would be a big bonus as well. Obviously, the format can be mimicked from previous link reports. Feel free to email me or any of the other link reporters wit questions. So what do you say Rams? You in? My schedule usually puts me to bed fairly early and up fairly early, which would mean I'm probably the best bet to do either of the rookie ball leagues the next day (at like 7 AM). Does that work? Well, that works for me. The most important thing to remember; Have fun!

I am no expert but I would think Nic Bucci goes for sure. Maybe Jimmy Nelson who has missed a handful of starts and could use the innings. As for hitters, I am not so sure. I would think Hunter Morris, Scooter Gennett and Kentrail Davis would all get consideration among others. Some long shots? How about Mitch Haniger, Victor Roache or Cam Garfield?

Rams' Top 50 Brewers Prospects
Tedaldtada replied to ramssuperbowl1999's topic in Brewers Minor League Talk
Meh, it is hardly a travesty that Sanchez did not make the top-50. He is not in my top-50 either. But I am an upside guy myself. -
Brewers lose despite 18 hits in Missoula Independent Record The Helena Brewers pounded Missoula pitchers for 18 hits but stranded 11 base runners and didn’t have a pitcher last longer than three innings in a disappointing 10-8 Pioneer League road loss on Monday night. Helena jumped on Missoula starter Chris Pack for 10 hits in his five innings of work, but produced just four runs in that span after Brewers starter Preston Gainey got his team in a 5-0 hole in the bottom of the first inning. Gainey’s rough start included failing to get out the first seven batters he faced. He walked Pedro Ruiz, surrendered back-to-back singles to Evan Marzilli and Jake Lamb and followed with back-to-back homers to Michael Perez and Socrates Brito. He then allowed a single to Breland Almadova and walked Yosbel Gutierrez before retiring the next three Osprey up. Gainey lasted two innings, allowing six hits, the five earned runs and three walks to take the loss and fall to 0-1 on the year. He also threw a wild pitch. Pack took the win to move to 5-1 while striking out five and allowing two walks. Chris McFarland and Adam Giacalone led the Brewers offense, which featured seven players with multiple hits, by each going 3 for 4. Alfredo Rodriguez and Emmanuel Quiles each had two runs batted in, with both of Quiles’ coming on a one-out, two-run homer during the Brewers’ three-run ninth-inning rally that fell short. Perez was 3 for 4 on the day with five runs driven in and three runs scored to lead the Missoula offense. Perez’s first-inning home run was a three-run shot, and he added a two-run, two-out dinger off Helena reliever Joel Pierce in the bottom of the sixth. The Brewers host the Osprey for a three-game series beginning tonight. Box Score This team could really use an ace. Preston Gainey, who is having a decent season besides this blowup, failed in his attempt to be that ace. Michael Francisco went next and he found success. 3 IP 3 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 3 K 5:1 GO:FO for Mike. Joel Pierce continues to get rocked. With Joel, I feel like one of these seasons (hopefully 2013), his body will mature and he will pick up a few ticks on his FB. I am sure the Brewers predicted that as well when they drafted the then 17 year old raw Canadian. If the stuff improves, you can bet the results will as well. Manny Ruiz pitched a scoreless final inning while striking out the side. At the plate, it was the usual suspects leading the way. Chris McFarland (3-4 BB) and Adam Giacalone (3-4) each had 3 hits. Emmanuel Quiles (1-5) hit his 3rd HR, putting him 2nd on the team in long balls. Gross. I guess Nick Ramirez and Yaddy Rivera spoiled us last season in the tater department. Five others had 2 hits including lead off man Yonki Hernandez (2-4 BB SB (13)) and 9-hitter Ruben Ozuna (2-5). Like I said, this team needs an ace. Game Log

Perez HRs twice to pace Osprey in win 08/07/2012 1:08 AM ET Missoula Osprey Michael Perez hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs as the Missoula Osprey held off the Helena Brewers for a 10-8 win on Monday in front of 2,045 fans at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Perez hit a three-run shot off of Brewers starter Preston Gainey (0-1) in the middle of a five-run first inning, which was capped off when Socrates Brito hit the next pitch from Gainey for a solo shot. It was the 11th time in Osprey history that teammates hit back-to-back home runs. After Helena (3-6, 16-31) rallied from a 5-1 deficit to cut the lead to 6-5, Perez gave Missoula (7-2, 25-22) more breathing room with a two-run homer off of Brewers reliever Joel Pierce to extend the lead to 8-5. Perez became the 27th Osprey player to have a multi-homer game, and the second this season. Justin Bianco also had a two-homer game against Helena earlier this season. The Osprey added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, thanks to an error and a wild pitch, to push the lead to 10-5. Helena would push back, scoring three times off of Missoula reliever Chris Capper to pull within 10-8 with two out in the top of the ninth. However, Justin Thompson managed to induce a flyout from Brewers pinch-hitter Michael Turay to seal the game, and collect his sixth save of the season. That early outburst was enough to give Chris Pack (5-1) the win on the mound. Pack allowed 10 hits and a pair of walks while giving up four runs and striking out five batters to take over the team lead in wins this seson. Michael Rivera added two solid innings of relief, striking out four batters while allowing a run on two hits. The Osprey finished with 12 hits - three for Perez, while Pedro Ruiz and Kyle Koeneman each added two hits. Evan Marzilli, Jake Lamb and Adam McConnell also collected base hits for Missoula. The Osprey and Brewers will now take to Kindrick Legion Field in Helena for the next three games, beginning on Tuesday. The Osprey will send right-hander Karl Triana to the mound, while the Brewers will counter with left-hander Taylor Wall. Tickets are available now at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.

Helena 6 Missoula (D'Backs) 5 Box Score Fun, tough game for Helena and I am glad they pulled it out. The clear heroes were the pitchers and Adam Giacalone. First, 4th rounder Tyler Wagner started and had his best outing to date. 6 IP 4 H 3 R 2 ER 1 BB 6 K 1 HBP 6:1 GO:FO. Remember, this guy was mainly a reliever in college, so it will take some time for him to really figure things out. If tonight is any indicator, look for Tyler to make a big jump in the WI rotation next season. Brent Suter came in next and he got knocked around a little, but not to horribly. He did K 5 in only 4 IP while holding them to 2 R. Michael White finished with a bang (2 IP 0 H 0 R 4 K). The rest will be about Adam Giacalone. June: 9 G .118/.189/.176 July: 25 G .387/.462/.495 August: 5 G .578/.652/.947 (approx) Whoa. He went 3-4 with 2 2B 1 HR ad 2 BB tonight. His homer was a wall scraper, but I'll still take it. He has multi-hit games in 7 of his last 10 including 4 3-hit games. Keep it up young man! Game Log

Brevard blanks Tampa to take series 08/05/2012 8:28 PM ET By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees TAMPA, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees recorded their tenth shutout of the season and second in its last five games as they blanked the Tampa Yankees, 5-0 on Sunday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The 'Tees took two of three from the first place Yanks and are now just two games back of Tampa for the division lead. Nick Bucci (0-0, 0.00), who is currently recovering from an injury, made just his fifth start of the season and first outside of the Arizona League this season and threw four scoreless innings while striking out six. The 2011 Florida State League midseason All-Star scattered just three hits and did not walk a batter. Brevard (24-20 second half, 53-59 overall) struck big in the fourth inning and it started with a one-out walk drawn by Jason Rogers. The 'Tees would then record five consecutive hits including a RBI double by Shea Vucinich, a two-run single by Cody Hawn and a RBI single from John Dishon to chase Tampa (26-18, 56-55) starter Shane Greene and take a 4-0 lead. The Manatees would score another run in the fifth inning as Nick Shaw led off with a triple and came home two batters later on a single off the bat of Mike Walker. Tommy Toledo relieved Bucci and earned his second win of the season as he threw three scoreless innings, while walking two and allowing two hits. Thomas Keeling would complete the shutout for Brevard as he threw a scoreless eighth and ninth, while fanning three. The Yankees were 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position against Brevard County's pitching staff and left runners in scoring position with two outs on six separate occasions. Offensively for the Manatees, seven out of the starting nine in the batting order recorded a hit, with Walker notching two. Walker is currently riding a ten-game hitting streak and has recorded at least two hits in five of those games. After an off day on Monday, Brevard County will return to Space Coast Stadium to open up a six-game homestand and a three-game series with the Dunedin Blue Jays (22-22, 64-47) on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. 2011 first round draft pick Taylor Jungmann (9-6, 3.79) will get the ball for the Manatees as he looks to become Brevard's first ten-game winner since both Amaury Rivas and Evan Anundsen accomplished the feat back in 2009. Box Score Another huge win for the playoff chasing Sea Cows. Now they head home for a needed homestand and a new ace in the rotation. That ace is Nic Bucci. What a boost he could provide down the stretch here. Bucci, Tommy Toledo and Wild Thomas Keeling combined for 9 IP 6 H 0 R 3 BB 10 K 1 HBP and a 7:6 GO:FO. 8 H's and 7 BB's for the hitters. Mike Walker (2-5) was the only guy with multiple hits. Nick Shaw (1-3 3B 2 BB) and Jason Rogers (1-3 2 BB) pestered the base paths. Enjoy the day off, Water Bulls, and congrats on ending the road trip on a very impressive note. Game Log The Babyfaced Assassin. AZL Reds 15 AZL Brewers 2 Box Score This was a super sloppy game by both sides, yet somehow 6 Maryvale errors resulted in only 2 unearned runs. Mid-game, the Brewers pulled their 2, 3 and 4 hitters. Ryan Fasano from Nyack has been very good for the Maryvale bullpen before he imploded late in his appearance tonight. Carlos Sosa came on and K'ed the only guy he faced. 2012 9th rounder Alejandro Lavandero is off to a pretty rough start. The Florida HS product does not come with much documented information that I can find. Butler and Rivero pitched scoreless innings as well. Edgardo Rivera is continuing to stack up good games. Tonight, he went 3-4 with a BB. Renaldo Jenkins went 2-3 with a BB and Malcom Dowell went 1-3 with a BB. Taylor Smith-Brennan continues to amaze in unconventional ways. Roughly 65% of his OPS comes from his OBP. Find me another everyday player with 100 or more PA's that you can say that about. Maybe there is a prize in it for you (note: there is no prize). Jose Pena was 1-3 before he was pulled. Game Log

Missoula (D'Backs) 6 Helena 5 Box Score The H-Crew boys could not channel any good mojo from the...errr....older H-Crew men. Leonard Lorenzo has been alternating good and bad starts over the past 3 weeks or so. Tonight was a bad one. The 4:1 K:BB is nice, but the wildness shows in other areas and tonight he was unusually hittable. Michael Schaub, who has been out of the rotation for awhile now, has found some success over his last 3 appearances. 2 more scoreless innings tonight for Schaub he looks to regain some of the luster he had built up after a solid 2011 Maryvale season. Tyler Mangum finished up nicely. 16 K's by Brewers hitters tonight. Ruben Ozuna homered to accompany another 2 hit night. I know MTBrew has described Ozuna as 'over-matched' at the plate in the past, but he has been pretty darn hot for 2 weeks now. Now, I must confess I have never seen him play, but I do have somewhat high hopes for the kid. Move him, and his mid-.700's OPS, up in the lineup! Yonki Hernandez went 1-3 with a SB and Andres Martinez hit a 2B. Chris McFarland, Michael Reed and Adam Giacalone all went hitless, but they all took at least 1 BB. Game Log Losing temper is funny.
