  1. His OPS is now .787, and he has the best K:BB ratio on the entire team.
  2. I'd say that Anderson and Yardley have been worth a damn.
  3. I'm having trouble finding stats, but I recall seeing stats shown on TV broadcasts that among starting pitchers he's in the top five.
  4. Vogelbach with a 3-run dinger, now up 5-1.
  5. Cue even more complaints about spending their first three draft picks on offensive players who haven't played much.
  6. Someone called this a month ago when Nebraska was chirping about leaving the Big Ten. Some writer, could have been on Twitter, but he said something along the lines that if some guy who used to be the Big Ten commissioner (don't remember who, but the implication was that this guy could hold a grudge) was still the commissioner he would give Nebraska Ohio State, Wisconsin, and either Penn State or Michigan for their first three games. Two out of three ain't bad.
  7. Does this factor in the 418 games that Molitor played as a DH for the Brewers, compared to the 35 that Braun has played? Would Molitor have been able to accumulate 1,000 more plate appearances (and the subsequent WAR, which is a counting stat) had the Brewers been a NL team when he played?
  8. Fun fact, the Green Bay Packers have drafted more Wisconsin Badgers than any other NFL team. If you restrict the list to the Barry Alvarez era (1991-present), Green Bay is tied for the fourth most Badgers (5) behind New Orleans (8) and the Giants (6) and the Lions (6).
  9. Can Gyorko play a passable 3B? If so, then you have a Braun/Vogelbach soft platoon at 1B if no DH. If there is a DH, it's almost a no-brainer to bring him back. It's worth it to not have to deal with the Smoak/Morrison/Holt/Healy/Mathias/Peterson parade.
  10. 2022 4-star safety Braelon Allen of Fond du Lac has reclassified to the class of 2021. That, along with OLB Darryl Peterson getting a bump up to a 4-star rating, now means they have ten 4-star rating recruits and one 5-star. The only downside is if Allen gets bigger he may not be able to stay at safety. Some recruiting services were already classifying him as an ILB, and they have a whole bunch of ILBs from the 2019 (2), 2020 (2-4, depending on where Herbig and Zachman end up) and 2021 (2 already) classes. It will be fun seeing them go back to the old NASCAR package (1 DL, 4-5 LBs) on passing downs, and teams having no clue which LB is going to blitz from where.
  11. Fortunately the Brewers have another year before they have to make that decision.
  12. The problem with analytics and football is that football is so much more of a team sport than baseball or basketball. You have eleven variables on each side of the ball on every play; one guy not doing his job can have a major impact on every play, one starter out can affect the outcome of every play. Baseball is about pitcher vs. batter, batted ball vs. fielder. It doesn't matter what the LF is doing if the ball isn't hit towards him; it only matters the few plays the ball is hit towards him. It doesn't matter what the other eight batters are doing on every pitch because they aren't involved; football players on the field are involved in almost every play. There are way, way more variables in football to account for than in baseball or basketball.
  13. Zantac was discovered in 1976 and commercialized in 1981. In November of last year, the FDA determined that the levels of NDMA in ranitidine were similar to that of eating grilled or smoked meat. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/statement-new-testing-results-including-low-levels-impurities-ranitidine-drugs
  14. Kris Bryant - .593 OPS Anthony Rizzo - .715 OPS
  15. Can you share what some of those medications are? Any ones that I'm aware of are products that came out 20+ years ago. And by "late night TV", if you're referring to the class action attorney commercials... well, that's all you need to know. They're just trying to get a settlement so they can pocket a few million. It certainly is possible for things to surface after a drug comes to market. How big the clinical trials are depends on the incidence of the disease. For drugs that I've worked on, the trials are typically 1000-2000 people (and there are usually 3-4 separate trials). For oncology drugs, the numbers are much smaller because of how rare the diseases usually are and how short the life expectancy is. As I've shared before, these clinical trials aren't with 1000-2000 people - they are with 30,000 people. And the reason they are coming to market so quickly is because of the tremendous amounts of resources that have been allocated to this as well as the fact that these companies are all sharing data - that never happens. I'm not afraid of the vaccine, but I won't be first in line to get it so that the health care/essential workers, first responders, and high risk populations can get first cracks at it.
  16. I don’t like putting an erratic pitcher in a position to walk in a run. Nor do I like putting a rookie in a position where he has no margin of error.
  17. I think it would be fun to follow Claudio with Rasmussen or Black. Then Yardley. Good luck being able to time those pitches.
  18. Burnes was over 100 pitches in the 5th. In a lost season, no need to tax his arm and risk injury.
  19. The Gyorko store called... ... they said they're running out of Cardinals!!
  20. Yeah, he’s actually been very good for the Cardinals so far this season. What else is new...
  21. This is the same Brad Miller who had a cup of coffee with the Brewers two years ago? Don't recognize the stance at all.
  22. Everything with Burnes is low. He needs to change their eye level with some high strikes. Pull out the four seamer.
