  1. How about a 3-run bomb from Billy for some separation? So it'll be fun facing Jay Bruce for the next 6 years.
  2. Whoever enters the stats on the scrolling graphic at the top of the screen must've had the same English teacher as Tom Haudricourt, Mike Cameron has scored 2 run's today.
  3. Adam Dunn has to have grounded out to 2nd at least 6 times this series. I don't remember the last series against the Brewers where he didn't have at least 6 HRs/BBs/Ks. Bush and Suppan have had him baffled apparently.
  4. I can't believe how much I hate the idea of stealing third base. Hart, you're freakin' fast, you'll probably score on a hit to the outfield anyway. There's like a 2% chance of a wild pitch/passed ball/balk, it's not worth the risk man.
  5. He's the worst hitter on the team. I don't mind him starting at shortstop once in a while, but he should never be starting at third base. Branyan has plate discipline, and it's not like Hall has terrible discipline either. I don't care that Counsell doesn't strike out, it's no worse than a weak dribbler out to the pitcher's mound or to the second baseman.
  6. He had a 3-0 count with a runner on 2nd base and nobody out, swung away and grounded out to the shortstop.
  7. Wow, thank you Joey Votto. Also, why does just about every announcer claim the job of the #2 hitter is to advance the runner? Not every team has Craig Counsell batting 2nd.
  8. What is it about an ankle high fastball that's so appealing to Braun? It was shin high about 10 feet away from the plate, does he think it's going to rise up a few inches?
  9. Brian Anderson just said the same thing.
  10. And Counsell gets the job done by moving the runner over. Oh wait...
  11. I noticed the same thing brwrsfan, I'm guessing LAD was out of pinch hitters. Maybe Torre pulled a LaRusse and used 13 position players in 11 innings. Swisher just hit a walk-off bomb in the bottom of the 14th to beat Detroit.
  12. I certainly agree the Cubs have the much better offensive approach. I don't think they're "clutch", rather they lead the NL in BA/OBP/SLG so they get hits in all situations. Meanwhile the 'Stros cut it to 1 run...
  13. To be fair I'm sure Harden was attempting to get himself out and he either accidentally laid down a really good bunt or the Astros messed something up. Theriot also popped out bunting so I'm not sure how that's "executing" bunts when only 1/2 of them are successful. Sac flies just happen to be fly balls hit at least moderately deep.
  14. I seriously cannot believe that Counsell is starting (at 3B) again. In 18.1 IP at Great American Ballpark, Dave Bush has a 14.24 ERA, yowza.
  15. That might actually be the worst called strike 3 I've seen all year, wow.
  16. It'd be interesting to see everyone's list of #21-25 favorite Brewers. I'm almost positive all would include Mota and a lot of Suppan too.
  17. Man, I said Scarlett Johansson but I'd maybe have to change it to Erin Andrews. I guess I'll just move somewhere where multiple partners are allowed.
  18. Why does Yost hate Branyan so much? I never envisioned Counsell starting three straight games when there were no injuries.
  19. Sweet, another pitcher who doesn't walk a lot of guys. The Brewers patience should really come out in full force again this game.
  20. Hah, awesome. 1) Hart 2) Parra 3) Sheets 4) Bush 5) Weeks Gabe Gross and Chris Capuano used to be up there. I know Capuano's still on the team but I'm going with the current 25 man roster.
  21. I think the "rhyme or reason" is that Bush has been a better pitcher than McClung for the past four years. It also didn't help Bush that he had 15 days off in between starts.
  22. Scarlett Johansson, hands down.
  23. I'm a day late, but I would've guessed they'd beat Chuck James yesterday anyway. @ Atlanta (3) 3-0 (I'll say they finally get to Campillo a little) @ Cincinnati (3) 1-2 (No Sheets or Sabathia) Washington (4) 3-1 @ San Diego (3) 2-1 @ Los Angeles (3) 1-2 Houston (3) 2-1 Pittsburgh (3) 2-1 @ St. Louis (2) 1-1 @ Pittsburgh (3) 1-2 16-11
  24. Mike Cameron is having a better month than Corey Hart.
  25. His two starts before that, he got hit pretty hard against Minnesota, and then gave up double digit hits to Pittsburgh even though I think he only allowed one run. I'm guessing it's just a coincidence.
