  1. If the person actually wants to sell you the car they will a) agree to come with you to your scheduled checkover or b) let you leave something with them as collateral. If they give you some kind of round around about why you can't bring it to a shop they are lying. I've bought close to a thousand cars on craigslist the last 4 years (most don't know I'm a dealer, I just pay them and get the hell outta there). Outta that many, I've been scammed twice. Once was because I was stupid and gave someone $500 down to hold a car for 2 days. There were many signs why I shouldn't have down that. The guy was a complete clown and was pretty shady, but the car was very nice (after this all went down I'm pretty convinced it wasn't even his). I went to pick it up 2 nights later and he basically taunted me from his track phone and said he gave me a fake name and home address and said I was sol on getting my money back. Generally, you should be able to get a good gauge about the person's character by just talking to them on the phone and then meeting them in person. The only other time I was scammed was because I bought a car with frame damage. That was back before the days of carfax though. I will also note that out of all those cars I bought, nearly everyone that I've bought from has said that their car is perfect/needs nothing. This has been the case maybe 1-10% of the time. Unless you're buying an 08-11 model private party, expect to fix some things. That's why you're paying less than retail. If you don't have a mechanic that you trust/ can give you a good rate, you'll probably have to piss that money right back away in repairs. What I recommend? Research some reputable dealers in your area/ask for recommendations from people you know. Find the right vehicle. Negotiate it to a price that looks good to similar models on cars.com. NADA value is a good guide but used car prices are a little out of whack right now on especially on slightly older vehicles because of cash for clunkers. This route will save you a lot of hassle.
  2. This. It's absurd how overboard he goes with it at times. Overall I like the guy though. He's no JP, but no one really is.
  3. Amazing. I turned the game off after Furcal grounded out in the bottom of the 8th. Found out they won after reading the Berkman thread like an hour ago. Unbelievable.
  4. Crazy to think, but he'll by 30 next year so I don't think he has any potential left. I'd hope to god they'd explore trading him before Corey. Hart is so underrated.
  5. OH MY GOD Ron Darling shut up. If we come back credit will not be due to Ron Roenicke.
  6. So I think that's another 3 Rickie has left on tonight. Does he have to go 0-5 with 5k for Roenicke to sit his ass on the bench.
  7. No way. There's just no way anyone can be worse than Weeks right now. Unbelievable how long of a leash he gets when Corey has 2 bad games and then gets benched.
  8. Yeah, it was another good episode. Mose shows up quite a bit too. Community finally hit it outta the park last night for the first time this year. I thought they had the best episode out of the NBC block and the two FX shows I watch at 9 & 930.
  9. I would just flip Weeks and Hairston in the lineup because Weeks can't hit with RISP in close and late spots and Hairston is a guy who is an excellent situational hitter. Season on the line with 1 out, runner on 3rd. You need one run. Who do you thinks more likely to get that guy in? I think it's Hairston and it's not even close. Braun and Fielder have been on base machines in the postseason. Weeks has 3 RBI's. I'd love to know how many runners he stranded since the playoffs started. It seems like it's been 3-5 a night.
  10. Yep. There's no reason for him to be on the roster right now tbh. He's just not healthy. And he just sucks in big spots. He looked pretty healthy rounding the bases in the 6th inning. What makes you say that he is just not healthy? Where has it been reported? For real? They've alluded to his less than adequate health in almost every ab he's had this postseason. And I disagree about how he looks running the bases. Definite hitch in his stride.

  12. You're right. Sadly, a Fielder homerun is more likely then Weeks doing anything clutch.
  13. I'm sure she checks this thread everyday.

  15. Yeah I don't root for any of the Brewers to fail. It's great that he had a big hit. Let's be honest though, he almost gave it right back and cost our team the season after taking Blanco's roller up the middle to 2nd instead of throwing out one of the slowest runners in the league at 1st. Just Yuni being Yuni I guess.
  16. This show has become my 2nd favorite sitcom of all time after AD. I'm trying to find the words to say to this girl without being disrespectfulllll! I swear I've been waiting for someone to parody that awful song for years. Love when Tom "flirts" with Joan.
  17. I liked it outside of the cold open. Who the heck wrote that? They smash the windows and then poke holes in it so the dog can breath. Ummm, wasn't the moon roof open? I think Andy adds some nice realism to the show. Michael was such a terrible person that I almost liked it when people would walk all over him. Where as when Andy stood up to Darryl in the little cafe scene I felt a sense of relief. Also, Ryan kills it when he interacts with Pam.
  18. Of course its jumped the shark. When? Probably right around the time the 45 yr old squares started throwing up the T at MP after his game winning hits. I love the guy though. He's clutch and I think he's a great clubhouse guy to have when the going's good.
  19. Slightly off topic: does anyone know if you can change your 25 man roster from series to series, or is it the same 25 guys (barring injury ofc) you went into the division series with?
