  1. I don't know if it's so much outright "happiness" as a bit of a silver lining. Like "dang, not the Brewers' year for the WS, but meh, at least G-Whiff got a ring."
  2. Yeah, if you live in Madison and vote at 306 N. Brooks (across from Grainger), the line was out the door, down Brooks St. and around the corner to Johnson already, at 7:30.
  3. bucks2281, it may be time to change your signature, if at least to "made it happen." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. If you still live at the address at which you registered last year, you should not have to register again. If your address has changed since you registered last year, expect to have to register again. You'd need to present proof of identity and your current address. A Wisconsin driver's license or non-driving state ID card is preferred, along with a document (lease, utility bill, or a reasonably official piece of mail - i.e. not a personal letter or Resident mail) that shows you have been living at your current address for at least 10 days. Your UWM card might be OK to establish proof of identity, but can't be used alone if it doesn't have your address on it (and I don't think UW ID cards include address info). According to this information from the state's Government Accountability Board, if you lack a valid driver's license, you can supply the last four digits of your Social Security number. Hope that helps. Edit: Or yeah, what Baldkin said.
  5. Is that the "exclusive gift" hinted at in the letter they mailed about a month ago? I don't mean to sound like a perk snob, and I admit that for me, personally, the Brewers would have a hard time topping the meet-Corey-Hart opportunity I happily seized last spring...but the opportunity to visit the Metavante Club just doesn't sound all that appealing. Still, it's fun to get the dates of our preset 20 pack (also Sunday Plus), which means I can get down to picking the games for our fan's choice package. For those of you wondering, there are six all-fan giveaway dates, all on Sundays (though only five of the six are in the Sunday Plus pack): May 3, May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 20.
  6. Under the photo of J.J. are several of fans, including the Doorman. Rickey24, it looks like the Brewers are expecting you back for 2009 as well. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. Here's a friendly reminder that the BF Political Scene (managed by Toby, not by bf.net) is ready and waiting for your political commentary. There's even a chat room! Just in case anyone's got politics on their minds this week...
  8. That's a bummer, Baldkin. We've had fan's choice TB seats since 2002 (though our season ticket seniority goes back to 1996), but I think the main reason our seat location has been as stable as it's been is because we request family section seats - so we're always in 417 (although the location within TB 417 varies a bit). I realize it's not a popular option, but if you can get by without alcohol at your seats, that might be worth exploring.
  9. Gah, 99.1 WMYX in Milwaukee did switch to all Christmas/holiday music today - November 1. This is too early for me, and I like Christmas music. I can only imagine how irritating it is for those who aren't a fan of the genre.
  10. I asked my student employees about O.A.R. and got mostly eye rolls. But I only have 9 employees, so that's a small sample. Of course, being forty-something, I'd never heard of them before they were announced as the Freakfest headliner.
  11. The tickets cost a bit more on the day of the event, so that could theoretically kind of favor Madison residents. Also, if your residence is on State Street, you're not charged to be on 'your' street. A couple of my student employees live on State, and they've told me how it works, but I don't recall (and I'm not going to call them right now to find out).
  12. After attending four UW volleyball matches in the last week, I believe the wheels have come off the Badgers' wagon. They haven't played this poorly since the 20th century.
  13. I was going to go to the State Street Walgreens in a moment...does that count? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. The Brewers' press release on ticket prices (linked above) includes this mention of parking: I'd expect any price changes on concessions to be announced separately.
  15. This thread reminds me of Wisconsin's 2000 trip to the Final Four. The Badgers beat Purdue in the regional final. The celebration in Madison was large but did not get out of hand. In West Lafayette, fans were lighting fires and causing trouble. You might say, "well, sure, Purdue lost" - but they also set furniture aflame and caused similar trouble after their Elite Eight qualifying game, when they won. Sadly, I was more surprised that the Wisconsin celebration was so tame. We went to the middle of the night welcome-home at the stadium, which was an all-ages crowd (families with kids up to the elderly red-sweater crowd), and nothing big or bad happened. It makes me wonder how Wisconsin fans would react nowadays to a 'big victory', or how much of a challenge it would be for us to get home following a similarly big Brewers victory - I mean like a late night, WS type victory.
  16. Renewal information is on the "My Brewers Tickets" page for season ticket holders. The price per game isn't listed, though it's easy to calculate. Also listed is the credit for postseason games which were billed but not played. For our account, the postseason credit makes up about 75% of the bill for 2009.
  17. So his bat will eventually have enough pop to help the Brewers get into the playoffs late in some future season? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Also, I love that I can Google "Crazy Joe Dillon" and 66.6% of the results lead me straight to Brewerfan. (The other 33.3% leads indirectly to Brewerfan, as it is a comment on another blog made by one of our posters.) If that's not a legacy, I don't know what is.
  18. Those of you actually getting content, feel free to enter the chat to tell the rest of us what's going on. Edit: WTMJ finally joins in online, just about mid-sentence for Macha.
  19. What am I doing wrong if, upon opening the Listen Live! window for 620 AM, I get only commercials? Edit: Must be nice to have the day off, bensheeps. Hmph! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I'm sure Brewerfan can find a way to coin the word Machavellian. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. If it's not on TV in Madison, I'd expect ESPN 1070 to break into their programming to carry audio.
  22. I'm expecting to get our renewal information Friday or Saturday - allowing for about 2 weeks to decide what to do. If I had our season ticket password on hand instead of at home, I'd check the online account now to see if the renewal stuff already appears there, because I wouldn't be surprised if it does. Although the Brewers did send a letter a couple of weeks ago listing 11/17 as the early renewal deadline (to get the deepest discount and whatever other perk they might toss in), 2 to 2-1/2 weeks does seem like a short turnaround for making a decision, considering that the (in most cases) increased price information has only been released today. I'd like to think the Brewers' sales or marketing staff have taken the current state of the economy into account when planning their approach to 2009 renewals. It is certainly fortunate for the organization that the Brewers got to the playoffs this year, otherwise it might be a difficult sell indeed.
  23. From rm121978's link: Section 238 has been one of the family sections to date. I wonder if that status is changing.
  24. That's right, we have a Phillies fan here. Good for you! Every fan base has its black sheep (Milwaukee's included), but every World Series win is 'well deserved' for someone. Bask in the glow today, Unstable. Someday we'll hope to have our turn.
