  1. I have the opposite on DL - it's a weak draft for DL, particularly DE. Lots of undersized guys with mediocre production. When it comes to edge defenders (under 280 lbs), there's a lot of depth, but not interior DL (5/3i/1/0 technique, 280lbs plus) The Packers brought Keion White in for one of their top 30 visits. Hmmm....
  2. Reynolds had seven games this past season with >20 points, so I think it's safe to say that he's a lot better than Lindsey or Jordan Davis.
  3. Pay-per-view didn't sell advertising spots
  4. Hopefully blockchain will soon take care of that.
  5. Gard mentioned that they were looking at players in the portal, so he had to know that some guys were leaving. Jordan Davis is the first. I find it funny that some are clamoring for Andrew Rohde and wanted Davis gone. Rohde shot 32% from 3 in the Summit League. Jordan Davis shot 31% from 3 in the Big Ten.
  6. I'm surprised this is in the Packers 2023 thread. 🙂
  7. Just a reminder, Chryst was fired much more for his off-the-field performance than his on-the-field performance. He had many clauses in his contract and other parts of his job that he either half-assed or just flat refused to do. A down season is tolerated when everything else is in place; it's a straw that breaks the camel's back when everything else is not in place.
  8. North Texas has one of the best defenses in the nation for a reason. C-USA is 16-1 in the post-season. Actually, literally the best in the nation - #1 in points against at 55.7/game.
  9. Depends on that that 2025 protection is. Yeah, we'll give you a 5th round pick if he doesn't play, sure. Maybe even a 3rd because we can't draft in the 3rd round to save our arse. Anything more than a 3rd is a no-go.
  10. Mods - maybe split off a Rodgers thread from the Packers thread? According to PFF, the Packers are projected (barring any league-wide roster changes) to have the 2nd best pass protecting OL in the NFL next season behind only Philadelphia. The Packers lowest ranked starter is Zach Tom at RT, and he is at the 74th percentile at RT. Everyone except Nijman is under contract through at least 2024. This is why I don't expect the Packers to draft an OL on day 1 or 2. The Bears best pass-blocking OL is at a lower percentile than the worst Packers starting OL.
  11. Nice comeback the last five minutes. The way their season has gone I was totally expecting Oregon to make that last-second heave. That was their toughest game left. Time to go to NYC and with the whole damn thing.
  12. What concerns me about him is that he was only 32% from 3-point on a below-average strength of schedule.
  13. And your Wisconsin Badgers are women's National Champions!!! First time all season that #1 Ohio State has been shut out!
  14. 'zactly. Lamar Jackson will cost 1) a lot more in draft capital, and B) a lot more in guaranteed money than Rodgers. Yes, Rodgers options are expensive. Jackson will get a lot more than that in guaranteed money. And then if he starts stinking like Russell Wilson, they're stuck with him (and his cap allocation) for a long time.
  15. And all those stimulus checks that I didn't get, too.
  16. More like UW basketball - one disappointing season/three week stretch/tournament and half the fan base wants to move on to the next guy.
  17. Comp picks are always at the end of each round. Cannot be early 5th.
  18. That's a different tune than Wingo was singing this morning/yesterday evening when he replied to a tweet from Andrew Brandt and said that neither the Packers nor the Jets knew anything.
  19. Two lucky plays. I just keep thinking back to the Kansas game, and what would/could be had an out of bounds call been made at the very end of regulation on the Kansas player whose foot was touching out of bounds when he threw the ball back in play and they made the shot to tie it. That and the circus shot at the end of overtime on the offensive rebound. Then the Michigan game where their center heaves one up from 27 feet at the end of regulation to tie it. Add those two wins and there is no discussion about them being in.
  20. There's one other slight but important difference between UW's final four teams in 2014 and 2015 and now. Starting in the 2015-2016 season, the NCAA reduced the shot clock from 35 to 30 seconds. Those teams had five more seconds to work their offense to get a good shot. Doesn't seem like much, but now at five seconds you have to take what you can get but in 2014-2015 you still had 10 seconds and didn't have to rush.
  21. Especially women, more specifically older women, who know what it's like to be (afraid to be) replaced by someone younger.
  22. Why would the Jets give up a good WR if they're bringing in Rodgers? If they're going for it, they're giving up picks. And probably more in 2024+ picks than 2023.
  23. Essegian is a true freshman - he's the last person who deserves any criticism. I've seen worse than the first half. They had a few turnovers (I believe six in the first half, but only 10 for the game) but they had several plays where they got the ball inside, got fouled, got the shot up and on the rim but rolled off. An inch or two here and there and they could have had at least 4-5 and-ones. Instead they got free throws and only made one of two. They got good looks but rimmed out. I don't think Hepburn was 100%; he just looked off. Essegian's a true freshman; he's the last person who should get criticized. But Hepburn and Essegian combining to go 2-13 is what caused their downfall.
  24. Safety and LB are two positions where if a player has excellent instincts and can quickly read and diagnose plays he will make up that speed by being in position and already being 2-3 steps toward where he needs to be before other guys figure that out.
  25. Same AD today as was on June 22, 2021 when the recording was leaked.
