  1. Not even if the Cubs picked up the entire salary for Crazy Z would I want him in that clubhouse. No way, never.
  2. Prince didn't go hard into 2nd, he slide. The Cubs' SS tried to toss the ball behind his back almost to second which ended up 3 feet to the first base side of the bag and DeWitt went after it right into a sliding Prince. Tell your SS not to be an idiot and you won't get killed on a play like that.
  3. Update for 2010 - Anybody know if Capuano will be arbitration eligble next year or will he be a free agent? I couldn't find any information on COTS or the salaries page on BF.net. If he was eligible for arbitration the 2009 season and was non tendered and signed to a minor league deal, then going into this year I would think he would still be arby eligible unless being non tendered changed things. Or does his service time in 2010 put him over the 6 years needed for FA? Based on baseball reference, Cappy had 9 games and 5 starts in 2003 for AZ - so likely only up for a month or two. Looks like from the game by game log is was 13 days in May, a start on July 4th and then September. So depending on how many days he sat before and after those dates. Then had 17, 35 and 34 games/starts in 04-06 and 29/25 games/starts in 07. If I remember right, Cappy was in the starting rotation at the start of 04 so I am guessing the 17 starts was due to a DL stint. And same for 07. Plus he spent all of 2008 on the MLB DL. So he would have had 5 full season plus the month or two in 03 and if he finished the year with MIL about 4 months this year. Which could be close to a full season equivalent for 03/10. So is he a free agent or possibly back with arbitration?
  4. Another thing I noticed on the mlb website is only 29 of the 30 teams are shown to choose from with the Yankees not included.
  5. the $20 only buys you the opportunity to later buy tickets at face value if your team makes it to the WS. So I would guess you would be out another $100-200 depending on prices for the actual games.
  6. I just learned from the idiot Cardinal TV guys that McGehee got his chance when Braun got hurt and something about Bill Hall, blah blah...so McGehee played left field last year too. Missed that I guess.
  7. Don't the players sent to the NBDL still count against the 15 with only 12 of the 15 on the active game day list?
  8. It was on brewers.com on Saturday or Sunday that Bush would pitch on Friday as Macha didn't want him to face the Twins again. Bush was not all that happy about it.
  9. Was at the T-Rats game, if there were 10,629 in attendance I would guess a couple thousand were dressed in their invisible outfits. It was a nice crowd but fireworks night had alot to do with that. In fact, we left right after the game because I am heading out of town early in the morning and needed to pack, etc. (check BF.net) and we saw people coming into the game then just for the fireworks. Heckathorn looked good, consistently hitting 91-92 and 94 at least once.
  10. Jinx Jinx Jinx. Hopefully that will work. Lets go Sox.
  11. Macha - from USA today article on Braun - "I didn't really get to know Braun until this spring," second-year manager Ken Macha says. "I sat down with all of the veterans to get to know everyone's personalities. With most, it took about 15 minutes. With Ryan, it lasted an hour, 15 minutes." So you waited a whole year to sit down with the veterans to get to know them. Glad you waited to invest that 15 minutes of time for each player. Reason 873 that I am sick of you as the Brewers manager.
  12. Wouldn't the 60 days for Gamel be up soon anyway at the end of May or early June and so he can still be activated and sent down.
  13. It was better when you expected them to lose 95 times a year. This team should be so much better but I still feel the need to watch nightly. Thank god I will be on an Alaskan cruise in 10 days and won't be able to watch for a week.
  14. Another fake rally. This team needs to stop teasing me with these or I just need to realize they aren't going to win ever again.
  15. Sounds like he would fit in perfect with the Brewers then with their up and downs this season.
  16. So after not starting for 2 months and not being stretched out, he gets a 2 game audition to keep a job?
  17. The 9-0 lead is good but it worries me they won't score for the next 3 days. Pessimistic? Maybe. But this team is so close they either all get hot or cold simultaniously. They need to learn its okay for a few to be good one day without the rest doing likewise.
  18. Nobody expected a game 7, let alone the playoffs back in November. Good experience for Jennings to be in the playoffs. Actually looking forward to next basketball season for a change.
  19. Or when they have a manager who isn't out of touch with the players and wants them to act like its 1950 all over again.
  20. First congrats to Angel on the birth of his son. And secondly, my prayers will be with Angel as he gets well. Thanks for the update Coach.
  21. He's the closer so you go with him until he's not the closer or if he needs a day off. He doesn't need a day off so he is pitching and I may have to stop listening is how nervous I will be.
