  1. Martin is playing for the Yankees now. McCann is probably the number 1 guy and Molina is probably 2. Both are hitting close to Lucroy and throwing out way more runners. Lucroy is probably number 3 right or Iannetta from Colorado
  2. I think I read that the Cubs had not won 3 games in a row all season. That is pretty rough. I am surprised to see the Marlins are doing so well. Is it great relief pitching, because I didnt look at those stats? Their hitting is not the greatest (18th in OPS) and Ramirez is having a brutal start. The top 3 of their rotation is very good so that must be it, but their 4 and 5 are nothing special. Their team era is 12th ahead of the Brewers by one spot. There is no way I see that team maintaining what they are doing. I think the Braves are the team to beat if we need to go for the wild card.
  3. With the outs on basepaths I can see a 5 or so but I am wondering why a couple people gave 2's and 3's. Just want to hear why, because I dont get to watch many games at all
  4. The two guys on that team I would like are Span and Kubel, but when Hart is healthy Kubel wont be as valuable. Span would be nice if Morgan goes down again. Wish they had a SS
  5. I think Gamel is a better guy to replace Fielder than anyone on the Twins. Except for Mauer or Morneau.Actually I would say Gamel is better value as a 1B for the Brewers than Mauer considering Joe is never likely to have much power and his contract would crush the Brewers. Gamel wont hit for the same average, but he will likely hit for decent power and has a way better contract
  6. I think Gamel is a better guy to replace Fielder than anyone on the Twins.
  7. How did someone give him a 2? That does not make any sense. I dont want to be mean so I am wondering the logic in giving him that grade
  8. I would be okay with that as it probably means we score another run
  9. I'm excited for his 30/30 season. He has a great shot at it this year. He is extremely efficient stealing bases and even with a power shortage lately he still is 5th in baseball in home runs
  10. The Tulo love on this board seems over the top sometimes. He is injured quite a bit and his OPS this year is about .180 behind Braun. I like Tulo a lot and I am sure some advanced stats I dont know about have him way ahead of Braun, but right now I am very happy with the one we have. Braun is staring at a 30 - 30 season while batting .300
  11. Braun being able to steal some bases is huge in front of Prince. Just like tonight he was able to turn a single into second base with a steal and then score on a timely hit by Prince.
  12. Braun is now 9th in the majors in steals! What a start he is having
  13. Wish granted. Glad to be wrong. Getting that second run is nice. Now I hope to see Yo keep his pitch count down.
  14. Prince needs to move the runners there. Dont feel good about Casey and Kotsay pushing another one across. Hope I am wrong
  15. Thought I would bump this since the sample size is higher now. Braun had a span of 15 games where he only walked once, but has really come around again with his plate discipline walking 13 times in 18 games. He has only homered twice this month so I am not sure if there is a correlation to his increased walking and decrease in power. He is still on pace for nearly 40 home runs and has added base stealing again. He is 12 for 13 in stolen bases.
  16. I agree with you especially in regards to LaPorta. But Brantley would look really nice in the Brewers line up right now. It's still a somewhat small sample, but in 135 AB's Brantley's line is .304/.383/.437/.820. He's got 4 HR, 18 RBI and has walked 17 times compared to his 15 K's. However, his current UZR is -1.9 and his current UZR/150 is -9.3. Compare that to Gomez current UZR of 7.3 and current UZR/150 of 35.9. So here's the question: would the additional runs scored with Brantley's bat and ability to get on base be negated by his defense? And whether it does or not, does Gomez currently bring more value to the Brewers with his putrid offense but elite defense? Brantley can be a corner OF'er in the AL because you have a DH who can provide the pop he does not, but he is not a CF. If he plays CF with Braun and Hart our outfield would be horrendous defensively. I like Brantley and thought he was great for us if he could play CF but if he becomes a corner guy he is not a huge loss. I am almost surprised he has 4 home runs. That is nice pop for him
  17. Wooten is a guy I am really excited about. Seems like the kind who can pitch a couple innings a night, which is valuable in the bullpen. We have seen Loe get abused early this year and a guy like Wooten (and what they are now doing with Estrada) is valuable.
  18. Lawrie seems like Mat Gamel with a better bat. The team will try him a positions where his bat could be a huge plus but in the end he ends up as a corner OF'er or at 1B. Not a bad thing at all.
  19. Gillespie is going to be 27 this June, surprised he is not with Arizona's big league club. Brantley is valuable as a CF. His numbers are falling lately but he should be fine. Lawrie will be a stud if he can play the field. Odorizzi is the one I think will hurt the most. He has a chance to be very, very good.
  20. I am guessing he gets 120ish. Not saying it is right but I feel like coaches go against convention when a pitcher has special outing going
  21. He has made it clear in interviews his approach has changed. He talked about patience being the thing he has been working on the most. Now maybe that will all change once the season gets rolling but as of right now the results have been pretty solid
  22. Probably the biggest pet peeve I have at baseball games. One of my friends and I argue about this a lot. He thinks it is fun. I think it is ridiculous
  23. I think 30 extra games of Braun's special bat is worth quite a bit. I also think that Tulo's numbers are inflated because of where he plays. His splits show that. Braun's numbers at Coor's could be crazy. It is not my love for Braun that is clouding my vision when looking at those facts. Tulo is a far superior defender, but he has missed considerable playing time, and he plays in a hitter friendly park that make. From 2008 to 2010 Braun's road splits are much better than Tulo's. His OPS is .901 and Tulo's is .832. When you factor in a road OPS that is 70 points higher and the injury issues (which a big part of the game) there is no way you can convince Tulo is clearly better. When healthy and playing in their home ballparks sure I guess, but when you look deeper it is not at all as you make it seem That is fine. I disagree. I wish you had posted this first instead of going for the "if you weren't so biased you would agree with me" angle. Dont know what you are trying to get at with that comment. I asked you why you were not a Braun fan because I have seen it in other threads and I was wondering. Your comments about how much better Tulo was than Braun were over the top in my mind and I wondered if part of that had to do with you not liking Braun for some reason because the numbers dont seem to back up the discrepancy you think there is between the two. You told that your feeling about Braun had nothing to do with that and I believe you. Back to the contract. I am nervous about the length and excited to have Braun here for a long time. Barring an injury I think it is a good deal for both sides. If there is an injury than this will definitely hurt.
  24. That is an interesting point about his defense being worse in Coors. I think the increase in his bat would make up for the decrease in his defense.
