  1. I think it's more likely that minions (perhaps like Doug's son) check this and other sites and send summaries on up. Jack Z probably has his own minions. And if you are reading, I use the term minion pretty generically, not because you aren't valuable people. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. There's too much lightning for me to stay on the computer any more tonight. Weather's gone crazy. I'll try from the library on Monday. Edit: The chatroom was functional for a few of us on Monday morning. May it last.
  3. Seriously, I've become almost desensitized to the weather radio, the alarm's gone off so many times this weekend. I'll bet it has sounded thirty* times since noon Saturday. I'd just like the storm to let up for long enough to allow me to take a shower. I'm hoping that's not too much to ask. *Edit, two minutes later: thirty-one times.
  4. Well, that didn't happen, and to a degree that might be just as well. I like dogs, but imagine the Wet Dog Fest that would have ensued.
  5. 4.93" of rain in Milwaukee on Saturday - a new record - which makes Madison's equally new June 7 record of 2.23" look downright weak. The NWS' new warning system (where warnings are tailored to the actual path of a storm, and don't necessarily pertain to the whole of a county) certainly got a workout. However, the TV stations have not caught up with that development. When there was a tornado warning for northern Dane County until 4:30 PM and a tornado warning for southeastern Dane County until 5:00 PM, the weather radio kept them straight, but the scrolls on TV would just say Dane County - which made for a confusing display for those just watching on TV. Oh, goody, it's the weather radio alarm, again.
  6. Now the tornado watch (for south central Wisconsin) has been extended to last until 3:00 AM. That's over 12 hours of tornado watchness. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. For a while in south central Wisconsin, the warnings came in almost too quickly to allow keeping track of them. Rain, wind, maybe a little hail in my part of Madison (near west), but that seems to have been all. There was a report of rotation near the Alliant Energy Center. Maybe NeedMoreFans can speak to that. As of 5:30, the only tornado warning in southern Wisconsin is for Milwaukee County, with a reported tornado spotted near the zoo, moving toward the Domes and Miller Park. Noooo!
  8. Watch out to the northwest of Madison - there's a bunch of tornado warnings, covering (among other areas) Prairie du Chien and the Dells. Madison TV channels all have their weekend backup metereologists doing the live storm coverage. With all due respect, you can tell they're the backups. One person's voice is shaking; I wonder if she has loved ones in the affected area. Edit: Now Columbia County is included. Watch out, FTJ!
  9. Can anyone tell whether Gabe Gross joined in? I can't tell from the video and he seems a less than likely participant.
  10. Brewers, Brewers, keep turning up the heat.
  11. University. The walk light is on to cross University. Park. The walk light is on to cross Park. (UW-Madison posters know what I'm talking about)
  12. I have the same lack of graphics, and did Thursday afternoon too. Frankly, I assumed it was related to heavy website traffic due to the draft - but maybe not.
  13. How fun was it to listen to Daron calling these last few games, pitch?
  14. I'm certainly indecisive this week when it comes to the avatar. Now I have a photo from today's game which features the Brewers' two most recent inside-the-park home run hitters. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. How'd it go, razzz? (I don't mean the game, I mean your kids' experience at the park.) Obviously, an awesome game to attend under any circumstance except as a D-backs fan.
  16. Yes. I believe the state would like to try to get some of that back, however slim the odds are of that working out. Incidentally, nice avatar and signature, jcr0nk.
  17. I wonder if Daron professed man-love for any of the Brewers during this series (as he was wont to do with the likes of David Eckstein).
  18. As of 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, this story is still atop the "Most Popular" list on the Capital Times' website.
  19. I am 90 percent certain I saw Parra jersey tees at the field level Fan Zone (the original store) Monday night. (I was checking in faint hope for a Branyan tee, which I would have snapped up in seconds flat, had one been there.)
  20. 7 tonight on FSN. OK, I know what I'm doing this evening, then. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. I saw it happen in person, but I am still trying to get it around my head that (run-wise, at least), Seth McClung outpitched Randy Johnson. I tipped my cap to Seth at the end of his outing tonight and virtually tip it again now. We had tickets to five games in this homestand, and this was the last one. The Brewers' record on the hawing ticket has gone from 4-3 to 9-3 in the last week. Crazy, but the kind of crazy I can live with. Please don't falter between Wednesday and our next game in the Twins series! Billy should have been roundly booed for that hit off a right hander. Was this supposed to be in blue? because there were boos after the Bill Hall hit (not from me). I was hoping a hit would maybe quiet the boobirds.
  22. Sharpie tribute is over, he got his no-decision for me and the Brewers won to boot. Now I'll give Corey a chance. If he has a horrible night in the field tonight I'll change it to something else.
  23. Or the guys who aren't so technologically hip, but decide they can behave as they please, 'cause they're at the ballgame, dagnabbit (only they don't really say dagnabbit). Like the older foursome in front of us last night, who mostly lobbed poorly thought out insults at the Brewers (and to a lesser extent at each other). These guys were in the front row and one of them spread his legs apart and used the railing as an ottoman for his feet, which led to an extra charming posture. Fortunately, his shorts provided adequate coverage. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif On the up side, the boorish guys left after the sausage race, which both improved our view and showed them for missing the Brewers' comeback. I know there are real/serious fans in the club section (indeed, there are posters here with club seats), but I never seem to find them in our annual trip there. And the restrooms don't have audio! so I can't keep up on the game when I'm there. At first I wondered if that was only a women's room issue, but the S.O. assured me the men's rooms had no game audio either. Sorry for the mini rant. I guess baseball itself appeals to me more than many of the club amenities. I'm glad the nachos worked for you, sgt.
  24. Wow, sgt, if you took that picture from your seat last night, you couldn't have been more than a couple of sections away from us (333). Now I'm completely hungry for nachos. I don't really feel at home in the "club section" world, but the expanded menu once a season is nice.
  25. Anyway, how about that pitching matchup tonight? A future HOFer against, well, Seth McClung. Yeah. While part of me knows that games aren't played on paper (as we've seen a few times this season already), the rest of me is struggling to be hopeful. Tonight's game is our fifth attended since last Tuesday. This is an astounding pace, given our distance from Milwaukee. (It helps considerably that the Brewers are 4-0 in games we've attended this homestand.) Seth & Co, I'm only asking that you not make us feel like this trip is a waste of time. Thanks!
