  1. MLB doesn't seem to want the highlights to be available online anymore, which is a bummer. In the hawing household, we define any game with 25 or more total hits as a wacky slugfest. Tonight I believe the 25th hit was Yuni's bomb.
  2. This is the first home series since at least 2011 which wasn't covered in either of our 20-game packs. Between the happy result last night and tonight's weather, I'm kind of missing it. It'll surely be 40-something and wet by the time we go back on Thursday.
  3. That game was so Brewers-Pirates. If it were any other team doing the pwnage, I'd definitely feel bad for Pirate nation. As it is, I feel mildly bad for them. Don't let up, Milwaukee.
  4. I suppose it beats Fox Sports Chicks or Fox Sports Babes...marginally. The "Girls" are kind of another reason why if I'm not at the ballpark, I prefer to follow games by radio. Trenni brought the most overall value to the FSWisconsin sideline efforts, by far, and everyone else since (male and female) has paled in comparison for me. Sophia is not the valley of the shadow of death that Ann Carroll* was when she was on the Wisconsin team, but she often doesn't seem very enthusiastic. Then again, at least she's not overly enthusiastic. *Ah, geez, it turns out Ann Carroll faced/beat ovarian cancer when she was a teenager, so picking on her doesn't even feel right anymore: Link
  5. Adrian Gonzalez apparently has a small skin infection on his right leg. Ew.
  6. On Saturday I visited the team store and noticed that the supply of Segura shirseys was down a bit, but with a jersey, you'll still be a step ahead of the masses.
  7. A month ago, a bunch of us (myself included) were still all "no no no not Lohse." Now this.
  8. Aw, man, pretendastronaut totally wiped out my pithy lame comment about it being Weather Day at Miller Park while there's all kinds of nutty weather going on outdoors.

  10. Catching up...it sure was nice to see a burst of offense, even if it meant getting home closer to 1:00 AM. I shared everyone's worry about the bullpen, but they held it together enough. There was quite a bit of orange in the stands this game, and a few instances of "Let's go Giants" chants. Also, welcome, Mac, and kudos to you and your savvy kids.
  11. This was positively very very necessary. Indubitably. Even if that hit proves to be the peak of Blake Lalli's MLB career, I'm glad he had it. I stayed up a little longer to watch the Lalli interview, expressly to see who'd deliver the pie to his face.
  12. Wisconsin's statewide tornado drill, originally scheduled for Thursday 4/18, has been postponed to Friday 4/19 because of the possibility of severe thunderstorms in the southeast third of the state on Thursday. (The NWS doesn't want any real warnings misinterpreted as drills.)
  13. Most of what I'm thinking is not forum-friendly. That's right, hawing's thinking that. Yo had better shape the hell up and not pull this crap again.
  14. If Kameron can just stick on their roster until Friday...
  15. Starters for Everything That's Good About Baseball (ETGAB): CF Jon Jay 3B Matt Carpenter LF Matt Holliday RF Allen Craig C Yadier Molina 1B Matt Adams SS Pete Kozma 2B Daniel Descalso LHP Jaime Garcia Oh, look, they're pretending to play with one hand tied behind their backs by resting Beltran and Freese. Come on, Brewers; it's my mom's birthday and her first chance to watch you on her new birthday TV. Don't let her down.
  16. Bah, I don't even like typing the Cardinals' names into the lead post. Go visitors. Kyle, don't be a turncoat (or, as one spelling-challenged STL fan said on Twitter, a trader).
  17. That is even more funny that it came from the offical Dodgers account, I can't imagine the Brewers ever doing that to the Cardinals but kind of wish they would have a couple of years ago. One of my very favorite things that the Brewers organization has done in recent years is to play the Angry Birds theme while the Cardinals' lineup is being introduced.
  18. Someone on the Dodgers' social media team won the Twitters last night: Link
  19. I might just be all hepped up on XX chromosomes, but after multiple allegations of abuse, I want no part of K-rod. Do. Not. Want. On principle.
  20. In the absence of a miracle effort from Brian, you can always bookmark forum.brewerfan.net.
  21. Yay! I'm not a teacher, but I know a lot of teachers, not all of whom knew about the Educator Days last year until I shared that special events page with them. I'm pretty sure that alone generated some sales. Thanks again for thinking of us, Jake.
  22. This is what frustrated me the most about Tuesday's game (despite all the candidates for frustration source).
  23. The Brewers' starter is still pitching. He helped his cause with a double. Let me revel in this moment.
