    I am excited because Bill Hall just doesnt look good right now and I think he needs a couple days off and Branyan would only have to hit righties.

    I am all for moving Weeks down the order but who do we replace him with? Hart is not a lead off hitter in my mind. He does not walk much and he is suited well to hit behind Prince. Kendall would make some sense. It isnt like we want our lead off guy trying to steal too much with Braun, Fielder and Hart right behind him.

    I dont know if that is entirely true, but I agree that I would love to see Brantley become the CF of the future. Braun will only get better as an outfielder, considering he never played OF until this year. Hart can stay where he is. LaPorta can then play first when Prince inevitably leaves. We then need to just hope that Gamel can cut it as a 3B because if he can't the log jam in the OF gets even bigger. If Gillespie can continue to progress he will be a great 4th OF. Huntsville could really restock the Crew in a year or two.

    I agree that it does not make sense to keep Pena down there. Today showed we need another guy for need to go to late in games after having Torres pitch back to back days after pitching 40 pitches the night before. Honestly, I don't feel comfortable with anyone other than Torres, Mota, Shouse (but only to lefty's) and Gagne (and not that comfortable with him). DeFelice, McClung, and Zach Jack are just guys. I hope Stetter finds the strike zone in Nashville and that they bring up Pena to take DeFelice's spot. That way McClung can go back to the long man role.

    Nice line for Butler as well. 7IP, 2ER, 5H, 1BB, 3K. It would be nice to see his K numbers get higher, but it is good to see him get deeper into games.

    This team has shown a lot of heart in this series. The bats I mean. I am glad to see Prince get a homer, he has crushed some balls this series

    So does this team have another comeback in them? The kind where they keep me interested enough to keep track of the game through all nine innings.

    It is nice that Ortiz decided to find his stroke this weekend. Although our pitching probably helped him

    What happened on the fielder error? Did he just plain drop the ball?

    Any trade that doesn't get a solid 1 or 2 type starter doesn't make sense to me. Front end pitching to go along with Yo is the only reason we trade Prince. The value he brings is being able to net a solid starter and one more player, not a bunch of bats where we have solid prospects. However, if Gamel can't cut it at 3rd I wouldn't mind the a solid pitcher and a 3rd baseman.

    I worry a little about Hart in center as well. I really think LaPorta will be the first baseman after Prince gets traded. However, if Gamel does not cut it as a 3B he either becomes a first baseman or another OF. I think Brantley if he can put up even close to similar numbers in the pros would be a great addition to the team because of the OBP he would bring. Hart, Braun and Brantley would be alright in my book. Gillespie seems like he could be a player on the big league level as well. Our outfield depth is great. Throw in 4th or 5th outfielders like Gwynn and we should be set in the OF for quite some time

    Really? I think Ellsbury is scary. He has a good OBP of .380 and is 16 of 16 on steals. Pedroia is decent as well

    Was it a hit and run or a straight steal? Weeks doubles his season total of caught stealing in one series

    It may be their B team but only one guy had an average under .278 and that is David Ortiz. Talk about depth oops jhart beat me to it

    You forget the two run single that he hit to get the team back in the game.

    This is an example of why wins are a dumb stat to look at some times. Torres is on the hook for the loss and he pretty much got five outs and only gave up one hit with no walks.

    You would think guys whose bats are already pretty solid would be able to focus on their fielding more. I would hope Escobar is spending more time with the bat and Gamel and LaPorta are spending extra time with the glove. If just for a purely selfish reason Gamel has to realize how much more he is worth as a third baseman. Salome needs to spend some time with Jason Kendall and whoever helped changed Jason's mechanics in throwing runners out.
