  1. Escobar is being talked about as a gold glover at SS, but his bat is terrible. However Yuni cant hit much and cant field so I would rather have Escobar. No, the choice wasn't Escobar or Yuni. The choice was Escobar and (name a free agent starting pitcher who was willing to come to Milwaukee) or Yuni and Grienke. Those with a crystal ball who were willing to risk Capuano's injury history, bravo. But no Yuni means no Grienke. Oh I know. I still love the Greinke trade even with Yuni coming over. Greinke the past few weeks has shown me what I thought we were getting. If he can pitch like that in the playoffs I like our top 3 a ton.
  2. Cards 2-1 @Astros 2-1 @Cards1-2 Pirates 2-1 Dodgers 3-1 @Mets 2-1 @Pirates 3-1 Cubs 3-0 Cards 1-1 19-9 Seems really optimistic but I like 3 of the 4 roads series. I could see 15-13 as a low end. I really like our rotation and bullpen right now.

  4. There was like a 4 page thread talking about people's least favorite guy on the team. The talk me off a ledge on Greinke thread. The Yuni thread. The Casey thread. The Counsell thread. Numerous threads on Kotsay. A thread turning Ronieke into a whipping boy. Numerous threads talking about the injustice of Taylor Green not being up. It is also that these threads are the longest threads on the board. At the same time there have been very few threads talking about the positives on this team. Our rotation has been lights out lately. K-Rod and Axe have been very good. Braun and Fielder have been MVP worthy. Lucroy gives a hitting threat at catcher. I dont know maybe it isnt that bad but it seems like there are more negative threads than normal.
  5. I wish we would have gotten a starting SS. Outside of that I really like the changes. Lopez and Hairston Jr are nice additions. K-Rod was a great pickup. He has really solidified the bullpen. So I did not get everything I wanted but that is okay. This board is frustrating sometimes because when we do make a trade we give up prospects we should never part with a smaller market team, but when we dont trade our prospects people complain too. This is definitely not every poster, but the overall negativity on this board is pretty over the top considering we are 11 games over .500, winning the division, and are not far off from being able to host a playoff series.
  6. St Louis down one and Pittsburgh up one. Would be nice to get a little more separation
  7. Taylor doing all he can to get a look. Through 3 plate appearances he has a home run, a double, a walk, 3 runs and 3 rbi's.
  8. Nelson looking good through 4. 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 ER, and 4 K's. Hope he keeps it going edit - my fault for jinxing him
  9. lets get through this inning without anymore damage. Marcum has not been sharp today but he has battled and his defense has not helped him out
  10. Braun for MVP! Seriously, when healthy he has just been ridiculous this year
  11. http://brewersbeat.mlblog...ewers-reacquire-f-lopez/He is better than counsel and wilson and just cost us cash. I like that. Now get furcal and that is improvement without losing much at all in terms of prospects. Neither Lopez or Furcal are having good years but they just have to be better than Yuni, Wilson, and Counsel
  12. Wave him if Counsel and Marcum are up next but not with Lucroy. Prince is slow no need to gamble.
  13. There has always been a strange infatuation with Fukudome by some on this board. I am not saying that is what you are saying Warning. But this year his OPS is .742 and he cannot really play CF that well from what I have heard and read. I would like him to be our new Kotsay but I dont want him playing much with Hart and Braun on our team
  14. I think those who have talked about us selling dont realize how good this team could be if the staff continues to click. Greinke has been dominant, Yo can be, Marcum can, Wolf has pitched very well, Narvy is very good for a 5. Our bullpen has been very good since K-Rod came. 8th and 9th are set. Saito and Hawkins have the 7th. Loe is good when used correctly. We just need a left-hander. Add that rotation to even a bad lineup that still has Hart, Braun Fielder we can win this division
  15. Dumb enough to fire him. His team has been terrible two years in a row and they look like they are getting worse. Maybe he is rebuilding that farm system but two years as one of the if not the worst team in baseball will lead to getting fired
  16. I like this Greinke a lot more. His ERA has dropped a full point recently. The guess the people who said he was unlucky early on might have been on to something
  17. It really depends on what type of healer he is. I hurt my ankle playing bball and couldnt put weight on it two days but a day after that I was playing ball again. Looked like a softball one day and the next day I ended up running around it
  18. Well we will see if Greinke has gotten over his issues because this is where he has given up home runs this year
  19. Well this is terrible news to come back to. We are ahead and I feel terrible. I really want to be happy about our lead but thinking of this lineup without Weeks is depressing.
  20. The Brewers better think they know what is wrong with Rios' bat. He has been as bad as Yuni and Casey lately
  21. I dont hate the trade in a vacuum, but with our needs at SS and 3b I am not a fan. i want a lefty reliever but a CF is not high on my list of needs
  22. Your logic means any trade of a prospect for a major leaguer is viewed as a success because we can never know if a prospect will succeed. Well we dont know if Jackson will succeed or Dotel for that matter. Jackson was decent, maybe good in a very bad hitting AL Central. Now the NL Central is not great but it is no guarantee he is even going to be a 4.00 ERA guy for the next couple months and that is all they have him for.
  23. The Giants just beat us 2 out of 3 and Lincecum didn't pitch in that series. And now they are adding Beltran. I don't like the way we match up against the Giants unless we improve our roster fairly significantlyWell Greinke didnt pitch, we lost one game on a fluke error on a ball lost in the sun, Prince is in the middle of a bad slump, and the series was in SF. Now, getting Beltran helps for sure, but there is no way I think we need to upgrade significantly to beat a team we have split with this year. Lincecum will be tough, we hit Cain pretty well, Voglesong is solid. We will throw out Greinke, Marcum, and Gallardo two of whom the Giants did not hit well.
  24. Strange to trade away an OF with Berkman struggling with a sore shoulder.
  25. Posted this in the trade forum, but I can only imagine the uproar this board would be in if Melvin pulled a similar trade. A prospect with the value of Rasmus for a decent starting pitcher and some relievers. Patterson is pretty bad as well
