  1. Mark Kotsay is part of the Padres' starting outfield today. My nightmare remains plausible (for those of you who didn't catch it in Tuesday's IGT): - a complete and perfect game for Suppan - with the final Brewers' out made on a Yount-esque diving catch by, say it with me, Kotsay in CF LF (I suppose he could be shading toward CF) - and a 1-0 win on a balkoff with Kotsay batting and Suppan on 3B. Or Suppan batting and Kotsay on 3B - that detail is interchangeable. I'd like to think that prepares me for the worst.
  2. I woke up this morning, heard the score but no other recap on the radio, checked the recap at brewers.com and gasped aloud once I realized what had happened. For glayvin out loud. So I've determined my nightmare scenario for Wednesday's game: - a complete and perfect game for Suppan - with the final Brewers' out made on a Yount-esque diving catch by, say it with me, Kotsay in CF - and a 1-0 win on a balkoff with Kotsay batting and Suppan on 3B. Or Suppan batting and Kotsay on 3B - that detail is interchangeable.
  3. Agh, I was up too late last night and paid for it all day today. I'm going to demonstrate my faith by going to bed.
  4. Sweet! Welcome (back) to Madison. See if Lake Mills Cleaners (serves Madison with free pickup/delivery) does hand press. http://www.lakemillscleaners.com/ If satellite isn't an option, I think your TV options are Charter and U-verse. I don't think U-verse is available in the whole city yet. We have Charter TV, which has given us very few problems, but we do not have a bundle. Otherwise, your questions suggest that you beat the hawing household at life, so my suggestions would not help you.
  5. The same announcement was made in the Padres press box, and audible over the Brewers Radio Network. /lunging to knock on wood
  6. Crap, why'd you have to bring that up? That's freaky. On the slight up-side, Reed Johnson doesn't seem to have been involved this time. Easy to say, but this might be a good time to take my signature to heart.
  7. I swear I'm not trying to start a panic, but I can't get out of my head the fact that Yovani's big knee injury was May 1, 2008. You want your sick May Day joke, here you (potentially) go.
  8. http://static.tumblr.com/wcpocmc/luQlziue0/worstsoupever1.png I found a terrific "bad soup" photo via google image search, but it's NSFBrewerfan. So I'll use this.
  9. Adam McCalvy just cited Soup's "Brewers killer" stats. I thought about asking him for Jeff's "Brewer killer" stats from when he was a Brewer (rimshot). Welp, sdcheezhd has got to be pumped now.
  10. For those of you who like to keep track of these things, Vinnie Chulk will wear jersey no. 54 for Milwaukee.
  11. Er, um, he's a rookie. 9:05 PM starts are not the ideal for those of us with Central or Eastern day jobs. Still, there is something comforting about falling asleep with Ueck's call. Come on, Brewers.
  12. It's harder to call a salute classless. Oh man, that game ending play was nerve-wracking to hear on the radio. "And this game is...(aaah, either tied or over)...OVER!" Having since seen the play, I understand why Bob had to pause, but gah. See, Brewers? They're just guys, much like you. And bonus happiness - they're out of our grill until July.
  13. Guys, you're not up against God here. Just another group of men. Save us, Zack Greinke.
  14. Fixed that for you. I feel fortunate that I missed most of this one, including/especially the TV announcing.
  15. My brother-in-law works for TDS (though moved from the Middleton office a few years ago). I think they have Netflix. I'll see if I can find out and message you separately if they do.
  16. So...Manny had a clean inning. Otherwise, this game reminds me of the Don Morton era of UW football, when fans would chant "we scored first" on those occasions when Wisconsin actually scored first.
  17. This isn't the case. If you were banned, you wouldn't be able to post. This game is bad, but there are ways to express that without cussing or namecalling. Find those ways.
  18. Getting back to the subject at hand, maybe this game will get the front office thinking that making do with the current group in Narveson's absence might in fact not do.
  19. That's not a good excuse for the language you used. Using "gay" to denote garbage is unacceptable here. Stop.
  20. Someone at UW's Memorial Union today is on a Madonna kick. Too much Madonna on the jukebox this last hour. I could tolerate "Like a Prayer" if it had to be an ear worm, but the last song on before we left was "Like a Virgin." Boo!
