  1. Let's hope it's not a blister. Those can linger for what would be the rest of the year. As someone else said, tired arm like Zambrano would be about the best case scenario. (Edit: Or Groin.)
  2. Braun's was actually a mistake pitch. But yeah, I get where the OP is coming from. Weeks has been all kinds of bad this year. Cuzzi didn't do him any favors though. He decided to call the 3rd pitch a strike at the last second, which was bull.
  3. Quite a step up from Isringhausen. Wow was that guy good.
  4. I think Prince does that more often than not.
  5. I don't think Jeter will want to hang it up that soon. He seems to be a guy that will hang around a long time, a la Craig Biggio. I doubt Hank Steinbrenner would let him go somewhere else anyway. I'd think that Hardy would be okay with a move on the diamond if it came with a contract extension, but who knows. I'm starting to think more and more that we should ride out Prince's 6 years and just take the comp picks. He's just too good of a hitter to trade this early.
  6. From all reports, Escobar figures to be a game changer with the glove immediately, and his stats show he's starting to click offensively. 3B is probably the Brewers' biggest hole, and JJ fits in nicely there. I think it's almost a given that Sheets and Sabathia won't be with the team next year. We're gonna have to replace one of them from outside of the organization. As you said, Hart has speed and power. He's a unique talent that is probably worth more to another team than ours, as we have guys in the system that project well out there.
  7. I know this is probably not the most appropriate time for next year roster discussions, as we are in an exciting and unknown territory for any Brewer fan basically under the age of 30. But all these "Trade Hardy" and "Trade Fielder" threads got me thinking whether Corey is actually the most logical Brewer to unload in the offseason. With Cameron's big year, Braun transitioning to the OF pretty well, and a glut of OF's in the minors I think the guy is expendable. He'd bring a nice starter back, and his strength (High SLG, Mediocre OBP) is kind of redundant on this team with guys like Braun, Hardy, and Cameron. Trading Hart would allow us to keep Hardy and move him to 3B. His offense would be just a bit above average, but the thought of a Hardy and Escobar left side is very intriguing. Gamel could be moved to a corner spot, hopefully being called up around June 1 next year. Cameron could hold down CF and you just have to hope either Cain or Brantley can become the replacement in 2010. Thoughts?
  8. This trade makes a ton of sense for both teams. If Sabathia winds up on the Giants, which there are rumours of, I'd say there's a good chance something like this happens.
  9. Chris Paul is probably better now than Stockton ever was, and I'm a big Stockton fan. Pippen defending Lebron would be a lot of fun to watch.
  10. I think it would be a little closer than others think, but yeah, gotta go with the Dream Team. Barkley was insane in the early 90's. Redeem doesn't have anyone that matches up with him.
  11. Amazing, isn't it? Heck, a lot of people (me included) thought after the injury we would struggle to stay above .500 for the season. On a side note, Ned Yost has been nearly perfect as of late. His only gaffe that sticks out is the 130 pitch CC complete game, and he made up for that partly today.
  12. Did you ever wind up purchasing from this site?
  13. For some reason, I can't stand the sight of Hunter Pence. I didn't want to see him get hurt, but I thought it was hilarious when he crashed into the wall going after Weeks' homerun last year. I also hate when players only wear one batting glove, so that doesn't help Mr. Pence in my eyes.
  14. It sure seems he has thrown harder than usual. During the beginning of the year, he was topping out at 86 and walking a ton of batters. Since about May, he's been damn good.
  15. I don't see what the problem with listing just OBP and SLG is. The number one goal of hitting is to get on-base, and whether you hit a clean single or the ball hits you right in the ribs, it all counts the same. I just think the BA stat is completely irrelevant. A couple posts above (Cameron and Hart's stats) is a perfect example of that.
  16. Dexter Michael Bluth (arrested development) Tommy Gavin (Rescue Me) Jack Donaghy (30 Rock) Edit: Any of the New Jersey crew from The Sopranos (Especially Paulie, Christopher, Tony, and Silvio)
  17. Certainly not saying hits are meaningless. When you can look at SLG and OBP, I don't need to see the stat.
  18. Foofty: I don't know where you got your information, but it isn't very accurate. He actually had a decent rookie year considering his injury. Second year he definitely improved, and then of course got hurt. And last year he had a very nice OBP for his "spot". Not even close to horrible. Sure his AVG was low, but the BA stat is 100% meaningless.
  19. If anything, I've always thought he should be more agressive. Is that Witrado and Haurdricourt's blog?
  20. I really like Weeks, but I think it would be best for both to part ways this offseason. He'll put up some .380/.450 seasons for somebody. I just think he's a guy that could use a change of scenery. Durham surely isn't the answer for the Brewers beyond this year. If he could play multiple postions, he'd be a very nice backup, but that of course isn't the case. Hudson would be a nice player for the Brewers. They'd probably have to trade Hardy and bring up Escobar to take on that kind of salary. I think Escobar will be an 8th hitter for his first couple of seasons, as I don't think he's gonna put up a .330ish BA in the bigs like he is in AA. With his OBP almost all coming from BA, it might be kind of ugly the first year or so.
  21. Free Craig Counsell!! Have a day Bill. I really feel bad for the guy.
  22. Vindication for Gagne. No way he deserved 3 baserunners there.
  23. Fortunately, we have Duke on Friday, and Maholm on Sunday.
