  1. Yeah ewizabeff! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If we lived in Milwaukee, I'd have been tempted to try the TTT package when it was first offered, just so we'd have the leisure of up and deciding on any given day/night, "let's go to the game!" and know we'd have seats.
  2. Since it was a TBS broadcast, I wonder if the NLDS win could be rebroadcast on FSN / FSWisconsin. If the September 23, 25 and 28 games are not immediate no-brainers for Brewers Classics, then FSWisconsin has to rethink the entire concept. I'd also consider the September 26 win over the Cubs (thanks, Rickie and Big Seth). A Sheets complete game shutout would make a lot of sense, as would any of a number of Sabathia starts: his first Brewers start vs. Colorado on July 8, his July 13 start vs. the Reds (featuring his home run), and/or his August 31 one-hitter vs. the Pirates. Those are just the CC starts that occur to me off the top of my head. There could almost be a "Sabathia Classics" series. Any of the wins vs. STL during that four-game series in July could be candidates. I'd personally add the Dave Bush Strikeout Showcase vs. Colorado on July 10, but that's the kind of game you deem a 'classic' from a year that was otherwise uneventful. Honestly, from the 2008 season, the Brewers finally have a lot of worthy candidates for 'classic' game rebroadcasts. I look forward to seeing them too.
  3. Yeah, so went the conversation between me and the S.O. Saturday night: S.O.: Hockey team won. hawing: What was the score? S.O.: 6-0. hawing: Ooh, ice cream goal!
  4. I think jnatro is abbreviating Terrace Ticket Treat.
  5. I love the way the high life guy takes up like 75% of your avatar. Oh, look, there's ewizabeff too! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. I don't have our season ticket renewal thing at hand right now, but I think the first ST game is vs. Oakland at Maryvale. I definitely remember the date of the first game, as it is also my birthday : February 25. Edit: I checked the flyer at home Friday night. First spring training game is February 25 vs. Oakland at Maryvale.
  7. I beat you to the 80s-pop-music-snobbery when I edited my reply #6 yesterday. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. I think it's more like Madison's "Charlie FM." When I was in high school and college, the FM station in Monroe did Christmas music right (in my opinion). At the time it was an "easy listening" station, really kind of stodgy; but the day after Thanksgiving it would start to play a little bit of holiday music, then gradually increase the percentage until it was mostly holiday by like December 20. The station has since changed ownership, but I liked that pattern better than the two-month binge strategy employed at many stations nowadays.
  9. The switches these two stations made to Christmas were documented here by the Journal Sentinel. Per that link (and following it to the third station's website), apparently B93.3 will switch on November 13. Thus a week from today, Milwaukee will have three radio stations broadcasting all Christmas music; and probably all with super short playlists that don't do the holiday genre justice. In a weak attempt to steer this back more toward the original topic, I'm not a fan of sudden radio station format changes.
  10. Oh, 95.7 I recognize. That's one of the Milwaukee stations we have preset in the car (the S.O. likes the 70s music). So both they and 99.1 are all Christmas now? Did Milwaukee need two Christmas stations? That's a rhetorical question, no need to answer. Edit: Not to go all 80s on you, trwi, but it sounds like you heard "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats. That's actually one of my favorite 80s pop songs. Men at Work sang of the land down under and inspired a brief vegemite craze in the U.S. OK, I'll shut up now.
  11. I wonder how popular it'll be in January or so, but since there are Sonics in Iowa, I suppose it'll work here too. I can tell you that if someone offered me a cherry limeade right now, I'd take it.
  12. What was WKTI's format before today? (asking from outside the Milwaukee market)
  13. I spent part of Tuesday night watching a Brewers Classic (2007 Opening Day) and still just shuddered when 'the hag' came on. I agree with 1992casey that Trenni was interesting and well-prepared; I'd add that she also seemed interested in the Brewers. I always got the feeling Ann Carroll was just readin' stuff for the network. Plus only one of them reminds me of my long-gone 1970s Malibu Barbie. Well, the hair, at least: http://www.dolls4play.com/thumbnails/mc179.jpg http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/2629/anncarrolloh0.jpg
  14. Perhaps it's time to start a drive to bring AmyintheSouth to Wisconsin for a visit.
  15. OK, here is the Opening Day Plus game list, per the flyer we received this week: Fri 4/10, 3:05, CHC (duh, opening day) Tue 4/14, 7:05, CIN Thu 4/30, 7:05, ARI Tue 5/12, 7:05, FLA (Wes Helms appreciation night?) Wed 5/13, 7:05, FLA Tue 5/26, 7:05, STL Wed 6/10, 7:05, COL Tue 6/23, 7:05, MIN Wed 6/24, 7:05, MIN Mon 6/29, 7:05, NYM Wed 7/8, 7:05, STL Mon 7/27, 7:05, WAS Wed 7/29, 7:05, WAS Wed 8/12, 7:05, SD Tue 8/25, 7:05, CIN Wed 8/26, 7:05, CIN Fri 9/4, 7:05, SF Tue 9/8, 7:05, STL Mon 9/21, 7:05, CHC Tue 9/22, 7:05, CHC Regarding the opportunity to buy additional single-game tickets before the general public, I also found the mailing we got last offseason. For the 2008 season, you could purchase up to four tickets per marquee game for the cost of general public, non-marquee tickets. For non-marquee games, you paid the general public price. Last season, the single-game ticket mailing was dated January 22 and the return deadline was February 15.
  16. You've got a good looking puppy there, bobbledude.
  17. Our list of 20-game packages is at home. If no one has posted it by tonight, I'll try to remember to do so. As for the single-game tickets form that season ticket holders normally get in winter, I thought we paid face value, not less. If I can find evidence in our Brewers folder at home, I'll post it.
  18. I believe they were handed out at the gates on October 4 (the Saturday NLDS game).
  19. When I read the thread, the colors line up like they did for Sam. In the Post a reply screen, the colors are opposite. I don't know if that matters. This thread is now crying out for an image of the Simpsons episode where the Springfield Elementary school uniforms take on psychedelic colors, after being exposed to rain and not being colorfast...but sadly, I haven't been able to find one.
  20. On Halloween in 1983 someone fell off the top of what was then Brown's Book Store (now the Digital Outpost). He died from his injuries, and it may not have helped that another reveler had stolen the keys to the nearest ambulance, causing a delay in the emergency response. I don't recall anything that serious happening when UW won that Tokyo Bowl in 1993. I do recall the celebration of the Tokyo Bowl win being bigger than the celebration when UW actually won the Rose Bowl (since the campus was cleared out for the holidays on January 1). ] I do remember a wonderful hand-written sign in the window of the Chocolate Shoppe, back when it had a location in University Square: CLOSED DEC 26-JAN 3 ROSE BOWEL BOUND I still regret not having had a camera with me at that time.
  21. Especially those Hawaiian polar bears. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Well, the last domino of the lower 48.
  23. I left work at 9:25, reached the polling place at 9:40, and was in and out by 9:44, number 507 to vote in my ward. Booyah. The longest part was getting back to work, since the vote went so quickly that no return bus was due to come back sooner than I could walk. But the weather is flat-out gorgeous today, so that was pretty nice.
