  1. Check out this Wikipedia entry on keyboard layout, for a ton of different languages. I actually also had a random thought: Every time I see a box of Kix cereal, or eat a bowl of Kix, I think to myself, "Kicks just keep gettin' harder to find." It's like a reflex.
  2. Does anyone remember if the rummage sale works on a cash only basis or are people able to use credit cards too? Bacon, they've accepted credit cards at the last few sales I've attended (including the two in 2007), so I'd be surprised if they changed course for tomorrow.
  3. Note that the Brewers Radio Network coverage may be disrupted since the UW basketball game is also this evening.
  4. WGN showed Field of Dreams tonight (and are showing it again from 10-midnight CDT) - in case you want to test your ability to withstand teariness. Of course, I failed.
  5. I think I can top this. At my workplace, I've been asked to clear out a section of study carrels because the space is going to be renovated for another use. One of the (now former) occupants left used Stridex and Oxy pads all over this little room. Yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck. I cannot say "yuck" enough.
  6. That's a good story, FTJ. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm not sure what to expect from the rummage sale this time. There tends to be miscellaneous merchandise at 'rummage sale' prices (like old promotion items, outdated stuff like Vargas jersey tees, ugly caps, etc.), and then game used or player worn jerseys/bats, whjch tend to be pricier. Last year's spring rummage sale included sort of an 'also-ran/never-was' showcase of jerseys from early 2000s players (like the Wayne Franklin/Matt Kinney days, only more obscure players). I think those were offered for $75 each. I was wishing I'd gone to the sale with other bf.netters, because a lot of the jerseys could only be truly appreciated by fans as die-hard as we are. At that sale I got some Geoff Jenkins 3-ring binders for a dollar each, a kid lunchbox for $1 or $2, and a Mark Loretta kid baseball glove for $2. Things like that. The most recent sale in December had a lot of low priced items (mildly crappy, like ugly Brewers ornaments and "1982 silver anniversary" magnets and key chains) and a bunch of high priced items ($500 for a Corey Hart jersey, stratospherically higher prices for anything related to Ryan or Prince). The also-ran jerseys last year were around $75, for names like Jose Hernandez and Marcus Hanel. I guess the point of a rummage sale is you never know what they're going to set out.
  7. How many times has the same guy (Unknown) been the starting pitcher for both teams? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif This must be historic.
  8. Yeah, I think the Badgers may pull more fans away than the Bucks. But I say that as a Madison resident who isn't at all in tune with the Bucks.
  9. I'm no big tough guy...and accordingly, I tear up during certain movies. A few off the top of my head: Field of Dreams (really, who can get through the father-and-son-having-a-catch scene dry-eyed?) The end of Major League, when the Indians win the big game and fans go crazy in County Stadium. (As an aside, the night the Brewers were eliminated from the 2007 pennant race, some network aired this movie. That's right, just kick me when I'm already down.) It's not a movie as such, but when I watch the tape I made of the closing ceremony for County Stadium, I get out the Kleenex like other people do for a romantic tear-jerker. Also, It's A Wonderful Life. Every time.
  10. BB4L, your question appears to be answered by this information from the site to which Blancofan1 linked: Stimulus Payment Schedule for Tax Returns Direct Deposit Payments If you get your rebate through direct deposit, you will receive it based on the last two digits of your Social Security Number according to the following: SSN Date of Deposit 00 - 20 May 2 21 - 75 May 9 76 - 99 May 16 Paper Check If you get your rebate through mailing, you will receive it based on the last two digits of your Social Security Number according to the following: SSN Date of mailing 00 - 09 May 16 10 - 18 May 23 19 - 25 May 30 26 - 38 June 6 39 - 51 June 13 52 - 63 June 20 64 - 75 June 27 76 - 87 July 4 88 - 99 July 11 As for how to post a link with a "title" to click on instead of a huge long URL... Click on the Insert Hyperlink button above the message composition window - you'll see three places to enter text. Paste or type the URL into the URL box. The Text box (bottom of the three) is where you can enter what you want readers to see instead of the URL. Yet if people click on it, they'll get to your URL. What a country!
  11. The family sections are 217, 238 and 417.
  12. It almost makes too much sense, but at the same time it's really goofy. I mean, what teacher realizes for the first time that he/she wants to teach around age 23? I am not a teacher and so can't address your post directly; but I don't think 23 is anywhere near "too late" to be realizing anything for the first time. So please don't think that makes you goofy. (I can't speak for the rest of your life, of course. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif )
  13. Think of the chances that the first series will be at least 1/3 rescheduled. That could help.
  14. I guess living a block away from Meriter was good for something. (BuckyTuba and I used to be neighbors - not that either of us knew it at the time.)
  15. I don't think Noochie is going to get past Rowdy Hardy. Dude's name is Rowdy. What's not to love?
  16. Maybe your daughter can be persuaded that the first tooth and the last tooth get a little extra, since they're a little extra special. If not, start saving. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. Like jazzytrav, only the secret stadium sauce. And I dislike ketchup, so we don't keep any in the house.
  18. I only have one so far: The Brewers will vote a share of their postseason earnings for Chris Capuano. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. The NCAA could choose to simply leave the championship vacant, rather than transfer it to Wisconsin.
  20. Oh no! We're out of mustard! Thanks, Ross, for calling my attention to this.
  21. mlccrispy, check your inbox.
  22. What are the factors that go into this? Is it simply a matter of birth location? So far, many of the comments in this thread ("X will always be home to me") suggest that location of birth or upbringing makes a difference - but we probably all know people who spent their childhood just waiting to be able to get out of their hometown. The factors that help a person decide where to live are as varied as people themselves. I really like living in Wisconsin, and I'm sure part of the reason is that I've never lived elsewhere and the majority of my family are here. Although individual stretches of weather sometimes bug me, I believe I would miss the four seasons if I moved to another climate. In terms of weather hazards, I'm not too wild about tornadoes, but I think I'd really dislike living in, say, earthquake country, where your world can literally crumble with no advance warning. I like that Midwesterners are generally down to earth people. It doesn't seem outlandishly expensive to live here. I feel reasonably safe most of the time. I think the quality of life here is at a good level. Wisconsin's "alcohol culture" is not a perfect match to my lifestyle, but I've found ways to manage that. I've lived in Janesville, Monroe, Beloit, Madison and Green Bay. I felt "at home" as soon as I moved to Madison, and (with one brief exception) I've lived here happily ever since.
  23. Did I see that right? Stiemsma with 13? I guess NCAA tournament of your senior year is a pretty good time to establish a new career high. Edit: Whoops, I did not see that right. But 7 points at the half at least means he can't get more fouls than points today!
