  1. It seems I'm in the same boat as Baldkin. I have refused to spend another dime on the Bucks until Hammond is fired. It's been about 2 years, and I love going to NBA games, so it's not like I'm a casual, fair weather fan. The Bucks had a golden opportunity to tank after Bogut got hurt and they completely blew it. They were right around the 5th worst record when he went down. Potentially adding a top 5 pick plus a healthy Bogut (I know he's a china doll but let me dream) would have been amazing. Or we could have just traded Bogut for a lotto pick this year and had two lotto picks and started to build a young core. Ugh. Between the ownership, front office, and coach I really believe that the Bucks are the most inept professional sports franchise. 1st rd guys I like who project to our spot....Lamb, Waiters, Sullinger, Rivers, Ross. HATE....Leonard, Zeller, PJ3 2nd rd.... do whatever it takes to get Crowder.
  2. Ramirez has quietly posted a 800+ OPS this month. Nice to see him come around.
  3. Ummm....What does a muppet mean? That he's an idiot. And what the hell did I even say that's not factual? At this point I don't care what his OPS has been the last 2 or 3 years. His approach has sucked, his results have been awful, why would you expect anything to change without a major shakeup? I think a lot of people get way too caught up in box scores and stats and think that he's just gonna randomly start hitting close to his 3 year averages, when in reality he's so far from that player it's not even funny. We're right around 200 PA's and the guy is batting .150 and has shown no real signs of hitting better. It's crazy, this is right around the time where a lot of guys start settling in to certain rate stats. Like Braun will probably wind up a between .290 - .320 BA, Hart .250 - .280 BA. As long as they don't suffer nagging injuries, you can pretty much write that in pen. Weeks however, seems to be settling in the mid to high ONE HUNDREDS. And he plays every single game. It is so maddening imo.
  4. It's crazy how much kemp has improved in just a couple years. He use to be an easy out when you got him down in the count. Ax 2-1 pitch was great, but Kemp is just too good.
  5. He hasn't been swinging enough in hitter counts or the first pitch, so at least Narron can see there is a major problem with his approach. Weeks the last 2 years was much better at not letting the best fastball go by in his ab's. Outside of the period where he was diving over the plate, not being aggressive enough has been Weeks' main problem this year. Also, Conrad makes Weeks look like Ted Williams up there. Feel bad for the guy.
  6. Late to the party but I'd like to pile on.....Weeks is a muppet. The only thing he basically can do at a major league level is walk and he swings 3-0. At this point, I'd much rather watch a Ransom type out there. Guy is picked up off the scrap heap and he's looked a million times better than Weeks has at any point this year. Great game by Fiers. I know he's not really a prospect, but I was pretty excited to watch him pitch and he delivered.
  7. If Weeks thought Romo was gonna throw him a fastball on 0-2, he's got a lot more problems then I even thought. There is no way that ball started anywhere close to the strike zone. Most ML players would see that the split second it's released from the pitcher's hand. Not a "good" slider by any stretch, especially by Romo's standards. Just a waste 0-2 pitch to see if a struggling hitter chases. Romo's a great pitcher, but Weeks had two lousy at-bats against him in the series. The first one he cut through a hanging slider, and the second one........that gif. My god. About the worst swing ever.
  8. Yeah I agree with that Madtown, but for the first time in a long time he's hitting the ball hard once a game. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he has a big series against the Dbacks. Hitters paradise plus a day off to relax. And that's as long as my leash would go with Weeks. If he goes back to his old routine this weekend of striking out a third of his at bats and not hitting the ball solid with any regularity, I think you have to DL him and let him go rehab somewhere where he's not killing the team. Nearly any AAAA second baseman can out produce his current line.
  9. Agreed. My hopes are for Taylor Green to hopefully be this kind of hitter, but so far the early returns don't look promising.
  10. I was watching from Gameday and could see the pitch was obv wayyy outside....did he actually go all the way around or did he check his swing?
  11. Weeks is the worst situational hitter I've ever seen. If he wouldn't have struck out he'd probably have hit a chopper to 3rd and Lucroy would have been dead because we always run the contact play.
  12. Disagree. This was his best day at the plate in about a month (that's pretty sad, but true). His balance was much better. He actually hit two balls on a line. His timing was just slightly off in his last at-bat where he hit a sky ball to 3rd. Very close to killing that pitch. His 4th ab against Romo was absolutely pathetic though. But I'm use to Weeks having 3 or 4 of those ab's every night. Baby steps.
  13. He has 179K's in 448 PA vs RHBs in his career. 40%. He's just wicked vs RHB. Yup, I know he's death vs RHBs. But he hung one to Gomez on 0-2 and to Rickie on 0-1. He was definitely not lights out tonight. Looked ordinary to Aram too.
  14. Romo was way off tonight, but he still only needed six pitches total to strike out Gomez and Weeks.
  15. The worst starting position player in baseball is making 11 million dollars this year and is the fifth highest paid player at his position ahead of studs like Kinsler, Pedroia, and Zobrist. He has not had a multi-hit game since April 17th. He has struck out in more than 1/3 of his offical AB's (53/143). Ron Roenicke has still started him in every game he's been healthy. Let that sink in a minute.
  16. Weeks has been a lot worse than McGehee was last year. So the answer to that question should be yesterday, brewmann. The only thing that will salvage his season would be a trip to AAA. It worked in 2007, when he was battling the SAME EXACT HABITS and finally overcame them when placed in a low pressure atmosphere. Just finally checked the score and cannot believe Weeks struck out 4 times again (2 times against Carl freakin Pavano). I'd have to imagine getting the golden sombrero twice in one week has to put him in some elite company.
  17. Weeks "swing" on 1-2 was just lol bad. He's gonna bat under .200 all season. I'm calling it.
  18. Ha! Can't believe I forgot.
  19. I think you no question let him go if you're out of it and maybe want to start a mini rebuild phase. I'd let him go without a thought, but I'm biased. I don't think Weeks' has ever been a guy who you can count on to move the needle during tight games or playoff races. And as we have seen this year, during his prolonged slumps he's prone to, for decent chunks of time he's just about the most useless player in the game. Just too many flaws. Why Melvin decided to give an extension to Weeks after he had a career year in almost every category and stayed completely healthy will always be a mystery to me. They could of easily made him stay healthy and do it again the next year (2011) and probably have gotten close to the same deal if he put up another year like '10. With how it played out (the ankle injury and terrible playoff performance), I think you'd be resigning Weeks for cheaper than the 4/40 he got. Also, why keep Rickie with his long, expensive deal when you can just go out and sign a Kelly Johnson or Jerry Hairston in the off season for a much cheaper and shorter deal and get close to the same production?
  20. Braun, I expected better from you tonight. Weeks' last at bat was about the most predictable thing ever. I'm glad we had him up there instead of Lucroy. What a friggin joke this manager is. ETA: I'm kinda bummed they ruled Rickie's second at bat a hit. I wanted to see him top his 0-22 streak.
