  1. Khalil Greene has had problems with anxiety. Could that be who you're thinking of?
  2. Ohio State's once again got a player who looks like he's in his 30s. I wonder how old Greg Oden looks now.
  3. In other words, battlekow is classy.
  4. Or maybe one of his ancestors: link Thanks, wisconsinhistory.org! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Because there's a longish spring training travel thread in Major Leagues already, I'm going to lock this and direct the discussion there.
  6. Does anyone happen to have this cap? I'd like to find a winter cap with a visor, but I suspect the cap might be more "April/October baseball" weight than "upper Midwest winter" weight. (Though if global warming predictions come true and Wisconsin winters become increasingly mild in our lifetimes, I'd be set, and by then it might even be a retro design.)
  7. Let's just hope battlekow doesn't scuff up my bag the way crewcrazy did. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Glad to have you aboard.
  8. http://www.mcgwire.com/picturearchive/simpsons/simp1.jpg "Do you want to know the terrifying truth, or do you want to see me sock a few dingers?" Most of you know how the Springfieldians replied.
  9. I'm still not impressed. That ESPN clip linked to in the lead post is making me smirk: "Why would this come up now?" Oh, like you don't know.
  10. Let's continue the conversation here.
  11. Nice indeed. I gave up my ticket so the S.O. could take his brother; I think I've just earned myself some sweetie points.
  12. Holy Mother of Fruitcakes? That's an awesome phrase and it's not bugging me that you used it.
  13. The lost-and-found at my workplace has a St. Anthony medal in it. My Google search indicates that St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost articles. Huh.
  14. That would make sense, in a way, but he's a motivational speaker whose website has its own multi-page FAQ. I just finally saw the whole movie (not just parts) last night. Dude was a little too obsessed with ND football. I couldn't help but think someone with that kind of single-minded focus nowadays would maybe be directed to mental health services of some sort.
  15. Actually, I just looked at my email and a response from the city arrived at 8:30: So, it was less than 15 hours real-time, and maybe an hour or so of "business hours" time to get a response. Note, though, that the problem I reported concerned a private property owner, not a city service.
  16. Link from Angels website Brewers TV from 1992-1994 and Brewers radio backup from 1984-1994. I'm glad he had the opportunity to call a World Series for the Angels. But wow, you'd think the Angels would have absorbed enough losses lately.
  17. I hadn't responded yet out of sheer snow-weariness. I did send a complaint last night to the city of Madison for a property I pass on my walk home that did a poor job of snow removal. I have to be pretty fed up with sidewalk conditions to do that.
  18. Man, was Rudy ever obsessed with Notre Dame football.
  19. I appreciate the share, even though this quote gave me the willies:
  20. I don't know the cost of amputation - with our first cat we were presented with the options of amputation (leg + shoulder blade) or palliative care, and since she was much older at the time we opted for the latter - but I wonder if the cost would be all that different, since it's still surgery, just a different procedure. I'm sorry that you have to make this choice. I've loved the photos you've previously posted of Tyson and wish him and you the best.
  21. My mother asked for some tech support for her PC, so off we went this afternoon. It turned out she had never installed a Windows update since getting the computer in January 2005 (thinking that they were Microsoft's attempts to sell her something). So it took a lot longer than I thought just to install SP 3 and download a browser newer than IE 6. Her original question was about the camera card slot in her CPU, which has a bent pin and so is not accepting her camera card. I brought cables and installed the clunky (old camera) Kodak software and showed her another way to get her photos onto the computer. After that was when she pointed out the new printer, still in the box, which she bought 3 months ago but hasn't taken out of the box yet because she wants to get her money's worth out of the last ink cartridge in her old printer. The new printer, of course, has camera card slots. I wish she had shown me that sooner.
  22. Does the On Deck thing on January 31 include a rummage sale? It did when the event was held at MP at the end of spring training, but we didn't get to last year's so I don't know if they've removed that part.
  23. 2010 is approaching quickly and I haven't decided whether to call it "twenty-ten" or "two-thousand-ten." Both sound clunky.
  24. For those who didn't already know, this is a Milwaukee Art Museum exhibit...that closes on Sunday, January 3. That being the case, I don't think we'll get there in time. When in Pittsburgh earlier this decade, we visited the Warhol museum there and enjoyed it.
  25. Maybe once it's t-shirt weather again, I'll wear my Branyan player tee for grocery shopping. ----- Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=30502
