  1. Was there command? He’s normally wild in the zone. He threw 38 pitches, only 24 strikes. And he allowed 2 hits before striking out the side. You have his line wrong. I agree with most of your post but I dont think I would say he ONLY threw 24 for strikes. That is 2 out of every 3 pitches for strikes. That seems pretty solid.
  2. What is Grandal so bad at defensively? He had a bad NLCS but scouts and stats say he is a good defensive catcher. His bat is definitely worth replacing Pina. Pina is a good back up catcher, but if we was our starter at the trade deadline next year we would asking for an upgrade.
  3. Yeah he is such a great fit for this team in so many ways. He is under appreciated in my mind. With the struggles of Aguilar and Shaw he really saved 1b. It is crazy a few people were talking about dfa'ing him Did anyone pick Thames to be the "biggest surprise" player in the preseason predictions thread? I think he may have earned that award at this point. I'm guessing we will probably pick up his 2020 option which seemed highly unlikely at the start of the year. It feels like a given now doesn't it? He has really solid numbers, isn't super expensive and we don't have any other good options
  4. Lost in this too is did Hader get a little mojo back with striking out turner, Eaton and Rendon with the bases loaded and no outs. I know the Nats bailed him out a bit but confidence can still be built with that
  5. Yeah he is such a great fit for this team in so many ways. He is under appreciated in my mind. With the struggles of Aguilar and Shaw he really saved 1b. It is crazy a few people were talking about dfa'ing him
  6. Yelich went 5-6 with 2 home runs and a walk and it felt like just a good game for him. Honestly he is so fun to watch. Also when grisham starts that 1-7 is really impressive
  7. Agreed and we really need another bullpen arm. Although he has to be the guy who goes down for davies
  8. Have you seen the pitches from Guerra? Fat fast ball, fat fast ball. Terrible breaking ball, terrible breaking ball. Fat fast ball. Brewers are incredibly lucky Robles didn't hit that out
  9. I don't know. He did get out once and three of hits were only singles
  10. Both teams have had some really bad at bats since the Nationals bases loaded debacle in the bottom of the 9th
  11. Not bad pitching from jj at all. Maybe just maybe he is turning a corner
  12. That was a really nice job by Arcia knowing the runner. Instead of trying to bare hand it he knew it was a slow runner and took his time. Well played
  13. How did it take people this long to figure it out? It seems like there has to be more to it
  14. I am usually one of the optimistic ones but how could anyone feel good right now
  15. Same problem. I have said "I am not going to follow this team as closely anymore" like 10 times this year. And here I still am
  16. .406. Sogard's OPS with us last year. I am happy for the guy that he is doing well but he was one of the worst hitters ever last year. You could say the same about Arcia going on year three now. Sogard is no Jeter just pointing out how god awful Arcia has been. Oh I agree. Arcia isnt good. Just pointing out it wasnt like keeping Sogard made sense either. He was worse than most pitchers last year
  17. .406. Sogard's OPS with us last year. I am happy for the guy that he is doing well but he was one of the worst hitters ever last year. At least we got rid of him. We are still rocking one of the worst MLB positional starters for years now (oh hey Arcia). Yep although I dont think the front office really believes in Arcia either. They have played Saladino and Perez quite a bit this year. They really need to figure something out this offseason...
  18. Our bullpen is so bad it sometimes makes me forgot our starting rotation isnt good either.
