  1. How's this for coincidence: with several hours to kill yesterday between the season seat holder luncheon and the evening Brewers game, we landed at Mayfair Mall for a little while, and I noticed this book on display at Barnes & Noble. You should have had your brother identify himself as "Homer's Brother" so it would jump out at me more, because I'm not usually drawn to true crime books. More seriously, that's the kind of thing my library collects. If you think he would like some contact information for our acquisitions staff, send me a PM.
  2. So you continued to watch the "embarrassment"? We know there should never have been drama in a ninth inning with a four-run lead over the visiting Astros, but at least this one turned out better.
  3. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=12430 Click here for ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES.
  4. It would be downright nutty if Ryan had worn no. 12 at Miami.
  5. Adding to the randomness: at Sunday's game I also saw a fan wearing a navy and gold RODGERS 8 football jersey. Took me a bit to figure that out, but indeed, Aaron wore #8 while playing for Cal.
  6. WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING about the Gritty Battler, Gary Bennett? Remember, dude is a World Series champion. (I really wish I could put that last sentence in blue.) No, really, bravo on the list. Though you left out Henry Blanco.
  7. With this boat anchor no longer holding the bullpen back, I expect a complete turnaround starting tonight. I know these are "hired to be fired" jobs and I know the incumbents know that too, but this seems pointless at best and overdue at worst.
  8. I'm imagining the folks who put together the Brewers Gameday programs just throwing up their hands at the thought of attempting to have a 'Stros roster that is even slightly accurate in the program this week. Seriously, they should just photocopy an insert page.
  9. Overheard yesterday at MP, after the Nats got their leadoff home run: "We traded Greinke for THIS?" I mean, the heart of summer weekend + Uecker bobblehead resulted in the baseball crowd equivalent of an Easter/Christmas church congregation (i.e. LOTS of fans who only visit once or twice a year). But man. Facepalm.
  10. I see your Hart's elbow and raise you two RICKIE WEEKS IS A FLAT-OUT BUSTS! You guys are totally forgetting the secret disclosure that Doug Davis' arm was "cashed."
  11. I hope he's in the rotation, and in one of the starting lineups, when the Braves visit MP in September. Everyone's Sheets jerseys and shirseys would be sort of relevant again for one night.
  12. The lead post now reflects the late scratch of Bryce Harper due to a stomach virus.
  13. Pitching well tonight would give the new battery term Wolfonado a chance.
  14. From your office near the international date line (like in those annoying Charter commercials).
  15. As a Sunday ticketholder, I am wondering the same. Should I just get a Wholestaff shirsey? Also, way to end the shutout, I guess.
  16. Based on recent events, I'm going to cling to the little things. Welcome back Luc!
  17. Won't someone PLEASE think of Randy Wolf?! http://www.noisenarcs.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/98183-106343-helen-lovejoy_large.jpg
  18. For whoever was marveling a page or two back about how George Kottaras could be a fan favorite, I will point out that his eye-candy quotient is not merely negligible. Plus he had that one hot week in April. Speaking only for myself, he also sounded interested in the question I asked him at the On Deck thing in January (until we were rudely cut off by the usher who wanted to move the line along despite the crickets chirping in George's general direction). The gun show has moved out of Milwaukee. Thanks for playing, George.
  19. So if now's the time, why haven't I seen any reports of action yet? It's as if I may as well go to bed or something crazy.
  20. A short while, right? (Disclosure: I thought Glendon Rusch was good when he first joined the Brewers.)
  21. A little hard to tell on radio but it sounded afterwards like there was a delayed cheer like the ball got thrown back on the field. Hope I heard that wrong (or maybe I'm confusing it with one of the other 3 HRs) - we don't want to have to conclude that STL Fan has bad taste in friends . . . If this guy's buddy had thrown the ball back, I think my friend would have said so. Then again, this same friend was bashing Lucroy last fall. Luc!
  22. A friend of mine who is a STL fan (we agree on most everything else in life) sent me a message tonight saying one of his buddies caught Zack's home run ball. 2012: year of repeated kicks in the crotch.
