  1. This seasons ceiling seems to rest a lot on Peralta and Burnes. If even one of them takes a Woodruff like step forward we are in good shape, if both did then the season gets really exciting. We have the depth in the rotation in my mind, we just dont have the really high upside guys. Add that to Knebel, Hader, Suter and others in the bullpen things get fun. Now I thought the same thing last year and that did not happen and somehow the team still made the playoffs
  2. Yeah Giannis put up 23/14/6/1/3 for the series but his shooting percentage was just 45% and free throw 58%. That field goal percentage was 13% lower than his regular season numbers! Free throw was 15%. His numbers would have been insane with close to his regular percentages
  3. It's also very possible that the unaffiliated prospect ranking services have Graterol rated much higher than MLB teams actually do. Like I said above, while he's got a huge arm, his body type and physique don't lend themselves to prolonged success. For every Bartolo Colon that finds a way to make it work, there are 20 Luis Ortiz types who are ranked highly by independent scouting services and prospect rankings, but simply don't hold a lot of value and end up washing out. I completely agree prospects can be overrated and maybe his size limits him going forward. However he is a much better prospect than Ortiz was. He hits 100 mph with an almost 4 to 1 K to walk ratio. ERA of 2.48 and WHIP of 1.07. And he wont turn 22 until this August. I would have been very happy to get him
  4. I thought the same thing. I understand what the dodgers and sox are doing, i don't get it from the Twins perspective. I do. The Twins are obviously going for it. They see Maeda as contributing to the MLB club in a stronger fashion than Graterol will in the next two seasons. Maeda is a legit middle-rotation starter. Graterol is a 21-year-old kid with a huge arm and Rueben Quevedo's body. My thought is if the Brewers had a prospect as highly regarded as Graterol I would have hoped for someone with more upside the Maeda. Maeda has solid numbers but had a lower WAR than Brett Anderson, Davies and was about equal with Chase Anderson. I know WAR isnt perfect but Maeda does not throw a ton of innings so that limits his value unless the Twins see him being able to make more starts and go deeper into games.
  5. I get the twins wanting to go for it but man I would have thought they could get a little better starter than Maeda for Graterol. I am probably underestimating the value of Maeda's extremely low contract though
  6. After seeing the Lakers lose to the Magic last night, Boston lose to the Pistons, it gives me even more appreciation for what the Bucks have done. They only have one remotely bad loss and that is on the road to the Spurs. The other 5 losses are to teams who are 6 seeds are higher. They show up every night and win pretty handily - they have something like 4 wins by 5 points or less. So 32 wins by 6 points or more! That is ridiculous. Rarely are games coming down to the last 30 seconds. It might be good to get a few more of those tests before the playoffs. Big game against Boston tonight. Win tonight they have an 8.5 game lead over the Celtics who are really the only team who have the talent, coaching, and consistency to come close to catching the Bucks. The Heat are terrible on the road, Philly isnt consistent, Toronto just cant stay healthy, etc.
  7. I am not sure what more the Bucks can do to impress people. They have one with Middleton and Bledsoe missing time. They have one of the best point differentials in the history of the NBA. It is almost 4 points higher than the Lakers and only 3 other teams are within 7 points. That is insane. And they do that with resting their starters a lot during games. Their bench is incredibly deep - Hill, Dante, Pat, Illy, Lopez, Korver, Brown, etc would win quite a few games. Adding Korver gives them another shooter to defeat a Giannis wall. Could they be beat? For sure. But people should be able to appreciate just how good this team is right now.
  8. Is it right that Pritz is the only senior on their roster? Man this team will be crazy deep next year with the addition of a highly respected incoming class (although I am guessing some of those guys will redshirt)
  9. It really is. They actually just traded out CJ Cron at .780 with Donaldson and got better defense since Sano wont have to play 3b. It is all about if their pitching can hold up
  10. Every computer ranking I have seen (Kenpom, BPI, RPI) all have the Badgers in the top 25 as of right now so I dont think they even qualify as a bubble team at the moment. They are solidly in. Now they are a lot of potential losses on the schedule still with how even the Big Ten appears to be, but there are also a lot of potential solid wins. This isnt a great team but from what I can tell they dont really have a bad loss (Richmond and New Mexico have solid records) and current have the most quality wins of any team according to BPI
  11. As negative as this sounds, this is where I'm at. Damn it... I guess maybe where we ended the year but 2B will be better of the course of the whole season with a full season of Huira SS will be better. Not sure how that is a question with how bad Arcia 1B will likely be really close but probably better with how bad Aguilar was. Smoak and Thames feel like a wash but not having Jesus' terrible year is a win OF - The OF is already as good and adding Garcia makes it quite a bit better. Depth - We are way deeper and have more flexibility.
  12. Well glad to beat Ohio State at something
  13. Up 4 at the half with their two best scorers going a combined 2-11 (rest of the team is 9-15). At least Reuvers is getting to the line to score, Trice is scoreless
  14. Almost like they expected a penalty and called it. Huge call. Would have been 3rd and long
  15. Coan panics when his first read isn't there
  16. Not if groshek makes his block
  17. As long as the burned timeout doesn't come back to hurt
  18. This is insane. That spot is ridiculous
  19. Very Highs and very lows on special teams today...
  20. And had a couple nice ones called back for holding.
  21. That was a great throw and catch right there. Huge kick return set that drive up. Wasn't the cleanest half for the badgers with penalties and turnovers and thry still have a 3 point lead and get the ball
  22. He was getting mugged first. Yeah he was just fighting through a mugging to get to the ball
  23. That was a terrible pass by Coan but it annoys me the announcers didn't even acknowledge the penalty that should have been called. Missed calls happen so not complaining about the call but at least acknowledge it!
  24. A college team is boring compared to the best offensive team in the NBA. That isnt all that surprising. Pretty unfair comparison. I am not saying the Badgers are fun to watch - havent been able to watch much at all this year - but the Bucks are the best team in the NBA
  25. I don’t understand what this venomous hate for Miguel Andujar is. Have you guys even looked at what he slashed at AA/AAA and his rookie year? Keston Hiura isn’t exactly a defensive savant himself. If Travis Shaw passed as a hybrid 3b/2b I have enough faith in counsell and Stearns to mask him enough on defense to make that bat play. I want more good pieces than Andujar, but he is not a garbage player. 100 percent agree. If the front office thinks he can stick at 3rd they could have 3 out of IF spots filled with young, controllable, high upside players. Now I would want at least one high upside arm with him and a couple fliers.
