  1. My guess is not much. Something around the value of Peyton Henry maybe. He's a rental who is not having a great year by his standards. Whatever we offered was deemed less valuable than a comp pick. He's a rental who is not having a great year, has a .655 road OPS this year, and is making $18.5M this year. I think the reason the Rockies didn't trade him is because in order to get a good prospect back they would have had to eat a good chunk of his remaining salary.
  2. As it turns out...
  3. Topa. No limit on pitchers in 2021.
  4. Before the PIT series, the Brewers were last in the NL in B-R.com's Wins Above Average at 1B. After the PIT series they had moved up to 2nd to last.

  6. Does Norris count as a "LHRP not on anyone's radar"?
  7. Guessing he's been on the taxi squad with Cain's injury and long rehab.
  8. To go along with two Antetokounmpo's.
  9. Cubs just gutted their team, and the Brewers play at Wrigley 8/9-8/12. BF.net outing at Wrigley?
  10. He was the 4th overall pick, but so far to me has looked "good" but not "great". For a guy who is 5'8" he doesn't walk much; he also rarely strikes out but that means he's highly dependent on his BABIP for success (so far .338 for his career). He's also played in a lousy division with weak pitching, so his numbers might go down in a better division. Yes, he's only 24 and is still developing, but he's not a guy I'm going to lose sleep over unless he starts showing more power. Heuer is in the same boat; still developing, but so far seems more "good" than "great". Good trade for the Cubs, got a couple of solid pieces, but I'd rather they have those guys for five years than Kimbrel for the rest of this year and next.
  11. No, it's not correct. His birthday is 7/31/99 and he signed on 7/2/18, so he was only 18 when he signed. If a player signs when 18 or younger, they aren't eligible for the Rule 5 draft until after their 5th pro season which would be after the 2022 season.
  12. Heading into the game their Pythagorean W/L was exactly the same as their actual W/L. After the game, their Pythagorean W/L might be better than their actual W/L.
  13. [sarcasm]Never would have expected Rodgers to hold a grudge like that.[/sarcasm]
  14. Pirates going up hacking. Lots of first pitches put in play. Probably want to get this disaster over with and head to the bar.
