  1. Really nice use of the ref as a screener by MVS late in that play.
  2. She's probably overqualified. It's time for baseball to move past giving jobs to ex players just because they used to play baseball. We've seen that Trend in the right direction for several years now. This is another huge step in the right direction. aside from the fact that she is the general manager of the marlins, I absolutely hope she finds success in this endeavor.
  3. I don't think next year will be "normal", but I think it will be closer to normal than what we had this year. Yes, yes, RoCo, semantics, but I think we're still going to have a lot of testing for players and fans will still have some sort of restrictions. What this is, I don't know, but I don't think we'll see packed stadiums from the get go.
  4. I mean all that aside since this is a thread about Alex Cora, it is kind of bad optics on the red Sox I think. He was suspended a year he served his year. It was 60 games, the red Sox decided he's their guy whether or not he's a cheater ( he is). They've decided they are okay with the optics of that. They know fans aren't going to like it. They don't care. It is what it is. They know their fans are going to side with him and pretend like it either didn't happen or that he didn't know what was going on (he did). Sportball fans don't cheer for the managers. look how many times the Patriots have been caught cheating and their fans don't care. do you think the Patriots.... do you think Bill belichick cares that the rest of America hates them? No. The red Sox hired Cora because he's their guy.
  5. I'm glad the Packers won but eh.... They should have.
  6. Glad to see 12 and mvs have repaired their relationship issues
  7. Our guys aren't the only ones that drop em
  8. Phew. Packers D saved by a practice squad QB.
  9. Well. Based on our run defense so far... "There! Is! Your! DAGGER!!!"
  10. Huge. That could be a momentum shift right there. Could be.....
  11. The line to get was the 7. I don't see a replay where he doesn't get TO the 7 before he goes backward. It's so close I don't see it getting overturned.
  12. #17 being disrespectful as heck. Love it.
  13. When he got spun out of bounds I thought he was a solid half yard past the marker. He definitely didn't step out of bounds.
  14. Nifty little pick up by Dillon on 2nd and long. Nice body control.
  15. Man that was a heck of a play by Martin
  16. I know that the team is probably cutting payroll, but exercising this option seems like a no-brainer to me. I suppose it depends on how they feel the free agent market is going to play out, though. If they feel teams are going to be super stingy, perhaps they can step in and get a few guys signed to to value deals. Eric Thames option seemed like a no brainier too but here we are. I'm not going to assume that Stearns will decide anything until he does it. Gyorko had a nice little season for us, but like you said and others have said teams are going to cut payroll, and if someone else can fill that void for us, Stearns will do it. So I'm going to take a wait and see approach. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to bring the guy back for four and a half million, but at the same time I won't be shocked if that option isn't exercised.
  17. Justin Turner is a douche. I understand that many of his teammates may have already been exposed over the course of the game but there is such a thing as mitigating risk. If you know you're diagnosed, stay away from people.
  18. Strike out looking ona fat ol fastball right down the middle to end the ws.... Get the bat off yer shoulder
  19. I still remember when people wanted to cut davante because of his drops. That dude is incredible
  20. Wow. This is nuts
  21. One of those reasons is that value isn't cash on hand.
  22. In the last 13 years with butt attendance, in a brutal division, and a pretty small payroll tampa has made the playoffs six times with (now) two WS appearances. Good on them. Don't overpay on fa, don't get attached to your guys when they're past their prime and keep bringing in good young talent any way possible.
