  1. Great job Lucroy! Morgan, Hart, and Hairston before the big boys. Need at least one more base runner
  2. All of the positives of Hairston's early walks are out-weighed by his defense in CF. Got to get Morgan out there in a close game. Morgan to CF, Hairston to 2b wouldnt be super hard to do
  3. Well hopefully we are getting all our horrible play out of our system these last two innings. This has been horrible
  4. Unbelievable! That will be called a hit but that was terrible defense by Hairston.
  5. I am going to be a little worried about KRod's control because it sounds like he is really excited to pitch against the Mets
  6. Saito did not looked sharp in this inning. RR should have pulled Wolf earlier but it isnt like Saito looked good once he got in the game. Well at least we still have the lead.
  7. I will be happy to lead by 3 when this inning is over. I am little worried about how hyped up KRod will be if he gets to pitch tonight
  8. Very true. I think Roger's injury struggles are playing a part in people's reactions.
  9. I dont want to see Wright this inning. Lets get this guy.
  10. You were right. Just Yuni, Wilson, and Kottaras haven't yet, which is expected. Yuni did hit one really hard last time up, but with only 2 hits and 2 walks not many guys are doing much
  11. Nice 6 pitch inning for Wolf. Here's to another day of rest for our bullpen. It would be nice for the big guns to not have to pitch much with as many games are we are playing over a short period of time.
  12. It is unfortunate when Kottaras has to bat against left-handed pitching. And I might have been wrong about figuring Cappy out!
  13. That was rocket by Yuni. Couple hart hit balls for home runs and a couple hard hit outs lately. I think they are figuring Cappy out after a rough start. On a side not Corey Hart has really struggled lately. 6 for his last 37 over the past ten games and he has not looked comfortable up there today.
  14. I was just hoping for Prince to walk, after how bad Cappy made him look at that first at bat. I was wrong
  15. McGehee hit that one pretty well too. Didnt miss by much. Nice to see the team capitalize on base-runners today.
  16. That was ROCKET!! Prince and Braun with our two hits and that equals 5 runs
  17. Yeah, he sure has. Probably one of the somewhat overlooked success stories for the Brewers this season.I completely agree. We are seeing close to what was expected out of Greinke, Marcum, and Yo, but Wolf has been great. Going into the year I thought he could be a solid number 4 but he has been way better than I expected. He is definitely living up to his contract. As far as most overlooked success I would say Wolf is number one. Followed in no particular order but bullpen guys like Hawkins/Saito, and Lucroy.
  18. I was figuring you would come in with the statistics! A drop of 35 points in OPS over two years is a pretty big difference. Interesting that runs are the same but slugging and OBP are down. Part of what made me think about this is there were some people on this board saying the Brewers couldnt be considered serious threats with Yuni and Casey in our lineup but every team we faced seemed to have less threats than we did. We have Prince and Braun who are elite. Hart and Weeks (when healthy) are very good. Lucroy and Morgan are good for their positions. I dont feel like we have a dominant lineup but when matched up against a lot of the teams we have played I like ours a lot more.
  19. Not sure if there is any statistic to back this up but it seems like there are a lot of bad lineups out there in baseball right now. Since the break a lot of the teams we have played have had really poor lineups. The Pirates, Astros, Giants, Dodgers, and Mets all lacked consistent firepower. Some of these teams were hurt by trades but they lineups were not that good before that. Even the Cubs lineup is pretty average at best right now. That does not take into account teams we havent played who have lineups that dont really strike fear into anyone like the Nationals, Marlins, Padres, etc. I guess we could say all the good lineups are in the AL but a quick look at some of the teams seem to indicate that might not be true either. Outside of Texas the AL West is really poor. The AL central is not great either with the Royals, Twins and White Sox not being able to hit much. The East has some really nice lineups and then Baltimore. So the question is in the post-steroids era has hitting gotten that much worse or have I just never noticed how bad most teams lineups are or are these teams better than I am giving them credit for?
  20. According to weather.com the forecast is really good to the get the Brewers game in today. Rain isnt supposed to hit until 6 PM and even then it is only a 30% chance. The rest of the day is a 10% chance. Wolf has been great so here's to hoping he keeps it up.
  21. What I like is that he is at least hitting the ball a little harder from what I have seen. One of his outs last night was a really hard hit ball that Wright made a great play on and turned two. His BABIP was probably low in part because he was hitting a lot of weak grounder or pop flies. Now he is hitting the ball much harder. Hopefully it keeps up. When Weeks comes back Fielder will have real protection from Rickie or Corey. Casey can bat 6th. Hairston and Yuni should rotate but who knows if that will happen.
  22. I agree. Fiers does not seem to fit that list. Rivas probably projected at best as a number 5 pitcher and not a great number 5 at that. Ross looked great for a couple months but I dont think anyone penciled him in as starter in a two years. He was old for his league but he dominated in low A. People wanted to see what he would do in Brevard and he has disappointed. Friers has succeeded at the higher levels in ways Rivas has not. His stuff may not be amazing but there have been plenty of MLB pitchers without amazing stuff who have had significant impacts as number 4 or 5 starters. IF Friers could become a decent 5th starter his low-cost alone would make him a huge help to the team.
  23. Wow this seems overly harsh. Injuries dont make a guy a loser. The drug use is not okay but being a bust and injured should not be in the same category. If I had to guess I would say he tested positive for something that was used to speed up recovery or ease pain. But it could just be weed. You're right, injuries don't make him a loser. I was summarizing his career after 7 years with the organization. He's had virtually no impact on the major league team, with no reason to honestly think he's going to turn it around. Then to have two failed drug tests--what's the point of keeping him? As for what he tested positive for, your guess is as good as mine. Your guess is very generous, which makes you really supportive of the guy. Whatever it was, he's responsible to keep banned substances out of his body, and he failed. Twice. So after 7 years, he has as many starts as failed drug tests. That's worth keeping? I am fairly supportive of Rogers because he has battled back after a crazy amount of injuries. I was generous in my guess but Ash just said he wasnt a steriod or performance enhancer that is why it was only 25 games. I just reread my post and it sounded like I had a pretty weak stance on if it was weed. If it was weed that is a stupid mistake because why would you be using that with millions on the line? My comment was directed toward calling Rogers out as a loser. Just seemed over the line and an overly personal attack. Has he been a disappointment as a prospect? Definitely, but a loser seemed over the top. I would keep him until Spring Training to see how he recovers from his surgery.
