  1. I definitely think that was '04. On MVP '05, I lost two games to the Royals walk-off HR style via John Buck, once to my brother and once to a friend. I started a franchise with the Royals just for the heck of it, and he had something like 12 home runs in April for me. I'll always love the pseudonyms for the players on Ken Griffey Jr.Presents Major League Baseball. The Brewers featured pitchers such as B.Wayne, P. Parker and C. Kent. The Red Sox had J. Adams and A. Hamilton. What a game.

  3. This didn't work out well for the Reds series, and the Brewers are cruising without it, but oh well. http://www.theonion.com/content/files/images/World-Series.jpg
  4. My dad pronounces Toyota "Tie-ota" I just bought two concert tickets on eBay and shipping, from Chicago to Milwaukee, costs $15.00. It's two pieces of paper that might weigh an ounce combined. The funny thing is it says it's usually $20.00, but "You save $5.00!"
  5. What awful pictures to look at when you're very hungry, those ribs look pretty nice right about now...
  6. You're not a baby, it is really annoying. I definitely go out of my way by staying a couple feet behind the next car (when you're at a crawling speed) to make sure someone doesn't pass up a bunch of cars and then try to sneak it past everyone
  7. I can't remember a time in my life where I've been this happy about the Brewers. This is definitely more exciting than the 24-10 start.
  8. Dang, hit to the wrong part of the ballpark.
  9. Impatient drivers when they don't have to be anywhere important. Over aggressive drivers. If you're going to to feel the need to ride everyone's bumper the whole way, maybe you should've left earlier. If I'm going 7-8 over the speed limit, which is about what I usually do, and someone's tailgating, I'll gladly slow down to the speed limit for them. (I'm talking about non-highways here.) When you're waiting to turn on to a street and someone who will be turning on to the street you're on doesn't put their blinker on. I can't believe how often his happens. The worst is when there are multiple cars behind them so it makes you wait quite a bit longer, when you could've turned much sooner.
  10. Corey Hart's been in a mini-"slump" so I don't mind Kapler getting the start against the best pitcher they're facing this series.
  11. Mota's been bad since 2005, I don't see any reason to think he'll turn it around the last two months.
  12. Lee also has 2 homers in his last 42 games.
  13. On base three times, including a 3 run homer isn't a solid game? He obviously didn't look good on those two plays in the 9th but Torres didn't really help him out either. Durham isn't going to be an improvement defensively for Weeks, so I'd rather see him start tonight since he's been hitting pretty well the last 10 games or so.
  14. The Cubs have walked only four times in the four games since the All-Star break, which is pretty funny coming from the team that led the majors on OBP. Ramirez and Fukudome aren't playing over the heads, they just have the most extreme home/road splits imaginable. Ramirez at home has a 1.091 OPS, yet .640 on the road. Fukudome is .972/.611.
  15. I'm not. I was on vacation and got text updates from my brother constantly for all three games. You can imagine how demoralzing that was, especially the first one. I also got text updates during the A-Ram walk off at Wrigley from him while I was at work. "Big first inning!"..."Gallardo pitching well!"..."Turnbow 1-2-3 in the 8th"...long pause....still no response..."A-Ram walk off." Terrible way to follow a game.
  16. The Brewers got their first road sweep in ages and I didn't see any of the three games. I dont get why people call them the "ScRubs." Isn't that more work than typing "Cubs"?
  17. That's really unfair to Katie Holmes. She was bad. Jar-Jar Binks was laughably bad.
  18. Cain's on my fantasy team, and it seems like he only gives up 5+ runs or 2 or fewer each start. Hopefully Sabathia can shut down the Giants sad offense. They have fewer home runs than Toronto...yikes.
  19. Wow, I feel like a moron. The other day my mom was watching that Regis clip on the computer and called me in to show me. I thought "who the hell are these people and why would she want to show me this?" not realizing it was him. I guess I'll have to watch it again.
  20. I love what they say about Hernandez: He is 9-6 with a 5.44 ERA and is on pace to become the first pitcher since Atlanta's Phil Niekro in 1979 to allow more than 300 hits in a season, making his spot the most vulnerable in the rotation at the moment. Followed by: But the Twins also love Hernandez's big-game experience as a balance for Blackburn, Slowey, Baker and Perkins, none of whom have started in the postseason. How much is Hernandez making that they wouldn't want to swallow his salary?
  21. I heard somewhere that Braun talked to Pujols over the break about "plate discipline and stuff" (paraphrasing). Hopefully that means he'll go from good player to HOFer in a matter of days http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
  22. Someone I know was a bat boy for the Brewers and got to eat with some of the players and Uecker two different times. He said both times Bob was really drunk and a jerk to everyone. I would be happy with the four free tickets. Even if they're only Terrace seats, that's already a $60 dollar value. Add the signed ball and it's even cooler.
  23. I'm not sure if their parents were alums or not. Obviously a lot of it (like Hawing mentioned) depends on the number of applicants. Maybe there were fewer in 2006? Who is your advisor? I was a pol sci major at UW-L. Reithel, but this was my advisor when I was Undeclared my first semester freshman year. I've actually never even met Reithel, but I have two classes with him this fall semester.
  24. You've gotta be kidding me. Even if I don't hear this for days it'll be stuck in my head. It hadn't been for a while... "Bargain" by The Who was the last song I've heard, so that's it currently.
