  1. Congratulations. Be sure to aim the T-shirt guns at Brewerfan members. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Ooh, if you could post some photos of Chase that would be neat. Our tour during spring training 2007 suffered from poor timing; they weren't yet done converting the purple-and-teal to the red-based color scheme. Even the fan store was low on merchandise as a result.
  3. You are correct; our first regular season game will be April 6, same day as our usher friend's birthday. I'm hoping our first trip to MP will be April 3 (with 3/4 of the nephews and nieces). Some fortunate friends and family will be using our April 5 tickets. My opening day tradition is to follow it with bf.net users. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif It would be nice if opening day weren't so close to spring break; it's harder for me to take off around that time because it seems I'm always covering for coworkers with kids.
  4. On the bright side, if you are in the last row of any section, no one can throw up on you from behind. Win win! I should add that in our fan's choice years we've always submitted seat locations by like mid-January; but if there's anyone for whom the Brewers save OD tickets, you'd think it would be those willing to commit to 20 or more games.
  5. It has been, because we've included it in our fan's choice pack in previous years. (This year we are trying Opening Day Plus instead of fan's choice.) Ask a ticket rep about it; and be prepared to have a much different location for opening day than for your other games.
  6. Speaking from a perspective not unlike that of a maintenance person, it's nice to see y'all return...kind of like the swallows at Capistrano, or a school in August. Welcome back.
  7. But...St. Cloud is not a state! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. According to the Brewers.com countdown clock, pitchers and Molinas report in less than two hours. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Not to be a downer, but I think a 7 is written on your Cain bobble base.
  10. Or visit Madison and it's on TVW.
  11. I suppose there is value to knowing in advance that you have X number of tickets, in a known location, to each of four games, one of which includes a bobblehead giveaway. (At least I assume 4-pack customers have the same seats for each game.) Some fans would opt for this ahead of lining up or sitting in a virtual waiting room on February 27.
  12. That is my guess too, since they are characterizing this jersey as the "alternate road jersey."
  13. I was thinking about this the other day (probably because baseball has become increasingly difficult to banish from my mind). Sadly, I doubt the proposal went anywhere - otherwise someone would be promoting it by now. If it ever does resurface, I'll immediately implement my plan to buy personalized ball-glove plates, use them for one year, switch back to regular plates and display the Brewer plates at home somewhere. Incidentally, jjkoestler, your plates look great on your Alaskan ride. The plate design itself is also pretty. Thanks for posting the results.
  14. Yeah, pretty much. Successories used to have stores in malls where you could buy motivational posters and other merchandise - as in DatHoser's post above, only real instead of snarky. So the notion of Successories failing as a store seemed ironic at best to me. The link above lists only four bricks-and-mortar stores for Successories anymore, so I guess they've channeled their success into e-commerce. Also: DatHoser, I know the billboard location you mean. I think it's for Waukesha County Technical College. To be fair, "and proud of it" matches up better with some of the other examples in that advertising series.
  15. DatHoser's post reminds me of one of the best photo opportunities that I've ever missed out on. Madison used to have a Successories store in West Towne Mall, which later moved to Market Square on Odana Road. I continue to rue the day that I drove down Odana Road and saw the "Successories Store Closing Sale" sandwich board sign on the side of the road...and didn't have a camera. In case you wondered about my other great missed photo op: some Madisonians or UW-Madison alumni might recall that there was a Chocolate Shoppe in a corner of the old University Square mall. When the Badgers went to the 1994 Rose Bowl, the hand lettered sign in the University Square Chocolate Shoppe window read: CLOSED (dates spanning the holidays) ROSE BOWEL BOUND
  16. Thank you! Mike Mahnke (PA system voice of the Badgers) is going to love pronouncing that. As it stands now, when he introduces the Badgers' starting five before games, he stretches the BO syllable in Bohannon so long it's almost silly. I enjoy listening to Mahnke. He brings the same enthusiasm to high school games ("versus the CRICKETS! Of Fall Creek!") that he does to RON DAYNE! or KEATON! NANNNNN-KIVIL! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Don't forget Carne Estrada being Mr. Cooperative in the process of being Ben's 18th K to finish the game.
  18. With apologies for my ignorance, how is Duje Dukan pronounced? I'm just curious (though I guess if he's headed to Madison I'd find out eventually).
  19. Those old-school Home Run Derby episodes are a very enjoyable time waster for me. I had no idea (until I checked, just now) that the series was so short-lived and why it ended so abruptly.
  20. I didn't see all of the Super Bowl (and thus not all of the commercials), but I finally saw the Kia ad where the toys came to life and enjoyed it - especially the music, which I even decided to buy on iTunes. However, I am not in the market for a Kia, so the advertisers didn't completely beat me.
  21. I don't think you're the only one. I'll admit that I don't make a concerted effort to stay informed about MU hoops (beyond what appears in this thread), but in games where UW (or UWGB, where I worked for a couple of years during the Dick Bennett era) is not the opponent, sure, I'd root for them.
  22. It makes me happy to see Brewers ads in the Madison market, if for no other reason than by mid-February I'm very antsy for baseball. However, since the ads are all for 9-packs, I wonder if this means ticket sales are lagging, and if so by how much.
  23. So...Thursday. Well, let's hope he's ready.
  24. Maybe that should be "holy biscuits." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
