  1. Yikes this game felt like the Eastern conference finals. Team gets tight in the 4th. Can't make shots and giannis can't convert at the line.
  2. The heat complain about every foul call even though they reach and swat a ton. They are a good team but man are they annoying
  3. Bucks have been sloppy tonight and the refs are letting the heat swat a lot. Hill is getting destroyed by dragic. Need bledsoe healthy
  4. Better to stand pat than to make bad trades. Chances are, nobody offered anything that we would've deemed worthwhile. Exactly. It's important to be able to see the forest through the trees. Especially when you can try to trade him again in what 3 months
  5. There are people disappointed with this before even knowing the return? What did people expect phelps to bring back?
  6. The Indians have options to replace Clevinger. He actually was not pitching amazing this year. Tristan Mckenzie will likely take some starts and could put up very similar numbers
  7. Based on the rumored asking price, I think that's likely accurate. The Padres certainly have the ammo to build a fantastic package with Gore as the centerpiece to get a deal done. I dont know enough about prospects but do we have reason to believe the Padres would entertain trading Gore plus for Hader. I have read on Gore this morning and would love to have him. On a side note the Padres would really be dangerous on paper with Hader on their team.
  8. Was surprised to see that Grisham has struck out 41 times this year. He would fit right in on this roster. Also beware of the affect of one good or terrible game on OPS in short season. If Grisham hits just 1 home run and the other 2 were singles in his 3 home run game is OPS would be .733. Obviously his numbers would look much better without his 0-6 game too. Just hard to get a read based off numbers so far. If Grisham turns out to be a guy with an OPS around .750-.800 does that really hurt that much on a normal year?
  9. Brewers pitchers had combined to throw 12 straight balls until the 3-0 strike to Reynolds that looked high
  10. I mean at some point why bother? Too late by the time you switch pitchers. So you only give up one or two runs instead of 8
  11. I am not so sure on the twins. They moved a young guy to get maeda this off season to show they were willing to deal for controllable talent and they might be in 3rd in their division by the end of tonight. That could put some pressure on a team that was supposed to win this year.
  12. My question is do you think the never should make political commentary? That just seems incredibly limiting to them as people. It's incredibly difficult for me to interpret that sentiment as anything other than "I don't like it when entertainers express a view that isn't mine." The exact same people that want to run LeBron over are the same ones applauding Chris Pratt or something when he talks about Jesus. It's one thing for people to object to large entities taking sides on things. If Target does this and you don't like it, by all means, don't shop Target. If someone shoves a mic in a famous person's face and says "whaddya think about this" and they answer the question, I don't see the problem. When Joe Blow runs a local fundraiser for something he believes in, it is universally applauded. Famous people using their platform to champion things they believe doesn't bother me. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do something bigger than basketball/acting or whatever. Just because that made you rich doesn't mean you're forced to stick to it 100% of the time. If my name were a billion-dollar brand I would like to think I'd use it to change some things that help other people. 100 percent agree. This is the Laura Ingraham shut up and dribble comment all over again to me. Then she applauds Drew Brees for saying stand for the troops. It is just so inconsistent. Athletes and celebrities shouldnt speak up unless they agree with you. Steph Curry can talk about his faith and some applaud him, he talks about racial injustice and he should just play basketball. And it goes both ways. Tim Tebow shouldnt talk about his faith but players should make stands on issues. They have every right to share their beliefs and their employer can decide if that fits in their conduct policy. Society as a whole can decide to not cheer for them i guess but they have no right to tell them they can't speak. Ironically a certain subset that talks about freedom of speech a lot doesnt want to let a certain group of the population to be free to share what they speak

  14. For people talking about how this wont accomplish any change maybe you are right but the Bucks players are not simply skipping a game. They have had conversations with the state attorney general and lt governor about how they can be more involved in the conversation. They have asked how they can help promote legislation and be a part of a solution at all levels. You may disagree with the stance they are taking but they exploring ways to use their platform for more than just awareness (which in and of itself is already a powerful thing). A couple other arguments that dont really hold up 1. This is their job, they should not protest at their workplace. Their employers are supporting them so this argument is not valid. 2. Sports are supposed to be entertainment not politics. These men (and women in other leagues) are more than just athletes. They have other opinions and just because you do not like them does not meant they cannot express them. There is a side of this debate that cannot stand when athletes talk politics but have no problem with them talking about their faith or other things. Let them be whole people. Their life is not about entertaining you. And again their bosses seem ok with them speaking out 3. They are losing me as a fan or fans in general. Even if that is true it is a statement not a real argument. Actually it may give them more respect because they are willing to be financially hindered to voice their thoughts. There are local businesses in my community who have Trump 2020 posters up. They probably lose some business for that and they might gain other business but either way it does not invalidate what they are speaking on.
  15. That would make sense as an endgame.
  16. Virtual signaling - the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue. How on earth is that what they are doing? This isn't a company just posting black lives matter because everyone else is. This guys have been speaking out and feel like this is using their platform to say something is more serious than basketball. You can disagree but to call it virtual signaling is misunderstanding a term and misrepresenting the players I do agree with fear the choizo in wondering what the end game is. I will wait to hear what they have to say.
  17. I like Grisham but before his recent 3 home run game his OPS had dropped under .800. He hadnt hit a home run in the previous 22 games. He seems more like an .800ish OPS kind of guy which is still valuable for sure and would be nice on our current team but there is some overrating of his game in my mind. How does he grade out as a CF defensively? If he stays in CF for a while that OPS will play really well, as a corner OF it isnt that impressive. Davies has been solid and that isnt a huge surprise to me. He is a good pitcher.
  18. The Twins have a great lineup. They are dangerous against any pitcher. Good to see Woody wiggle off the hook after getting slapped around a bit in this same exact spot his last couple outings, though. Their lineup hasn't been that great this year. Lots of guys with an ops under .775going into tonight. Their third string catcher has a couple hits but really only Cruz and Kepler have had good years so far. Now it is better than the Brewers but that isn't saying much
  19. It’s why this team desperately needs Narvaez to figure it out. Pina can be a black hole if he’s the main guy everyday. Completely agree. I love Pina as a backup catcher. As the main guy he is just miss cast. He has way too many prolonged slumps.
