    I had never heard of Quintinilla (sp?) before today. That can't mean good things. That first pitch was more of a ball than the payoff pitch to the last batter.

    You're right, no one in this thread was calling for Shouse before Helton came up.

    Perfect, the better hitter gets an AB here and the better defender can them come in? Will it happen though? I say no. Will Cameron come in, I mean Kapler "is a fine defender" or whatever it was.

    But that's only for this season. In his career they're much more normal. I hate when Mota comes in to pitch, I absolutely don't trust him with a 1 run lead. Make it a 2 run lead 3TO!

    I like you're thinking. Hopefully Yost does too. No reason to actually, Colorado would have countered with DeLaRosa anyway I guess I kind of forgot they have two lefties in the pen so they could've used JDLR there and then maybe Fuentes for Prince later.

    Not this year. Lefties are .216/.273/.369/.642 off him, while righties are .371/.402/.664/1.065. Will Branyan PH here?

    It's not the 7th inning yet though, so Villy will go 1 2/3rds. Mota's not a 7th inning pitcher, duh. Atta boy Carlos! Plz plz plz let him pitch the 8th if he does well in the 7th and isn't tired.

    Yes, but mostly because there was a runner on base when he was up to bat.

    I haven't played a lot of baseball and I also have never managed, but I completely agree. Unless you're Zambrano or Owings, why swing at the first couple pitches?     Rich Harden struck out the side in the first inning on 9 pitches, what a shame he can't stay healthy for a full season.

    I love that Suppan didn't even leave the batters box right away. This ump doesn't have the biggest zone. Love the hustle, thank god he wasn't out though, what a horrible end to an inning that would be.

    Nice stretch and footwork by Prince, too. Colorado sure doing Suppan a favor here swinging at the first pitch two at-bats in a row, maybe they wanted to return the favor from the top of the inning.

    If they want a double play their best bet is probably a 3-6-1 with Dillon at second.
