    There were people climbing the Dew can during Monday's game. I noticed one fairly late in the game - apparently watching the Brewers was no longer cool by then. Didn't see anything resembling an accident, though (knocking wood and touching iron).

    I didn't see any TV yesterday. PLEASE tell me he made brats. Or maybe brat patties. A few other comments, following up on some made in this thread: Mr. Attanasio's talk-singing is what it is, I figure. At least it's a straightforward delivery and not all American-Idol-ized (not that I want the IGT to take that tangent). I wonder if there's anyone in the Brewers' fanbase anymore who doesn't know he was in Quiz Show and Gideon's Crossing. I heard a small amount of "oo" noise when Yuni was introduced. I could not tell for sure that they were boos instead of Yuuuuu. You could call this "Opening Day Yovani," but the 20 pitches per inning are kind of normal for him, and facing Colorado has never been his strongest suit. Obviously a birthday save for Ax would have been ideal, but overall this small sample of the bullpen was encouraging to me. 1-0 on the hawing ticket! And hooray for the roof. Best of all, baseball is back. It's like my favorite utility that is turned on in April and humming along until October.

    Welp, without the Triple Play Trivia of years past, we would probably never have gotten around to calling Jim Edmonds "Diego," which for me at least made his time as a Brewer manageable. I suppose it has a place.

    For what it's worth*, here is the comment left on Facebook by my STL-fan friend: *Same guy declared Jonathan Lucroy classless in 2011 for "calling out" TLR in August. Hence the FWIW.

    Where are your tickets for Monday, MH13? I mean a general location. For example, the bleachers or terrace reserved are more likely to expose you to shenanigans than other sections.

    Well, thanks, Brewers, for doing this transaction during spring break while I was busy doing my students' work. I can't add much original to this thread but I'll still add a few observations: 1. As I see it, Lohse was kind of that pricey kitchen gadget that Mark A saw on the store shelf and has had his eye on for months. He couldn't resist. He does like to make moves that the casual fan base (for better or for worse) will interpret as difference-making. I get the balance he chooses to strike, though I'm not always a fan of it. 2. Given my decades-long STL antipathy, it's hard for me to not compare this to the last time the Brewers signed a 30-something pitcher coming off a good year in STL. It's not fair to Lohse, but it's hard not to. 3. As others here have stated in varying ways, Lohse is coming (unless something goes awry late with the physical), so I'm going to choose to hope for the best. I remember not seeing much point in signing Nyjer two years ago this week, and that had decent return in the end.

    I like tonight's social media jokes about banking at FGCU (as if they were a credit union). Plus their win has to have taken some of the spotlight off Wisconsin's off day.

    We are now in the tickets-received group. Our two-week household nightmare is finally over. Except they're not mailing our parking passes until next week, but I'm not worried about that; they cut it close on parking last year too.

    Yeah. In our current 'hood the chances of someone swiping ours are pretty low, but not zero; and I wish the postal carrier would put the box on our enclosed front porch like s/he does for just about every other package we receive. In our previous 'hood the chances of a theft were better, but the Brewers were either playing in County Stadium still or in MP, but really crappy.

    (Italics added by me) Oh, no kidding. What a punk. Irritating for the sake of being irritating is never cool.

    The wirebound books of tickets are normal for preset plans. We were surprised the first year we had a preset plan too. The hawing household is still swinging and missing on Brewers mail. However, Mrs. bensheeps pointed out tonight that all tickets are supposed to be mailed out by Friday. So we haven't necessarily been skipped. We might be dead last on the list, is all.
